Nope on all accounts of that argument, really.

Farming is a lot less reliable than fishing and a lot less practical (but more rewarding) - it takes more time (months) and requires more effort and resources. Fishing you can do at just about any time but is downgraded in winter, as long as you have a rod and bait. Farming is the most rewarding but Fishing is by far a lot easier to instantly reap the fruits of your labor from. Either way both of them aren't useful during the winter which puts farmers at a handicap if they don't have another way to get food for the winter.

Electricians are also capable of crafting many objects that can make or break PVP in multiplayer, whereas carpentry is solely based on the ability to build walls and furniture. Level 4 carpentry could do you for all that you need to physically live off of and being that that is obtainable as other professions with basic levels of effort it would make sense that carpentry isn't worth as much as a guy who knows the recipes from the get-go.

And your point about zombie fish... really, you are saying that? Out of all of the established lore so far, with special infected not being a thing, you still think zed fish is actually a plausible thing?

Personally, I am fine with zombies having some variation in their attributes, perhaps based on what they once were, still weakened, but not to the extent desired in the OP. No where near that . . .

I think you are undervaluing how many people would skip Unemployed entirely if jobs like Veteran or Policeman were 'free'. I'm sorry but every way of looking at it from the balance point of view would state that jobs that make the game especially easier (like Veteran and Electrician) would still have to have some kind of drawback for picking them. That's also considering that the less valuable jobs (like Burger Flipper or Farmer) have abilities that get used intensely less than that of the latter.

Dude, you are clearly asking for special infected. Masking it by giving your argument your own home-made loopholes ("well, you can be jacked in real life") doesn't change the fact that zombies degrade regardless and that strength wouldn't transfer through the reanimation of a sickly zed to begin with.

Let's just cut the rhetoric and get on with it.

    You want super zombies.

    "How so?", you ironically ask.

Welp, Let's look at what you are asking. (These are copy-pastes from your posts so far)

    Death grip? Sprinting? Bone-breaking swipes?

You are asking for a 'special infected' super-zed. Sorry but not only is some of these utterly unrealistic but this is something that is likely never going to happen since special-infected aren't priority.

Magic Mark got a reaction from EnigmaGrey in Generator... a real bummer
I think that if you are making a 'home-made' house especially when moving stuff comes, and want to build a house with a fridge and stove, a generator could be very useful especially if the power is still on (so you can collect gas every now and then).

Or if siphoning from the big tanks comes into play and there is a reliable way to get gas late-game, that would be great too. As it stands if you run a generator non-stop it is likely you will only find enough cans (including the empty ones) to run it for one or two months.

Currently my style of generator usage involves turning it off at night as that is when the temperature drops, supposedly lowering the temperature the food is in by a degree or two (if food temp in somehow connected to the world temp). That way I save gas and the food doesn't spoil as quickly.

Or when I don't have fresh food I don't run it, wait for the harvest, and then run it just enough to keep the food fresh long enough for me to preserve it (I have a collection of lids so I can at least do this reliably for two harvests).

The distinction is already there, and the only thing that you'd really face if you pick a few negative points is slightly restrict your -specific- style of playing.

Some professions in this game are, to put it bluntly, very very rarely necessary or important for survival. You can easily never touch professions like Angler, Park Ranger, etc, because there are other ways to gather food aside from those. However, some professions, if they were to exist without restriction, would be more important to choose. Police officer offers aiming boost, which lets you deal with zombies easier, or carpenter gives you an advanced knowledge of fortifications, which can be used to block zombies away. These professions have to have some kind of worth assigned to them, since otherwise every third player will be picking them, rendering other professions useless.

However, when you have relatively cheap professions, you have an actual reason to pick them. Maybe you wouldn't be a pro gun user that can 1 shot zombies with pistol, but you'll still be able to pick a profession PLUS a few positive traits to aid you in that specific playstyle. Playing as Unemployed, actually, becomes relevant, since you get to spend 8 more free points on some trait. Imagine unemployed being at all relevant if all the other professions became just as free?

The whole point of the professions system is to keep some stuff out of reach of every player. If there are no tradeoffs, you might as well just throw away the entire system and have every character be exactly the same.

Usually here, in america, we keep garbage bags in boxes of about 20-30 bags each. Because i don't think everyone in Kentucky only bought one garbage bag or just happened to run out of bags on the same day. I just thought that this idea would make the game more realistic for all of us who play it.

I want to address the time it takes to heal and the rate at which cloth strips become dirty. It is seriously off in the game as it stands.
I rock climb IRL and I do it freehand and through brush and thorns (I'm a bit crazy like that) The amount of scratches I've got (ones that actually break the skin and bleed) is into the 100s if not the 1000s.
    1) A scratch that doesn't draw blood requires no first aid and you'd have to be crazy unlucky for it to get infected.
    2) A scratch that does draw blood can be staunched by wrapping it in cloth and it will stop bleeding after about an hour, the body is awesome like that. After the bleeding stops you have about a day or max 2 till it is at no risk of reopening. You'll use either one or two bandages for that. One will probably negate all risk of infection (also note that infections are usually minor and just cause swelling and a tiny bit of strain on the immune system). From a resonably superficial scratch 1-~3 mm you'll be left with a scratch mark for about a week but it is totally safe from infection or reopening
    3) Deeper wounds (ones that completlety open the dermis i.e. 1cm in) are more tricky. Bleeding will probably take a day to fully staunch and you'll have about 3 days with risk of infection and have to change bandages once or twice daily. The wound will probably take a week to be completley free of risk of opening These can leave scars. (this approximates a zombie bite)
    4) Much larger wounds: ones that rip into arteries or organs can obviously kill you. These would take professional medical attention. For the sake of argument (and gameplay) unnatended you could surivive these but good luck without surgery and anesthetic. Maybe if you're blessed with a superhuman immune system you'll mange (I've heard many stories). Stitches, microsutures, sealing with a flaming metal rod... pretty much a nessesity. Start praying your organs are intact.
    5) and this one is fun: As you get infected via the blood and suffer through it, your risk of infection goes down. You pick up all the vanilla ones first and the first cuts you get in your life will swell and hurt intesley. Subsequent injuries of this nature will eventually not swell or even hurt. Your body has just leaned to fight small quantities of the common infectious organismns out there. To be honest I wouldn't even dress a superfical cut now. I just wrap whatever napkin or whatever I have in my backpack round it for a little while till the bleeding stops and cary on, making sure to keep whatever digit or bodypart it is away from contact with the rock.
However I still wouldn't dip it in a can of 1 mounth old rotten food. Though likley if I did that I wouldn't die.
Anyway, this is real data from firsthand observation and I know how much shorter healing times are in real life to how they are in the game at the moment. It kind of spoils it for me to see the body being depicted crapper than it really is.
In conclusion : More zombies: yes! lower healing times: A must.
If you guys agree (or just believe me) please like the post and bump it

It had only JUST filled up the 'burning' bar as I turned the oven off (I was looting/clearing the rest of the house as I let it cook), so it couldn't have been that bad! Besides, charcoal is just carbon, and you can actually eat it to calm an upset stomach...
