    Hi all, here’s the latest from the internal test build of the Build 41 MP beta – which we’re working on and fixing up until it’s of a standard appropriate for wider testing.
     
    Our current routine is for a playtest of 10, or so, players every Wednesday night – with a report the next day for the community. Which is where you find us today!
     
    First off, here’s the changelist of everything that had been added for the seven days previous to last night’s test.
     
    Second off, here’s a brief highlights reel from proceedings.
     
    Last night’s test had a Prison Break theme, with a cross-country dash intended to test vehicles. It was a lot of fun, and again very valuable in terms of exposing bugs and showing what’s improved – and would could do with further refinement.
     
    Key areas we need to focus on are:
     
    There are still some occasional zombies that we have dubbed ‘superzeds’ that tend to teleport straight in front of the player and attack. Some players seem to get this more than others, irrespective of their own personal ping. Vehicle sync, player sync within vehicles and ‘player name drift’ during transit are all improved – but not completely. Physics bugs (video seen below) are also still present, but not quite as insane. Yuri is also still looking into ways to improve memory use and optimize map loading, as we suspect ‘traffic cone blockages’ on new map chunks will become more of an issue on higher population servers. Zombie death and corpse placement is still an issue – which Andrei will hopefully put in a fix for in coming days. We need to tighten up players in your local area, as sometimes the teleport we’re using to ‘catch up’ is too aggressive. This works fine, but will cause issues for PvP.

    Shift+double click can now be used on clothing items in the inventory to wear the item Newest earned skill level is now highlighted when the skill panel is opened New hair styles and hair functions Improved movables system – movables can now be dismantled from within the inventory.  
    SPIFFO’S FINAL THOUGHT (AGAIN, AGAIN):
    Although everything is looking very positive with the MP stuff PLEASE note that we still have a pretty long ‘to do’ list before we can consider a public IWBUMS beta release and Community Megatests.

    We are sorry for being such massive teases with this stuff, but we hope you’ll agree it’s better than some sort of radio silence.

    Post what you think is the best build gameplay wise you can make for build 41 (no RP builds). It can be a combat focused, stealth, etc.
    The trait point must not be negative to be a valid build. We're not counting the OP extra trait point builds.

    Slow Reader Hard of Hearing Weak Stomach Smoker Hemophobic A combat focused build focusing on the Police profession for fast level of gun skills while having stout trait for melee combat while having average stealth due to not taking clumsy and conspicuous.

    I have long said that it is ridiculous that a zombie gains super powers while falling, rather than the sensible conclusion that it should be extra weak and vulnerable while falling, not super powered

    The recovery on this animation is awful. I'm standing still for a good second but I can't do anything, I can't shove, I can't swing, I can't move, all while my character is standing upright. It would be great if that animation had my character still backpedaling throughout the animation so I'm not rooted in place long enough for a zombie to grab me every time. The zombie almost always has enough time to get up on you and grab you, which is when its too late to shove. This animation is usually triggered when a zombie that flopped over a fence or through a window pushes you back (somehow they get superhuman upper body strength when laying down)

    Hello everyone! In the Project Zomboid It is possible to carry fuel ONLY in gasoline cans, which looks a little strange as it is possible to do it in bottles and similar containers (Beer bottles, bleach bottles, and so on)
    And also  Transfer water in gasoline cans, which would also be very useful.

    I've found a few different recipes that I personally thought should have ingredients as options that were not present. There was only one that I would mainly like added, however, and probably the most logical out of what I've found. I'd love to be able to make tuna salads, especially when I have an abundance of crops and cans of tuna (it seems to be more common and used in less foods).
     
    Two other minor suggestions is the ability to add ingredients to soup (canned soup in pot is a complete meal, no optional ingredients) and fried eggs. I had eggs and pans without rice or noodles for a significant amount of time, and I just kept wishing I could cook some sunny-side up eggs.

    Hello fellow survivors! 
     
    Myself and my clan known as 82DK or the 82nd Dread Korps, having played the game "Foxhole" for three/four years have been looking for another game to sink our teeth into.  Out of the many we have tried Project Zomboid always ranked on top.   Sadly we didn't believe the game had the polish to entertain us long term.  With build 41 we believe that problem to have been fixed.
     
    I would like to announce that after build 41 becomes available to multiplayer my clan intends to host the largest server we can with the intention of both playing the game and roleplaying. We have simple yet very fun plans for the server and already have a large community very interested in the game.  Roleplay and griefing will be policed and actions will have consequences across the map.  We hope you alone or with a group of friends will join us on the server when build 41 arrives.  
     
    Streamers are more than welcome in what we hope to be a secure eventful server.  If you are interested in securing a spot for yourself or a team of up to three please contact me for further details and for your chance to offer your opinions on server parameters, rules and events.

    Edit- Each server wipe will have a new theme to deal with as the clan will be what we like to refer to as the "NPC faction".  While player groups will be limited to three to four people our NPC faction will be much larger.  Don't worry!  This is NOT a ploy to simply steam roll smaller groups, we see our role as more of a way to enrich the world with threat or benefit.  For instance a theme of an evil pharmaceutical company one reset may be replaced by a staffed and working hospital next reset.

    The recent Spear change to make the instakill move, that oneshots zombies but roots the player, making it not happen when zombies are grouped near you but work at any other time seems to work very well. My suggestion to give the same change to Short Blades that can instakill, instead of its current chasingzombies > 1 = no instakill

    As an asian myself I find it a bummer to not be able to use vinegar into my food. I mean it's a main ingredient in most foods for us and I don't see why it can be used as well in pz, americans use vinegar on their food too right? this would be a good addition cause I have a stockpile of vinegar and I dont need them to preserve some veggies since they cost alot and you only get a few days worth.

    Now that you can open/close garage doors, I thought it'd be a good idea to make them disassemble-able with a propane torch/welding mask (as you can disassemble metal doors already).

    As pipe wrenches are pretty versatile, I think it would be a good idea to have them be able to function as a normal wrench does (for vehicle repairs). Maybe you could add some mechanics skill as a requirement for this since it'd take some adapting. Having worked at an oil change shop, I've learned lots of tools are very versatile (we were always missing the right tools).

    I was wondering if anyone had thos idea but,i had an idea,like you could climb certain objects or cars to get in a advantage point agaisnt zombies and reach high places from other points instead of taking the normal route

    Seeing things like crates, drawers and door frames in 3d, does this mean we can expect things like animated doors, or actual 3d crates (instead of sprites) in the world? Or even seeing our character carry crates etc. when they pick em up?
