But cars parked all first winter long should really should really be worse for the wear-- in the 90s especially, car batteries did all their dying in the wintertime. Batteries were crappier back then too. So now its year two and most of the random cars have dead batteries and flat tires. Situation changes. No more running out of the building and checking three cars in the parking lot and finding 2 keys in the gloveboxes and driving all over creation anymore- gets a lot more problematic on highly eroded roads and with limited abilities to resupply.
If you combine this kind of atrition, link tire damage to the erosion system and the tile type they're driving on, add potential for catastrophic blowouts, you have a lot of potential for really nailbiter situations. Drive your truck into the woods and you lose a tire at a bad time... uh oh its getting dark...
The best scenario for car usage.
I think that from year two you should be really attracted to your car, keep it in a gods shape.
Personally I like when I have 1 in-game car, with our own history, with a lot of mileage (I think it's pretty good idea to include your mileage on a dash), so I want more focus on car maintenance

Works pretty good, there is no freezes for 1-3 secs, unloaded cells and other problems, fps on portable pc about 15-20, want to try on more powerful rig

My thoughts about suspension and overall car condition:
Maybe it's a good idea to add some moddles about car, for example-bad condition suspension can cause nausea
Or if car is in a crappy state than can appear uncomfortable moddles and so on

Feedback from 15 minutes in-game:
I've never seen non damaged normal car
Some normal cars don't have texture (except wheels), they were black
Perfomance on my rig is pretty good, much better than on 21
Mechanic skill work pretty good
Good work guys!

When I've been making the vehicles they've all got interiors including engine compartments and trunks where applicable. Doors, hoods and trunks have been modelled so the can open.
However I'm not sure when we'll implement this as a few things need to be "lined up" like animations for it to be visually correct, and I have no idea regarding what needs to be done code side for it to work..
Thanks for reply!
Really love your models.
Wish some code guys clearify this moments.

In March to 1.0 you show a car with detailed interior and opened doors, what happened with this car?
So will we see open hood/doors/trunks?

Really want to see some kind of car "erosion", when the cars will change they texture to more dusty and rusty (without stat degradation) after some time like a buildings at this moment

Oh my god..
The era is gone.
I loved this word, I knew it for years.
It is shoking.
Good night sweet prince.

Also I found a bag: radio transmissions stops on the day 7-8, don't remember correctly.
The last one I've heard was about infection spread, walking dead and so one, but this is not the end, there should be more and more.

So, I play the new build on a more powerful rig (amd a8-7410, and Radeon R5 graphics, 8 Gb ram) and the build run pretty faster.
I didn't spot some serious lag, ~35 fps, first 3 days I play only on foot.
Gas is very scarce, I found ~15 vehicles and all of them were empty. After some looting I found a half-empty gas can and decide to try the nearby wagon. When I start to drive the car I spot the huge FPS drop to 15 FPS and lower, it hard to drive the car with such lags.
Gas presence is really bad for this moment, when the electricity go off we will not be able to took gasoline from the gas station, there is no gas in the cars. We run out of gas on the map for about 1-3 months in game and they become useless.
I really hope for the IWBUMS 38, good work!

Yeah we've worked out what's causing it now, but the remedy may be put into a post-release patch at this point so we can be sure its tested properly.
Cool, this is the IWBUMS thread so wanted to check. We have some general optimizations ready to go into that branch towards the end of next week - and Yuri is due to start work on some general vehicle optimizations too. I suspect that the increased/changed car spawns in the recent versions haven't helped much.
Oh, sorry, I was confident that I wrote in vehicle thread, sorry
Thanks for your reply, have a good weekend!

Are you playing on vehicles or IWBUMS?
I talked about vehicle builds.

Just want to give some feedback:
Those new builds works worse than even first vehicle test build. In initial release i have only stuttering when in car, but those stuttering affect the game a little, about every 3-4 minutes I have a lag for 2 secs and never experienced this when I travel by foot.
With the latest build I have lags all the time I play, even on foot
It is very strange.
My specs
4gb ram, intel core i5, 2x2,3, ATI 2gb vram
-
Would we see non-cuted building in the future? It's really break immersion, when you drive down the road and see only halfs of a buildings without a proper roof.
-
Gonna test new update this evening
Are some visual representation of damage on cars in pipeline?
Or we just gonna drive some invulnerable brick without any scratch till it's HP is off?
-
What if convert electric skill into mechanic skill and just give them abilities to repair cars/creating tools?
I think it's logical that the mechanic could easily found a way to create a radio or make some easy electric work.
If that would done those skills became much more valuable, because they don't seems so vital, for generator you can found a journal for example
So that's my thoughts

I have old dinosaur with 4gb ram, intel i5 2core, 1gb video memory
On survival I have a serious lags, sometimes laptop just shutdown due overheating, my guess that it was caused by hordes, because without huge hordes it run smoothly with average 20-25 fps, all models 3d
On first week difficult a take a trip (after some looting for bags, tools, food that was loaded into trunk of a sedan) from Rosewood to McCoy in Mauldraugh.
After that I head to West Point ant find a house in quiet place and start fortifications.
This game lasts for about 45 minutes, fps was 20-30, sometimes game stuttering for 2-5 second. Building and barricading works as usual without bags, loot distribution was normal but I didn't find any watches for 1,5 hours. Update increase my fps just I little bit but it became more stable, sounds are awesome.
Cars feels great, but turning angle is a little bit low, cars wrecks are very rare on the road and they are very loud.
Hope it help:)

yeah i was excited for the dead linger and pretty disappointed when they ended and just disappeared like that but i guess thats the harsher side of early access backing
No, it's not early access problem in case of dead linger, they just shut down work on dead linger and start doing their next game on our money for dead linger.
-
To all lil pussies that's screaming "they do it wrong, game never be released, they just promised etc."
Dont play this game till desired feature will be add. I didn't play since the animation be promised.
Some times ago I backed a Dead linger.
Those developers are real scumbags, they lied, they disappeared and do a lot disgusting things(maybe some of you backed this project like me)
Just give time to indie stone, they really deserve it, they make a best zombie survival game. Don't be scum, guys.
Oh, and I forgot-thank you devs:)

We have a tent, where we can sleep, but why it can't protect us from rain?
because we can't get inside!
i think that it would be a great addition, even for RP purpose, because standing near the tent, when you can get in-strange.
It would be a cool addition, if we could craft things and read books while we inside, it also can give rain and some small cold protection(when tent near campfire, it should be more warmer)
So, what do you think?

Hey, guys, I remember a screenshot with a metal barrel for bonfire, what's up with it?
Didnt play since previous stable build, hold it back till animation release.
What happened with forging?

The most irritating think that I don't like in newer builds is car disappearing when they out of sight.
They static, I know that the car stay right behind me, no need to hide them.
The overall view of the map is much, much more pleasant with the cars on background, especially with car wrecks, the world look more natural.
And the the visual representation of car disappearance is ugly.
