    Your roofing is awesome; I find it very difficult so.. respect. Especially, it's small but, the roofing on that main street buffet building... can't believe I didn't think of that, I've been trying to think of creative ways to put those circus tent things above windows but they only come in 2 colours, so either way it will start looking a bit dull after a while.

    add shading under that bridge and im sold that this is a 3d game with elevation after all lol

    Stuff like this is exactly what I had in mind for forests, it would blend in with the grass on the north side and then have a steep dirt cliff on the south, it would be about as high as the trailer park foundations give or take so players could walk over them, while others would be bigger and have invisible walls infront of them to give the illusion of being elevated ground and impassable.

    I do have The Long Dark on Steam and I really REALLY love the game so much.

    Its artstyle is really amazing and I found the nature and overall landscaping awesome, funny you mention it cause the initial idea of setting it in Canada actually came to me when I was playing that game just being all stunned at how awesome western canada and its nature really is.

    A lot of the buildings I done were inspired if not 1:1 remade directly from pictures I took from the long dark and I was planning to set it in a small lakeside real life town in the Yukon territory that is called Dawson I think?

    The very poor suburb house from the second picture I linked is an as close as possible street view remake from one of the dawson suburb buildings.

    My main inspiration for everything gaming and creativity related that I'm doing however is The Last of Us and I kinda shifted the location over to my home state Indiana cause no one ever really represents it and sets it in the midwest (see the crew, or the driftless map for unturned, which completely left it out and made it a random big forest in both examples) but I'm still very excited about including Canada in PZ.

    I'm mainly still waiting for the devs to add the new tilesets in and maybe update the tools a bit before I start my work on custom tilesets which I will then use for my next map the yukon territory, and that will include flagpoles and flags being retextured to the iconic and beautiful red maple leaf flag :) 

    If the nature tiles and hills stuff works out for the canada map ill see about including them in my Indiana map too but that's all for the future.

     

    Pretty sure I still got the mountaineers hut, the Mistery Lake camp office, and a WIP of the Pleasant Valley farmstead somewhere around:-)

    there's a button in that window that says "tilesets..."

    from there, find your new tilesets and add them all.

     

    my goal is to make probably a 1.5x to 2x bigger downtown area than West Point, but probably won't go too crazy with suburbs. Another focus is creating subtle chokepoints/bottlenecks within the downtown area. I will probably change the town hall some more, and maybe compare some similar buildings like the new courthouse in Rosewood, and create something original but familiar. It's always been my favourite building, just as downtown West Point has always been my favourite place, but if I do eventually put it out there, then I suppose I should cater to others somewhat and make something new and worthwhile. In the end though, this map is for me, so if it doesn't have that same nostalgic, white bread, middle American feel that WP has, it just isn't worth my free time.

    Also, your idea is awesome and I hope you follow through with doing this.

    I really don't want to insult any of the other custom maps as they're awesome, but they all have the non-zomboid feel in the sense of not being in the style of the devs original game, I would definitely download your map and actually play on it if it's basically 'just' a bigger version of an original location that has buildings in the exact style and look of the original buildings :)

  5. How did you add that fireplace? I've been dying to add those to my buildings but they along with other things like the entire Mall tileset are just a bunch of red question marks.

    Also I kinda like how you're making it look just like West Point it's refreshing from all the new location / new state / new country maps with those crazy buildings (as in good crazy of course) it's like you're giving us a kinda different and (much?) bigger version of West Point with the developers art and building style along with a bit of your own flavor?

    pictures from the animation update and videos like anything like the huge amount of new weapons and attachments youve shown us had me looking at them for months straight never being disappointed and always eagerly awaiting

    its like im starting to think if the wait is worth it and then i look at the videos with the new combat the gore overlays the loads of new guns different revolvers THE M16!!!!!!!!!!!! with the duct taped kitchen knife bayonet attachment the new clothing the park ranger gear the visible backpacks youve shown us and most of those were taken straight in 3ds max and i looked at those and was like hell yeah it sure is worth it and if you provided some cool pic/s of pretty much ANYTHING animation related each mondoid or so id totally be completely content but thats just me but im sure others would feel the same i cant wait for it ive been playing soooo many different games waiting for this and i keep coming back every monday hoping for just a pic or so it would be really awesome but i understand if it doesnt work out well

    i would never put a pint of mayonnaise or ketchup or mustard or dressing or whatever of these disgusting afoodimations anywhere near my tongue or body in general I despise the idea of being even close to those and if the apocalypse ever happened i would rather die to being burned alive while having zombies rip my entrails out and tear my cheek off my face than ever even as much as looking at a bottle of ketchup / mayonaise / mustard / salad dressing 

    i dont even eat those ingame when i see em i just pack em up and throw them into the river at west point and then i just imagine them being washed off into the deepest layers of hell where theyll turn into dust

    and i never go back to that dreaded spot at the river

    cause its no longer a spot at the river

    its just a spot of shame

    and disgust

    and hate

     

     

    if all the things i mentioned were sentient id torture them to death

    I would also love to see warpaint kinda stuff then, like painting your face blue or drawing red lines across your eyes with corresponding paint color buckets, it would be cool for multiplayer or just general roleplay i would run a blue frog group and have em wear blue lines or face paint it would be pretty cool.

    ALSO
    This would probably be hard to implement but also cool would be skin progression when you get infected, like halfway in your character would get sunken eyes and notably but not too notably greener / purple-er skin and get the frail body effects with rip cage bones and such.

    It would be cool to see little details like that especially now with 2x tiles and the bigger zoom levels that make you notice way more stuff and little details like that, you could then also really see that someones about to turn without having to check their medical status

  9. Thank you very much I try my best not to make the roofs oversized or flat on houses this means most of the houses will be rather small-mediumish (even the rich gated community ones) but they make up for that by being nicer to look at and live in and they got working attics :D

    Thanks for the info I'll try importing my map with the veggie one later on I can't wait to see it all working ingame

    IM GLAD! It would be like the knife kills we got right now where you always get an instant kill on the zombie and you have this quick special animation where you grab the top of the zombies head and jam the knife into its jaw, it would be like that with axes and machetes but with a different more appropriate animation.

    IMO though the way it is is fine, getting an axe lodged for 2 secs in every zombie is going to get you dead pretty quick. It would be really neat if it were an accidental thing whereby a bad swing gets lodged, and you choose between pulling it out while the horde closes in or letting it go and having the zed shamble back into the horde with your axe.

    No, I don't want to play yet another boring game where all you do with every single melee weapon on earth is the same boring generic swing to the side and repeat it a few million times until your victim is dead.

How about this you take pancake dough and waffle dough and then you make the pancake and cut about half of it off and then you kinda like mix the half of it into the waffle and then bake the waffle up and then youll have some kind of hermaphrodite pancwaffle abomination that is waffle on the outside but pancake on the inside bam no more being torn about your feelings cause you have both of em in one bite and one product just remember that with great power comes great responsibility

It's seriously frustrating that a fireaxe or any sharp weapon actually has the same dumb swinging til they're dead bullshit that every other game has, I'm hoping the animation update atleast adds in special combat for sharp weapons like when you hit a zombie with a fireaxe they always instantly die but a kill takes like 2 seconds for the animation where you see him slamming the axe into the skull and then kicking the zombie off, if we get the same generic gamey swing-the-axe-to-the-rotten-decomposed-face-9-times-til-theyre-dead shit I'll be thoroughly disappointed especially after like 5 polar cap meltdowns of waiting and "we're working on it" 's I still cant wait for it and check the mondoids daily and am pumped but I just want you to know that I'd be way less pumped if fireaxes have the exact same combat as blunt weapons just with more damage. 

    Will we at least get cool special killing animations for sharp weapons like the fireaxe?
