    Glad to have participated in a new Megatest!
     
    I've noticed lag as always, and the zombies pushing them to the ground blinked. Also, when I was moving in a vehicle, distant zombies suddenly appeared.
    I had a lot of rubber banding in my car, and I even hit invisible objects.

    New zombie network transmission system.  
     
    Two circles with radiuses definable in server options:
     
    ZombieUpdateRadiusHighPriority (default 10 tiles)  - zombies in this tile radius circle from a player will be transmitted to that player every frame, meaning their movement will be smooth and precise. ZombieUpdateMaxHighPrority (default 500) can be used to limit the amount of zombies in this circle (ordered by those closest to the player) that will receive these high frequency updates, so in the midst of the horde only the closest few will be precisely transmitted to clients (the most relevant zombies).
    ZombieUpdateRadiusLowPriority  (default 300 tiles) - zombies in this tile radius circle will be updated to the player infrequently, enough to keep track of their approximate movement, but when low accuracy is needed since they are not close to a player. Uses the amount of seconds defined by ZombieUpdateDelta (default 0.5 seconds) to define how frequently the server will send these zombies. Lower ZombieUpdateDelta values will make them more precise at cost of server load and network traffic. Higher values result in less traffic but more obvious pausing, sliding and glitching.
     
    Zombies outside the outer low priority radius will never be transmitted to the client, and will be invisible. Depending on the config and player's resolutions and zoom modes, this may cause zombies not to be visible at a distance with 4k res, or when right click scrolling the view, or when driving a car fast, but is potentially a sacrifice worth taking for a stable and performant server, and this effect can be reduced by expanding the outer radius to suit your own needs. We can look at adjusting the defaults further once we've seen what the server runners go with for their options, as it's hard for us to judge how far we could push it on a 60 player server, so our defaults start off relatively conservative.
     
    Out of the box, with default settings, it will be have just like previous builds, but server operators can adjust these numbers to gain better performance. After xmas we'll adjust the defaults and work on this more once we have more info.

    Hey guys- we've got another multiplayer madness megatest coming up for anyone who'd like to participate! The Spiffospace server is running a brand new IWBUMS build, featuring some exciting new multiplayer zombie performance improvements! We're trying to test out multiplayer stability with this new system, so having as many people on as possible would be great!
     
    All we need is for you to be running around on the server for an hour or so and having fun!
     
    Event begins at roughly 5 PM on December 18th!
     
    The main testing point is how zombie movement looks on the server, especially zombies close to you. Zombies farther away may not be as consistent, but we're hoping the closest zombies to you should be more consistent now.
     
    KEY GIVEAWAY IS FINISHED!
     
    During the event we will check all players active on the server and those will be given codes. You'll want to post in this thread or message Rathlord on Discord to claim your code if you are online for the giveaway!
     
    SERVER DETAILS:
     
    *Join the IWBUMS testing branch of the game. If you don't know how, follow the instructions here.
    *Join the official Spiffospace Canada server through the game's server listing.

    Please report any buginess, crashes, etc that you find here in this thread. This test is to check on multiplayer stability and general playability of the build. We'd really like to hear how consistent zombie behavior is, especially those closest to you.

    Random keys in zombies
    Zombies only drop keys if we kill them inside a house, and the key is from that house always.
    It'd be great if it was more random.

    Less obvious zombification
    When we have a scratch, if we heal up and wait a few hours, we can know if we are infected or not, simply by checking if we get the "OK" message on the health panel.
    This should be like with hypochondriac trait, getting sick randomly and not receiving the "OK" message until the wound heals completely.

    Moved (previously in right click menu) debug stuff (items list, stash debug, player stats) to the new debug panel.
    Player launching a game in debug is now automatically ghost/invincible.
    Added ghost/god mod tickbox in the stats & body debug panel.
    God mod now also set hunger to 0 (never hungry!)
    Toned down door shake a bit.
    Toned down rusle and hit shake for large trees.
    Wind sways a bit more natural
    Added random rustles to trees.
    Added gusty/breezy noise to wind (also applies to rain angle)
    Changed split wind in 2 sets (trees and low vegetation)

    If you freeze fish or any other animal, you may be able to filet or cut it without problems and it appears fresh instantly.

    It's that time again.
     
    Spiffospace IWBUMS has been updated to the latest IWBUMS build and needs some heavy testin'. Thirty keys will be handed out to those that stick around for half an hour or so.

    More professions should have perks unique to them, similar to how the Ranger can move through trees faster. Some professions are rather weak, especially when they can be leveled up passively while playing under another class which can make it difficult to justify choosing them. I'd suggest buffing the burglar with a lock pick skill that lets you open locked doors without triggering alarms.
