EasyPickins Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Backing up save is as always recommended. FryBeastwood Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) Bug - When Snow melts, red question marks appear over the tile! Although I should mention - the game looks 100000000% better with the new look! <3 Edited March 4, 2016 by FryBeastwood Balandabar, 956Texas and nasKo 3
Necromatic_Corgi Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 It's so different....I love it, I will miss the old style but this is such a nice change.
Necromatic_Corgi Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Some textures could use a change such as beds having pillows/blankets, I also really like the clean look of everything....So smooth...
EasyPickins Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Just a head's up, when loading old savefiles you may see a bunch of misplaced tiles (like beds, rugs, some walls). This is due to some of the artwork being rearranged.
NagashUD Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Awesome ! i wish characters had bigger textures now just loving it !

ShadowJustis Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Amazing work! I love how everything pops out at you now, Also the new textures for the Zombies and player are great! I can't wait to play this build on my favorite server, The new Nutrition System will be awesome with it.
Necromatic_Corgi Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Bug: after it stops raining there are rain particle effects left over that are frozen mid air.
Decay Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) Also another bug: I see question mark tiles sometimes Edited March 4, 2016 by Decay
EasyPickins Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 47 minutes ago, Decay said: Also another bug: I see question mark tiles sometimes I'm fixing these. It's due to plants being placed on non-natural floors. The erosion system doesn't replace those plants with seasonal ones. If you see any trees with ??? under them, that is due to having a plant and tree on the same square. I'm fixing those as well. Kuren 1
Necromatic_Corgi Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Quick question, Will the map tools be updated to look like the game now?

Buildings and maps will work, however since some tiles were moved around they will need to be fixed in community maps. TileZed has "Check Buildings" and "Check Maps" commands that help find most of these. 956Texas 1
EvaN Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Wow, the graphics look amazing now, even when zoomed in... Fantastic work ! Also, no bugs to report yet, even with a few mods enabled... Fantastic work indeed, cheers !
zomboid123 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Nice update, the lighting in the mall is no longer in slow motion. I have to point out though that multicore is still not working in the linux build.
vickorano Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Just started a game on a new map I hadn't tried yet and... whoo boy... Other than the foliage/trees bug, everything else is great. I'm happy to see a higher resolution.
zomboid123 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 So you may have just killed the hydrocraft mod with this drastic switch in art style with no notice. Hydromancerx was already dreading updating all the food items for the nutrition system, when he finds out that all of his mods art is now going to stick out like a sore thumb I wouldn't blame him if he called it quits. I know you wanted this to be a big surprise, but you had tons of modders working on art that no longer fits the art style of the game.

I would agree and everything but the art style is so good now, It really sucks about hydrocraft I loved the hell out of that mod. Let's hope hydromancerx doesn't quit.

We must do what's best for the game, which is not always what's best for modders. We do sympathise with the extra workload, but this is not a hugely drastic switch in art style. The style is generarally staying the same. The change is in resolution. Please don't berate the devs for doing what they think is best with a game which is in continuing development. It's called an alpha for a reason. wintermuteai1, Blasted_Taco, vickorano and 8 others 11
