    Cigarettes on zombies would be damaged to shit since they walk around and dont really care about them getting smashed in their pants anymore, maybe finindg 1 or 3 usable cigs in a zombie could be good, but sooner or later it will encourage zombie farming like we use to do (and some still do) with axes.
     
    Its going to encourage the player going "huh i need a smoke, better go and kill some zeds".
     
    However having the option to grow tobacco opens up trade opportunity between NPCs and players or player to player trades, something like This War Of Mine where if you start growing tobacco, your cigs are not like the real thing but still have some value, same goes to moonshine.
     
    Maybe player made cigs could have less effects than real cigs but still it would accomplish to fill that "need" of nicotine for some time.

    Growing Tobacco could be fun, but regardless, that's breaching into the realm of "ideas for the future". Regardless I think there is a ton of cigarettes in the current loot spawn that previously had no use that matched the amount you could get without trying. If there is going to be a need for them with an addiction trait it might be fair to add more ways to get them.

    It's gonna be a complex algorythm, so I'm not sure i'll do it for this build, need to take in calcul for how long he is smoking, how many cig a day, then generate more side effect as time pass without a cig untill finally he loose the trait, will require lot of researches as i'm not a smoker myself

    I know people like this too but it really just takes some self control imho. I quit cold turkey a few years back and have been doing great (although I will admit to bumming a couple cigs from friends when I'm really drunk ). Going cold turkey will stop the cravings in a couple weeks but if you have the occasional cig during that period than it's going to be much harder. The real challenge is getting through those stressful periods where you want to get your fix after just quitting imo.

    I think it would be fair if it took even a couple of in-game months to fully lose the trait however. It would just be nice, if smoking trait is a thing, to be able to lose it or gain it though (while I of course think and know it should be easier to gain than lose).

    In my opinion it should be easy to get addicted and hard to stop begin addicted, when you say someone is a smoker, you are implying that those people have smoked for a very very long time, trying to quit it in a span of 2 weeks is almost impossible (i seen friends, family and coworkers try to do it and they just cant, begin that even after a month of no smoking they come back always).
     
    I hope that you change opinion and add some sort of addiction to smokes in the future and add a long period of time of cold turkey that decreases it effects over a long period of time making it hard to quit.

    Cyan could work, I could give it a try, RGB pickup, why not, tho intensity won't work, i'm not applying a mask over the item, i'm just changing it's rendering color.
     
    Will try to see to setup your own RGB
     
    As for addiction to smoking, I kinda wanted to do it, but then ppl would want quitting tobacco too and it vary for all people, so could be hard to simulate...

    If there are no plans to add the ability to quit and lose (or gain) the addiction over time (I hope there is though) then I feel like growing your own would be a must, as cigarettes will run out and you'll be left with a permanently stressed out character despite the fact that at that point they'd have quit "cold turkey" for a while and should be fine. Would be cool to see the ability to grow it either way though, it would add another fun element to the world in the late game

    I had one uncle that was close to me and he hang himself, also one friend from the childhood who took his own life because depression. 
     
    It is a very strong image to see someone who hung themselves, but when i see it in a movie, game (cry of fear) or other media it never brings back those memories,  life is like that, it sucks sometimes, but well that is offtopic and i still hope that we see NPCs who took their own life in different ways other than guns (since they are very loud) if they weren't strong enough or maybe they got infected. 
     
    From my point of view, it would enhance the world of PZ.

    Also the smoker trait can be gained if you smoke some cigarettes? I mean if you puff lets say 10 smokes in the span of 3 days or something like that, can you become addicted to it and gain the smoker trait?

    I think this would be really cool to add the need for a lighter, matches or some kind of fire to light your cigs. If you've ever been a smoker and/or know any then you know how important a lighter is and that a quest to find one is in order when you can't. Would be fun to see that play out in the game

    Also, great update So much good stuff in there

    I like the idea, wearing a motorcycle helmet to try and raid a base at night without some guy pointing out your name would be neat and since we are getting all the clothes options in the update, it would be more easy to ID someone or give a vague description of what they were wearing.
     
    I mean you should be able to ID someone with a helmet when you are in close range, but a full on mask or even gas mask it could be very hard to do it.

    Build IWBUMS 35.16:
     
    [New]
    Drop your cooking pot, bowl, bucket or saucepan on the ground when it's raining and it'll fill automatically! (long process, even longer for the bowl or saucepan, because they're smaller)
    Added black & red painting
    Added Box of Jars, spawn in houseware store and groceries, open it to get 6 jars and jar lids
    Added smoker trait: need to have a regular cigarette or start to gain stress/unhappyness
    Cigarettes now gives less stress relief, no more unhappyness but give bit of sickness if not a smoker, on the other hand smoker get more "bonus" from having a smoke
    Added a OnEat lua hook on Food items (called when eating the item, check cigarettes)
     
    [Balance]
    Compost now take x100 more time to actually create fertilizer
    Use 2 nails instead of 1 to barricade a window with a plank
    Balanced how XP is given for recipes: lot of cooking recipes has been tweaked, opening jars/etc won't give xp while making bread etc will give more
    Same for sawing log, it now gives 3 xp if your woodwork level is under 3, but only 1 xp point then
    Stress now reduce the damage done by your weapons (shaking hands..)
    Being stressed for a while start to increase unhappyness
     
    [Bug Fix]
    When consolidating 2 water source, if the main source was tainted, the new source will also be tainted
    The sometimes corpses stayed highlited bug should be fixed
    You can now barricade with planks if nails were inside one of your backpacks
    Fixed a bug when sometimes the paint menu appears empty of painting
    Compost creates will now block you (can't go through anymore!)
    Can't consolidate batteries, candle and torch

    I was playing a game recently and in it you had the feature to disguise yourself and get an unknown tag, I think we should have this for Project Zomboid so you will #1, accidentally shoot your own friends who are unknown and #2 be able to do sneaky stuff without getting shit listed in all chat by the one person who sees you. It makes sense from a realistic standpoint but I guess it could be used to grief, maybe have it appear in the logs who is disguising themselves?
     
    I am not sure, I just think it would be fun if you could actually wear a mask, and given the visual update coming up it would really fit the same theme really nicely and certainly make the game a lot more interesting.

    No negative for doing it, but a bonus if you do. That way you don't have to do personal hygiene, but it would give you a small bonus to happiness if you do. And like morninam said; the items are already there, why not use them?

    Useful actions for the crowbar would be a fine addition, so long as it has the appropriate penalties for its use.  If they're not much quieter than chopping a door, they should at least be faster, since you're really just aiming to break the frame, anyway.
     
    Really, we should also have the option to kick down doors or sledge them down, as well. With appropriate risks.
     
    Most solid wood furniture in the US is screwed together, so the game's requirement of a screw driver makes more sense. The saw, not so much. But then, disassembly should really just have increasing returns for having tools in your inventory, rather than be locked behind them.

    So, as of one of the latest updates, houses now randomize with stuff like barricades, being burnt down, and having just dead bodies.
    Here are a few ideas that I have to spice it up.
    (1), Having a Suicide note go along with some dead bodies (particularly the ones with guns next to them)
    (2), Bloody Hand prints on windows.
    (3), Stuff written in blood on the wall (Example=God Help Us)
    (4), Hung people
    (5), Banners in windows (Example=Help!)
    (6), Holes in walls (form explosions, car wrecks, etc.)
    (7), Blood pools
    (8), Gnawed on skeletons
    (9), Cracked windows (or windows with holes from gunshots in them, would make window weaker)
    (10), Warning/Awareness posters/signs
    Well, those are my ideas. tell me what you think, and thanks for reading.
