Okay, so after a very short and brief testing of the cars, here's the feedback
As other have reported, the durability of your car (front in my case), can currently fall back way onto the negative side, but it's probably known and being worked on . Not sure what exactly it's planned by ruining your car to the extreme, but it would feel natural for your character to get damaged in extreme crashes, and maybe even set the car on fire? It's all up to developer imagination I assume :P. It would be nice to have some visual feedback when the car is heavily damaged, but that's of a low priority, as well. Upon my quite long route of driving (from Muldraugh to West Point's end of map), my fuel managed to refill magically. Sadly I don't know when exactly does it happens, but I was fiddling with everything in the meantime - getting out, turning lights, heater and radio on/off, tuning the radio, smashing my car and zombies and clicking and observing the car info state. It may be related to battery energy, as I have a feeling the battery sometimes wasn't draining as planned (not a car owner, but shouldn't battery drain when engine is not running and refill when it's not? I didn't appear any correlation honestly). Also, upon exiting the car, it seems that the battery stops being drained. I like how zombies slow you down, but I experienced no speed changes when driving at different terrains. Is that feature planned eventually? It would be a neat addition. In the end I ended up traveling on the train tracks and closed the game at the point where trees suddenly appeared on the tracks :D. Anyway, driving on the railroad tracks didn't differ on riding on an asphalt street much. I really like the car info panel! Having engine, lights, heater, doors, windows and other usable information is really neat. I don't understand the meaning of them all, I suspect in the future it will be possible to remove car parts and have a cart with some parts missing? The current labels are a little confusing, with "Set" being quite ambiguous term. I suspect it get some major overhauling later on, as it seems WIP, but I'm pointing it in advance :). Also, the car names are currently placeholder, I hope you came up with something creative down the line, like Furd cars :). Also, it might make sense to move the door HP to the  main interface, so you could see it all the time, without clicking the doors to see their HP, similar how front and back damage counter is displayed. Speaking of attacking doors, it seems weird the zombie are intelligent enough to come over your car just to attack the doors you are in. It is marginally harder if they are only attacking the doors, but it would feel more natural if they simply attacked the closest doors they are at instead. I would be totally fine with lower doors HP and zombie attacking whatever they are closest to, else I imagine we will never see damaged passenger doors until NPC are implemented in the single player I also noticed that currently the cars have no storage capacity. I hope it's planned somewhere down the road though  It would really feel the shame, if you couldn't use the storage found on your cars. (See EDIT4!) Moving a step further, it would be cool to have search cars for the loot that might be left inside the car, the glove compartment and/or the actual car trunk, the first accessible after opening the car or breaking the window (if that option will be implemented, as I believe only zombies can break the windows now :P) and the latter only with opening/picking/destroying the actual lock on the trunk. Also cars with alarms are a natural to have here. But again, that's going into the future . In the meantime, I'm eagerly awaiting a storage in my cars Speaking of the missing features, I am surprised there isn't a palceholder for honking a car horn to attract zombies. It would be nice to have tires at some point that would puncture when driving on rough terrain that would need replacing, but again, that's a far fetched feature. When it comes to the actual interaction, I like how you can access the info about the car by simply right clicking on it.  Would it be possible to add ability to enter the car from right menu and also to bring a radial menu by right clicking? It's kinda similar to my previous suggestion of unifying how picking world object looks like, where moving more items to a right click (even if optionally), might simplify the basic game usage.  When it comes  to general performance, I experienced FPS dropping to about 17 down the road, though I have unsolved performance issues that might persist from a previous build. Not sure if it's my OS side, or the game, but I will wait for the actual optimization to come before focusing on them. Also, I tend to experience red errors on various occasions that are persisting since the previous build. Simply launching the game through Steam gives me 1 red error, that is most likely caused by me having disabled console output for Steam, opening crafting menu still give me errors and I had plethora of errors upon crashing into the black void at the end of the map (like, 50,000+). None are actually crashing the game though, although they might cause some slowdowns. I also experienced a lot of popping trees, but I suspect it will be polished out too. TL;DR
BUGS: Widely reported no damage effect Regenerating fuel and battery Zombies are totally ignoring doors you are not sitting close to FUTURE FEATURES REQUESTS: Improvements to car info panel (showing door hp without clicking, having proper car names, rephrasing some phrases, e.g. "Set") Storage space + random loot found in cars (someone suggested it before) Car horn! Ability to enter the car with right click and bring the radial menu with right click (as an alternative to existing controls) Terrain affecting car handling (or wear)
EDIT: I forgot to mention one bug - the car are currently visible in pitch black areas you can't see now, i.e. you can see the cars through walls.

EDIT2: I'm attaching a console.txt file that generated while I was playing the game. It's raw size is a whooping 18.2 MB, but since the most line are NullPointerExceptions, it compressed to only a little over 20KB. I'm attaching it in hopes it will help fixing some of the issues I mentioned
    console.txt.7z

EDIT3: I forgot to mention,  that my game probably also crashed when trying to get back to menu, as what previous poster had. I finally focefully closed the game instead of waiting, but the game might just be frozen at that point. Didn't assigned it with vehicles at first, but seeing someone else reported that it might as well be.

EDIT4: Actually it was rightfully pointed to me you guys already though about the storage space inside the car! There's both the glove compartment AND a passenger seat there as well as the actual trunk you can only access while outside the car - again, as expected :). Now, the only things missing are space on the back seats, unless my car is planned to be a two-seater

I have a quick suggestion about the keyboard controls for starting a car. Perhaps you could have a pop-up "window" into a view of the keyhole, and the player could hold the interact key and they would stick the key in, and then they could hold the A key or the right arrow to turn the key. As long as they hold both down, the car will be revving, and they just hold that until it starts. This would be a great and interactive way of starting the car, and players might even end up nervously mashing their keyboard buttons to get the car to start when they're in a pinch (a nod toward the 90's horror trope you guys said you wanted to add).

Just for consideration. Add a visual effect for when the digital watch alarm is going off. Make the time flash red or something perhaps? I'm a little hearing impaired and don't hear the upper ranges. Never have. The pitch the digital alarm uses is right on the line for my hearing. One day I can hear it but not the next.

So there I am strolling through Zomboid WestPoint attracting a crowd. Sure, I'm a conspicuous clutz but sheez.. Aha, just the alarm going off. Yeah by now I'm pretty good about keeping tabs on the alarm situation but maybe a visual aid would help others in the same boat. Just tossing the idea out there.

I think that a system of overexploitation should be worked on, but that everything in the subject of scouring and fishing, at least for a longer time in which an area can have resources again, it is rare that my character gets berries next to the Base and I just have to wait for the next day to re-search the same area, I will survive at berries point, I would also like to take into account the over exploitation of the aquatic life, if my character fishes too much in an area the pesces Should not appear for a long time, at least that the need to explore new areas in search of resources, or at least that the botin is restilled progressively, is a way in which it would help to give more realism to the life in the forest.

It would be great to be able to distribute a little more the booty of nature, in an area you can get medicinal plants easier, in another area you can get berries with more abundance, in another you can get more wild animals, and thus give a random , To make some areas with more abundance for certain types of resources, would be great as when hunters must travel different areas to hunt so they can not be riding their traps in the same place forever.

This will help in the future when npc animals are placed.
Watch out for the spiffo wolf can be adorable but biting hard.

    405. Annotated map should also include region name, for example "Muldraugh Map - annotated" or similar
    406. Allow us to rename the maps
    407. Take Fuel action should use empty gas cans first. Also, why not to use the same menu as filling water from taps?
    408. Ability to use matches/lighter from bag to smoke cigarettes (I thought I saw that idea somewhere too, but I couldn't find it, so maybe not?)
    409. It's really hard for me to use the radial temperature dial in ovens properly. How about clicking instead of turning?
    410. Ability to unlock (but not open) doors from the inside. It seems that it is currently possible only if you have keys. It would be nice to not having to open the door potentially risking getting seen by zombies, only if you want to unlock the doors for future.
    411. Restructurize Skill menu a little bit - move Firearms skills above crafting skills and merge Survival and Crafting (they are very similar anyway, for example Farming is in Crafting while Trapping in survival, and they are arguably very similar skills - that way all the skills that can be improved with books will be grouped together separately from weapon skills
    412. Open Canned Beans should be used in evolved recipe
    413. Use the same highlight color for highlighting doors (when hovering a key) as the one chosen for highlightng containers
    414. Meat shouldn't be found on "ICE" freezers at the gas station. I think it should only spawn with cold pack and maybe some icecreams

Billwa, can you cite where the developers 'literally promise shit'? I haven't seen that yet. I thought they said personal hygiene wasn't going to make it into the game? Maybe you are incorrectly using the word literally? Perhaps figuratively is the word you're looking for. They are often misused.

Features will be done when their done. If you don't have the patience, maybe Early Access games are not for you. TIS is very upfront about Early Access on their Steam page. Perhaps you should have read it before purchasing.

You've been a member of these forums for over 3 years now and have posted 23 times. Recently, they have all been negative posts. What are you hoping to accomplish other than to piss some people off? What good do you expect from it? If you don't expect any good, why are you bothering?

Perhaps a more constructive approach would be more useful? While I do not agree with the OP's suggestion, I do appreciate their constructive efforts to help progress the development of this game.

I understand what you are saying along with IndigoRebel, but let me give you some free advice and I promise you it is worth every penny. Before I do, though, let me explain that I am not a high school or college student. I'm in my 50's. I have a family and a job I've worked for the last 17 years. In 2010, I went back to college, while working and got my associates, my bachelor's and my MBA degrees. I actually picked up PZ while working and getting my MBA. I credit much of my sanity to this and other computer games - most of which are early access.

    Now the advice:

Life falls into a number of categories, too numerous to list independently, but three very important ones are work, family and entertainment. If either of you want to reach my age, you need to learn that the third is as important as the first two, yet neither should be sacrificed for the others. Your work pays the bills, not just the ones for now, but the ones for the future. it's important, but it isn't the only thing. Family are the people that count on you and those that you can count on. They are also important. Without family, work and entertainment, even life in general will start to feel unimportant. Never forget about family. Now, let's talk about entertainment. Entertainment is the cornerstone to your sanity and your health. We live in an extremely challenging world full of stress. Not properly kept in check, stress can ruin your mental and physical health. Amazingly, entertainment helps to deal with stress, even though it may actually create stress of its own. As much as I know my survivor in PZ is doomed to die, I try to keep him or her alive as long as possible and when he or she stresses, so do I. But it's a good stress and it helps me to forget about the real stresses of living in a Trump world full of idiots who think he and Alex Jones are the only ones with the right answers. You need this. I'm not saying just video games, but whatever it is you enjoy doing to escape, if only briefly, from the stress of living.

The problem is, all three of these tug on a person and their time. Twenty-four hours never seems to be long enough and it feels like something has to give. What you, I, and everyone else needs to do is find a balance. You may not be able to do all the things you would like to do all the time, but that doesn't mean you can't do them. Balance is important. So, play PZ, go to the movies, watch football, whatever it is that lets you relax, you have to do it. Just don't make it your life. You also have family and work.

That same advice goes for your survivor, by the way. While your job might have you working 8, 10, 12 or more hours per day cracking undead skulls, you need time for that comic book or a newspaper now and again, if just to take you away. And devs, if you are reading, we need NPC's, too. Family is important.

Hmmm Deadpixels needs this, needs this badly. Also about cars will we be able to get Trailers and stuff we could maybe attatch on the back of our pickups or vans or maybe even a semi? Or maybe even a mobile generator like this one? These could be used to power our bases or even throw all our stuff from looting on them!

Unfortunately anything close to Mad Max is simply not realistic and above all would make your car undrivable, heavy junk.

I've been in over a dozen debates about this back in the Undead Labs forum so I already have my research organized, but here is my TL;DR since I don't want to just dump a wall of text.

And I recognize that my opinions are not facts and am willing to converse, trust me I am not trying to strongarm here.

Handling takes a massive impact, the cars become heavy and sluggish, visibility is reduced to the point that every average driver will run into things, and unfortunately you cannot simply weld things to cars and expect them to stay there.

Mounted guns are probably going to be a no, and if anything should be inaccurate as hell when driving, not more accurate. Having the driver being able to shoot while the car is moving also probably isn't going to hit anything unless they physically take all their attention off the wheel and road.

Having people in the passenger side and back seat shoot (at an accuracy penalty) would be the only realistic implementation of shooting from vehicles, and please, developers, do not include this if there is no way for passerbys to shoot back into the vehicle since the player models "disappear" into the car model with opaque windows.

Ram Prow is just going to get stuck in potholes, small hills, and ruin the weight balance on the vehicle, and also are not designed to hit "deadites" if you are counting the real-life variations of this (snow plows).

Extra armor would be reasonable to a point as long as it affects visibility.
