[New]

  • Tweaked how hitting car collisions with zombies work:
    • There is now a far higher chance of turning them into a crawler.
    • Ways in which speed impacts damage/response on zombies balanced.
    • Damage to vehicles from zombie collisions improved - far more likely damage to hood/windshield.
    • Added blood splats when hitting zombies at speed.
    • Vehicles now bump slightly when driving over corpses.
  • Required skill level in the furniture-moving tooltip now shown.
  • Added individual translations for most Sandbox option values.
  • Added DebugOptions.TranslationPrefix to show an * before translated strings.
  • Inventory/loot windows now show a resize indicator when the mouse is between column headers.
  • Added PZArrayList.toString() since the base implementation uses iterator()
  • Added context option for placing movables
  • Updated credits

 

[Balance]

  • Tweaked player temperature calculations. When in a car the player's temperature will see change more quickly and react to the heating/AC better.
  • Lowered the mass of wrecked cars.
  • AllowExteriorGenerator is now true by default.
  • Radio/TV XP increased, and fixed discrepancy in bonus for halo display.
  • Increased vehicle loot spawn

 

[Bug Fix]

  • Fixed DrainableComboItem.updateWeight() possibly using an invalid item type.
  • Fixed issues with stove and microwave power checks.
  • Fixed "Press R to rotate" position in carpentry tooltips.
  • Fixed stacking/unstacking logs giving carpentry XP.
  • Fixed double wooden doors using a wrong texture.
  • Fixed open air garage and opened double gates having no vehicles collision.
  • Fixed broken headlights meaning that taillights malfunction.
  • Fixed elements of world streaming code to fix slight hang on loading new chunks in MP
  • Fixed three bugs with chunk checksums - one of which was in IsoChunk: if HoursForLootRespawn=0 (the default)
  • Fixed multi-tile objects not checking if sibling positions have power.
  • Fixed bug in DeviceData concerning worldsounds.
  • Fixed sound emitters being created for IsoSurvivor
  • Fixed zombies not responding to some sounds.
  • Fixed pathfinding garbage collection

Multiplayer, when driving a car the zombies ignore you, not only that they go where the car used to be and give damage to you or scratch you. Looks like horrible dsync is going on in this latest version.

Below are the contents of the TV/Radio Data.

I posted similar content before,but I misunderstood many part.:P

It is described on the basis of ProjectZomboid/media/radio/RadioData.xml

 

  • TV/Radio broadcasting are according to schedule. But All game mode (expect six month later) start at July 9th now. Some game mode should start at July 10th.  (The first week, Survival)

 

  • Sandbox:Initial infection broadcast start at name="main".

 

  • TV/Radio part of 00:00 doesn't broadcast when started game. So I proffer some solutions. See picture for more information. This is on the assumption above item fixed.

So I haven't played for months like others but then online play to me is sort of pointless because of the lack of items and people hording... I mostly play on my own private lan server.

 

Here's my view on things...

 

- way too many zombies in rinky-dink towns with less than 100 homes.

- zombies with too much intelligence and tracking ability. Sometimes even hard to lose them in a forest.

- way too many locked homes (c'mon a zombie apocalypse and people left and locked their doors and windows!!?)

- way too many cars without keys/gas

- Zombies can climb up into a window and into a house. Really?? But they can't climb over a series of cars or boxes?

- Chopping a zombie with a brand new axe takes 3+ hits? wow.

- A guy with more than normal strength and aluminum bat takes 3 or 4 wacks to knock a zombie down?

- Can only put 20 pounds on a seat? including back seats? And what suv's have only 2 seats in the back?

- How does a key-ring only hold one key?

- How can you overload a seat/backpack with sheets? Are these led lined sheets?

- Why limit what can be claimed as as a safehouse? especially if you can sleep on a wood bench?

- How does a tree grow enough to block a car in 3+ days..or survive a car repeatedly running over it?

- How does hitting a zombie at 60+mph not kill it?

- How does a tire of a car take 6+ seconds to kill a zombie?

- How can someone eat a whole ham and be hungry 2 hours later?

- Quitting my game while inside the car with the engine off not a zombie around, come back and I'm outside the car with zombies eating me after surviving 12+ days. Yet time has not passed. Annoying.

- Sleeping when playing online you need others to sleep, then those people who are AFK wont allow others to sleep.

- No vote kicking

Most of this is just you being really picky. The game isn't FULLY realistic, and I believe that minor things like these will end up being fixed/changed in the future. Or at the very least the devs giving you the options to customize more settings like these. 

 

I am not replying to you in a bad way, but I am just trying to help explain why I believe minor things like those are in-game as of right now. I hope they do adress certain game breaking things like sheets "overloading" a car seat. Or the key chain only being able to hold 1 key.

I agree some of these things are you being picky as Capt. Motty suggested. Others are settings that can be changed in world creation.

 

1. Too many zombies can be changed in settings. Can also turn off respawn.

2. Zombies with intelligence can be changed as well. However there are numerous ways to lose them than using the forest. One new way is using cars as a barrier. Try being more creative.

3. Locked homes. Another setting.

4. Too many cars without keys/gas. Another setting (seeing the pattern here?)

5. They usually destroy player-made crates. Climbing over cars could be a new feature in the future.

6. Do you want instant-kill with your new axe? Won't that be boring when you can instant-kill everything in 1 shot at the very beginning? That being said you CAN instant kill zombies with an axe with high level blade and attacking at the right angle.

In addition, if you knock them down with 1st shot you can more often that not, kill them with the 2nd shot when they're down. Advance those skills!

7. I haven't seen 1 shot kills using blunt weapons but again, increase skills to kill them in less shots. I think you can also change the zombies to make them weaker.

8. I think that's more than enough. I use this van which has I think 5 or 6 seats plus the trunk. 5*24+110 = plenty of storage. Plus I play with HC which has even more storage options.

9. My key ring has over 200 keys and 20+ cars so not sure what you're talking about.

10. Heavy sheets. Picky.

11. Unfamiliar with safehouse.

12. Picky. Depends on size of tree. If sapling agree that it should be destroyed. However, have you ever chopped down a tree that gives back 4 logs? Those things are massive...

13. I can kill a zombie when I hit him head-on (and keep driving) at 20-30 mph.

14. ? When I run over zombies they're usually dead. Were those zombies crawling?

15. Picky but your hours look off. If you're stuffed/full there is no way you'll be hungry in 2 in-game hours. (hey if you can be picky, why can't I?)

16. Stealth zombies after logging back on? You mentioned playing online in the next comment. You sure no time has passed? I doubt MP servers would wait for you... However if you saw this in SP, it could be a bug...

17. I'm not familiar with MP but this sounds like a reasonable request. Being able to sleep in MP whenever you feel like it as long as time isn't fastforwarded for everyone.

18. No idea about vote kicking.

Admittedly I wasn't in a good mood when I wrote it, so it was sort of venting. I don't expect much I say to matter. Apologies. I've only watched nearly every zombie movie/show there is, thinking I'm some expert. 

 

I don't know the server settings. If that's true, can you point me to a place I can get it all? Not the wiki it seems very incomplete at this stage.

 

Ok PPanda0421 I'm not gonna bang heads with you, like I said, I'm used to people not giving a crap what I have to say or in the end force their opinions on me as facts. So here are my point to point back at ya.  I updated your post with my responses to yours. So I took the time to address the effort you gave in my post. I'm not mad just want to be understood. I've put a lot of my time in this game lately and I feel I've come a long way.

> Yes. It's happened to me 3 times at least. Yes it was on SpiffoSpace server. Guys weren't sleeping on server, I left for a bio-break. Was in the safe nothing around. So I quit. Came back, load up and 3+ zombies on me.

dammit im mad. (palindrome) what version am i supposed to play? I just want to play the latest version as buggy as it might be. I know vehicles have finally been merged with the game. but im confused as to what beta i need to keep up with. help me :(  

 

It's friday and I had some wine. I just want to play some zomboid and find some in game wine too and play the most current version with a character thats as buzzed as me. why.png.2073ae59669f9b2c3f7b373977534645.png

Ok PPanda0421 I'm not gonna bang heads with you, like I said, I'm used to people not giving a crap what I have to say or in the end force their opinions on me as facts. So here are my point to point back at ya.  I updated your post with my responses to yours. So I took the time to address the effort you gave in my post. I'm not mad just want to be understood. I've put a lot of my time in this game lately and I feel I've come a long way.

 

 

 

I admit I don't play MP at all but even I searched and I found a post on the forums for all the server settings. You can always ask people or search even further for other answers:

1. Respawn. In link.

2. Lots of options here. I'll list a few. Get a shotgun. Shoot it to lure them away from the area you want to explore. Or lure them into a house and leave the house in the back through a window (close all doors when you go into the house). Or gather them all up together and a throw a molotov on them. You can see how I did it on my youtube channel. I kill 100+ zombies in one go and it took perhaps 10-20 minutes rl time.

3. Locked homes. In link.

4. Car options. This is new so you might have to ask around for server settings.

5. If you want more methods to kill/avoid zombies there's nothing wrong with seeing how other people are doing it to learn new things.

6. 15 zombies in one kill is the most you can do. I usually kill around 20 before I back off to rest up. After resting I go back again and kill another 20. Rinse and repeat. No one told you to kill all 100+ zombies in one go. If you think number of zombie are

too much, then change the server settings. See link above. PS - if you have a working weapon you should not be killing zombies by stomping them.

7. The knife is the best for 1 shot kills. If you time it right you can always get that 1 shot kill. Obviously only go for zombies that cannot surround you.

8. UPS/pickup trucks. I don't know myself. Perhaps in a future release.

9. Key. Ok.

10. Sheets are vanilla items. Not sure how easy it is to reduce their weights. Otherwise you're stuck with the current weight. Besides you only need about 2-4 sheets max to cover up windows. You should be sleeping at the highest level or least second floor of house/buildings.

11. Again I don't know much about MP but I'd expect that in MP servers...that you can be killed/raided by other players and such. Unless the server is co-op only.

12. Cutting wood. Yes my point was that you cannot just destroy full grown trees by ramming them once. If that were the case why even use axes? Just use a car to deforest an entire area.

13. Perhaps there are MP sync issues?

14. Again perhaps MP sync issues and the zombies hitboxes weren't registered to be under your tires? Pure guess here since I don't know it works internally.

15. Sorry but in PZ food is very easy to get at least in SP. Perhaps in MP kitchens/stores/trailers/etc are have all been raided so you can't find any food. You need a sustainable food supply. For that you can always forage for food, fish or trap. I'd say the best is farming if you have all the materials. If you're really low on food only eat when your character is starving. Worried about losing a character with 10 days in-game time? Hehe... :).

16. You do know that by  zombies roam right? Since the MP world continues while you were logged off they probably roamed to your cell. They can also respawn as well...

17. Sounds like a good candidate to add to the suggestions list.

18. On MP servers assume anything goes unless specified by the server rules. Never trust people unless you know them personally.

 

I'm also not trying to butt heads with you but I am just informing you.

iwillbackupmysave is the most current version with the cars vehicles update.

thank you. You should update your youtube channel. I finished off a bottle of wine and got bit playing PZ and rage quit.  I wanted to watch a "lets play" and looked at your channel but you only had like one video of PZ. you should make more. play like nobody is watching. you'll attract viewers and it'll snowball into something before you know what even happened.

For complete let's plays (and quite a few of them) checkout the Nomis Plays channel. He's done a lot of videos with PZ with and without mods. Another good channel is 'johnnyonoes' who went pretty far in his modded gameplay. Though I think he stopped playing PZ for the time being. His last series was on 37.x.  Cromulent archer is not bad as well but he dies a lot lol.

Same Problem. Local Dedicated Server. Some of us have the PRoblem that they dsync with a car. (The Car remains in place forthe server but for the Client they drive the car)

Sometime a relog helps. Most often not...

I'd have to re-iterate on something I've said in another post about a week or two ago, because I can't stop feeling bad about it.

My problem with the game running "much worse than in pre-vehicles builds" seemed to be on my end, with the similar occurence being in other games which I tracked down to something being at odds with my audio drivers or the way audio plays. Regardless, only a full wipe + reinstall worked to fix the problem and I finally managed to play the game again, and this time without issues.
 

The game actually feels faster now with vehicles than it felt before, with it still only occasionally dipping when zoomed out at max and running about in busy areas, but with a much smoother performance overall. Again, I haven't done proper test (as it was just me fiddling about with getting the game to work at all) so I can't say the thorough percentage of how much better it ran. It ran so smooth, in fact, that I didn't lazy out from downloading a few mods from workshop (onto an iwbums build!) and playing around for about 3 or 4 hours.

Hey thanks for the info. Much more helpful than the other one, appreciate that list of explained server options. I can work with that. I did search and never found that list. That should be used to update the wiki.

Car keys seem to be mostly found in a locked car lately making difficult to get the keys to the car.  so far I have been breaking the window to get into the locked cars to only find the keys to start the car.

I  have also tried different  vehicle sandbox settings to try to get inside of the car and most of the cars are locked with the keys inside.   

I have tried different lock frequency settings.

 

Here are the vehicle locked frequency  settings I have  tried using to get into the vehicle. for some reason the locked frquency "never" seems to still have cars being locked on all doors.

  • Extremely rare
  • Never

I will work on giving the map design errors right now, hoping I finish today.

 

EDIT:Ok, phew! Holy mother of error finding and editing work. It took me 6 hours (including editing) to find all errors in suburban area Riverside. (since there isn't really any errors outside of the Riverside suburbs) I literally looked into every. single. detail. on each building and looked mostly for the wrong placement of light switches/unnecesary extra lightswitches and/or symmetrical-ity of the fences in certain areas since those were the main issues. I had already mentioned before that I would do this, but I just haven't had the time until today.

 

Even though I did find game breaking  map design errors like missing walls, visibility glitches, doors placed wrong, and no light switches in areas around homes AT ALL. (Mostly in the Riverside gated community homes) It's the first time I ever do something as big as this in terms of helping the devs out, and finding errors for Riverside was excrutiating to me. 

 

I probably won't do something like this again but I'll see depending on how the community and devs respond to this error report. I took my time to help, and I hope it was worth it. Even though I know most of this is minor but I still think it needs some attention.

 

 Thank you for your time, below I've included all errors I found marked in the PZ Map by me and pictures I took in-game of the issues. I might have to comment more times in order to place extra pictures. (sorry about that)
