Fight fire with sand, gravel, dirt, and the majority of water-containing items in the game. No longer can you blame fire for destroying your mighty fort -- no, it'll be a lack of preparedness!
Just extract the contents of this zip archive into the zomboid\mod directory and enable in the Mod Loader.
Note: For today, debug code is included with the mod. Delete contextMenuA.lua to remove the ability to spontaneously light the world on fire, put it out, and start with a hefty bag of (useful) sand. It'll be reorganized later.
    To Do:
    -make sand/gravel/dirt incremental
-Add a "Beat Out" option for use with the bed sheet under select circumstances

It is a mystery that not even the Gods can solve. Even Spiffo is powerless to answer.

After spending hours collecting the resources to finally start crafting, I ended up loading the game.

While fully loaded with 52/8 in logs, my character was instantly crushed on load.

EnigmaGrey reacted to GimmeCat in Corpse Mod (updated to 0.9.3)
I didn't see the pre-edited reply, but I hope you didn't take offense to my post, paol. Respectfully, I would suggest that these are not your mods to get offended over in the first place. Any problems found in them are not a result of you putting together this pack. But the problem I see with Dead Overhaul is that you have an old and broken mod, such as this one, mixed in with other mods from other authors, and proclaiming the whole package to be b26 compatible when it clearly is not. If you take a look at the console window during gameplay you will see plenty of stack traces occuring as a result of Corpse Mod failing at some point in its code.

I would also like to say that I downloaded Dead Overhaul because I liked the selection of mods you included in the package. Unfortunately, all you can really do is make them load; you can't fix the other problems present in them, according to your own comments about lack of lua skill. So, ultimately, I feel that Dead Overhaul is an unsafe package to use, which is why I suggest that anybody interested in the mods included therein simply download the most up-to-date versions seperately, and only IF the original author has declared them b26 compatible. This will also facilitate much easier updating of these mods in the future without having to wait for the combo-package to be updated.

If you'd like to discuss it in a civil manner, you're very welcome to shoot me a PM and we can have a chat about it if you still disagree with my opinion.

Updated -- now with the ability to clean blood off the ground.

Cleaning blood from tiles is also incremental, based on how much blood is present.

I'll have to take a peak at the Wall code, it's lookin' a bit temperamental again.

    Released.

So I've been touching myself having good laughs watching Robbaz's KSP videos for months, and with that -40% sale on Steam I decided I had no excuse not to buy it now... so I did !

Just spent like 5h trying not to explode and leave the atmosphere in Training, I finally did and it felt like a great achivement I think I've figured out the basics of rocket building and SAS (thank gawd I figured it out quickly enough), then I made the flying & orbiting tutorials. Now it's plain day and I'm tired as phuck but daym that game feels good.

I'm gonna explore the vanilla game before I try mods out, I just checked and there are so many - it scares me.

It'd be better just to mimic the way real recipes are done and make it consistent across the board for cooking. It doesn't necessarily need a new GUI to do this, but I wouldn't mind it. Being able to act on a container other than the player's inventory would also be a plus.

Spawned 60,000 zombies in close proximity, 10,000 at a time. Sure, it lags -- collision between all the bastards spikes CPU intensely, not to mention the back and forth between the server.
But guess how much RAM this uses? 2GB for the server and 1 GB for the client.

Can't tell if serious, Eblanc. Most semi-non-English speakers haven't had this much trouble on this forum, nor argued over points of speech or grammar to this degree before.
Look at the forum rules. Be lovely essentially means to be polite and not pick fights.
Zombies don't crash servers -- the only instance I've seen where there has been an issue is Alice Cooper's server, where the presence of massive amounts of dead bodies somehow had a negative impact (whether they truly did or not, it'll probably take a while to find out). Now, you may think this is somehow due to massive RAM, but zombie-corposes seem to be one of the smaller objects to exist, in a game that already works with millions of objects.
The game itself, in its current state, can operate under 400 MB of RAM. Because the map is chunk based, any RAM usage is likely going to become simply this: (number of players * current chunks). Vechiles shouldn't impact this in any real way, as it'll still only require the immediate area around each player to be active.

Stepped on a roof to my safe house (West Point, next to the church with the two west facing gardens), fell through said roof into the middle of the bed.  I was stuck in said bed.  Lucky, I had a bottle of whisky so I drank that bad boy up, and took the eternal sleep.  (sped up time until he died of starvation)

9 month with a couple of days survived.

I like to think my character just kinda gave up at that point.

As to vehicles being modular, I'm more OK with that than hot-wiring. But, personally, when I think of the zombie apocalypse, I think of cars trapped in grid locks and accidents -- there should be a point where vehicles aren't usable, aren't repairable, or aren't freeable.

I'm going to get back on subject here and the answer to me being able to hot wire a car is a no. Go outside and into your car because it's extremely difficult . However mechanics should know how to get into a locked car or a faster repair and knowledge of everything that has to do with it or a spawned with knowledge maybe go more in depth and make it like different educational knowledge of like engines and stuff

    Seriously?
Un- usually a prefix implying not, or incomplete, or the opposite of. Similar prefixes include 'Im' and 'A'.
Immature, Unmature, A-mature... Just because they are not words themselves, does not leave them meaningless when broken down a little bit (imagine how many more words there would be in the English language if every variant of every word, and every prefix were all legitimate words themselves)

It seems like you're walking on the very fine line of being [blatently] intolerant of non-native English speakers (there's another one! You could, by definition, probably use 'inmature' and be left with the same definition as immature).
Use your noodle a little bit, and you'll figure out the meaning of almost all the discrepancies in posts that have been translated from another language.

Edit: On topic, given the level of realism the PZ Devs strive for, I think some kind of modular mechanics functionality would work in with the gamey-ness best. So any car could be made to function, with the correct functioning parts combined.
