Footmuffin reacted to Keepbro in No NPC mentions policy
Lemmy - I love you and I truly mean this from the heart but next time don't write out "War And Peace" to what is the equivalent of a "All PZ devs are fagz" style post. Its silly and quite beneath you. Its doing nothing but stressing you out and pandering to some dicks ranting. The twat didn't deserve the level of care and consideration that you put into the reply. Ignore the tosser, get some rest and enjoy your programming.

Don't even mention them the week before. That's just asking for trouble!
Just release them in secret one day and hope for the best. It will be a nice little surprise

Footmuffin reacted to Clayman in No NPC mentions policy
I have literally never played a game with better developers. Hard working, and very engaging with the community. It's sad that a few people adds stress to your life like that.
I personally don't care at all about NPC's, and I think your "no more mentioning NPC's" policy, is probably a very smart move. Even if you guys stopped working on the game right now, i feel like i have got my $ worth many many times over.
I have yet to write a review on steam, but I will soon. Stay cool devs.

Could we live and sleep inside of cars? If we spawn with the keys to our own house, would we also spawn with the keys to our cars if any were present?

Will we get to see simple, domestic social interactions between NPCs? Like the group having dinner and discussing things or some survivors bonding over barricading, Zafehouse Diaries-style? I'd love to see interaction on that level.

Will a higher difficulty level ever be a challenge?
Here is what I mean to ask. Choosing 8 months in instead of Survival as a difficulty level the game becomes more of a grindfest. But the game still doesn't require you to think to survive. Beating up a battalion of 3 year olds is tedious and boring. Killing another sniper in a duell is a proper fight.
Does the team view this as a problem and will it ever be adressed?

What do you think of the Hydrocraft mod? Has it influenced plans for the the base game at all? Has anyone on the team played with it? Also what you you think of Dr. Pickin's soda?
Side question ... Will there be a Pet Store called "Hydro's Pet Store" on the future map that sells NPC dogs?
PS I would also be ok with "Hydro's Aquarium" as a building instead.

2 More questions from me: Will there be more spawning locations in the future? For example, if you take the cop profession and just starting up inside your house seems weird to me, I mean police officers are supposed to serve and protect, right? It'd be cool with the NPC's added someday that you could maybe start up in the police station's conference room while an emergency meeting is being held regarding the current situation, or something similar.
The second shorter question; Will we be able to dig graves someday? Atleast when the NPC's are added, I want to make sure my dead companions may truly rest in peace.

Footmuffin reacted to tucho in Planetbase on Steam Greenlight
Hi there, our game Planetbase is on Steam Greenlight. The game is being made by just 5 people; I'm the responsible of all the visuals (except for the UI), from the art direction to the asset creation.
I hope you like it, any vote or help to spread the project is more than welcome
I paste below the content of our Steam Greenlight page. Later on I'll post more stuff on this same thread, as soon as I have a bit of time to set up some pictures of the models, etc.
In the meantime you can find more pictures from this project on our website
Planetbase is a strategy game where you guide a group of space settlers trying to establish an outpost in a remote planet.
In the game you play the role of the base architect and manager, telling your colonists where to build the structures they will need to survive. You will have to ensure that they have an constant supply of oxygen, food and water to stay alive.
You will get them to collect energy, extract water, mine metal, grow food, manufacture bots, and build a fully self-sufficient base.
Even if the game is not intended to be a simulator, all the mechanics are plausible, and based on what the expected challenges of establishing a colony in an new planet would be.
Three different planets with different conditions and increasing difficulty.
Harness solar and wind energy (if available) in order to power the base's structures.
Grow hydroponic Vegetables and synthesize Vitromeat to feed your population.
Mine and produce raw resources, process them, manufacture goods, and establish a production chain.
Carefully manage the colonist immigration flow to ensure you have the people with the right skills.
Survive disasters like meteors, sandstorms or solar flares and defend your base from intruders.
Mechanize your base by manufacturing your own bots that will help with the more arduous tasks.
Grow your colony from a few initial pioneers to a vibrant planetbase with hundreds of colonists.
Madruga Works is a studio founded by Martiño Figueroa and Tucho Fernandez, two ex-EA and ex-Ubisoft veterans of the games industry, you can find more info about us at our website
The expected release date for the game is September 2015.

Footmuffin reacted to SpaceMammoth in Mammoth Gravity Battles - 3D turn based gravity wars
I'm an indie dev working on "Mammoth Gravity Battles", a 3D turn based strategy/artillery game for multiple platforms, similar to the classic gravity wars/death star battles. Its going to have four player pass-n-play battles, a story/campaign mode, multiple weapons and destructible planets. I'm very excited about the progress of the game, its coming on nicely.

Well you gotta play your money smart my friend. There are sites that exist that allow you to buy keys for game dirt cheap and its all legit also. Example i can buy a 10 pack of keys for about 4 US dollars. I keep these keys for the people whom i care about the most (my community) and then i spread the love to the game i love the most (Project Zomboid). Humble Bundle's are also great ways to get a bunch of games dirt cheap while helping the greater good by choose that your payment goes to charity, you can choose to pay the devs also.

About vehicles:
Do you plan to add an upgrade system for vehicles? Ie. put sheets of metal on windows (either use nuts and bolts or weld them on solid) which would require diffetent tools (drill, spanner, or a welder/blow torch) and different skills to be used. How about changing a flat tyre or random breakdowns. A car mechanic profession maybe? He together with handiman (to a smaller extent) would be able to perform repairs and diagnostics similar to how health panel works.
