  1. Unless it's a metal ladder. Most sturdy enough to not be destroyed aren't very portable. The heavy metal ladders on fire escapes I could see as indestructible by zombies... the cheap aluminum ones you buy at stores could easily be rendered useless as a ladder (I know, I've gone through quite a few over the years).
  2. You must be interacting with zombies in a far different manner than I do...
  3. Except on Sandbox with No Transmission option... Then it takes a bit more... But for the default scenarios, you are correct.
  4. That brings up an odd question (and would probably take a linguistic to answer) if gender is specific to each language or there's enough similarities. Like, I wonder if all the ones that are neutral in say Deutsch are all the same gender in (either all masculine or all feminine) in French. Regardless, it'd probably be easier to simply code the existence of the variable (defaulting to Neutral) and a bit to select the adjective/determiner. Then have the actual addition of non-neutral gender (and non-neutral adjectives/determiners) under language files. (I did a lot of modding to Civ IV and V but never did much with langauges since I'm not bilingual - I understand grammar for Deutsch but know little vocabulary as I wasn't a fan of memorization by rote and preferred memorization through use - but I recall seeing the variables in the XML).
  5. I'm assuming you are referring to the running animation while empty-handed and using "Ctrl" to look around (which is technically fast sneaking and should look goofy) because just outright running empty-handed didn't appear this way to me.
  6. the problem with this particular assumption is that the lore the game follows makes it so we don't know just what started the outbreak in the first place. yeah, but you'd assume that the clothes would have infected blood on it from the wounds/bites that infected the person in the first place. even if the flesh itself isn't directly an infection risk, the dried/congealed blood on the clothes would make putting them on an open wound a bad idea. That goes on the assumption that whatever causes the infection is transmitted by blood. Since you don't risk infection when you bash a zombie's brains in with a bat (and believe me, you'd get splattered) and instead when you're scratched or bitten, that to me rules out blood alone as a source of transmission. We also don't know how long the infection can survive outside (if it even can) another organism, so the clothes might be perfectly safe (I could see this as an option for sandbox or mods though, but not necessarily standard to the game).
  7. Yo! Another aproach to this could be that the player gets a happiness boost when actually manages to fish something. Like in real life! You may spend hours looking at the pole in the sea (or the river), you'll get bored, but then, suddenly, the thing actually start to move and you manage to catch the poor fish and... happiness boost I really like these changes and I like this suggestion too As someone that often plays a fisherman, I always found it weird that my character would get bored when fishing lol. It would be really cool if certain actions being successful or doing something related to your chosen traits affected your characters mood as well I'll jump on this as well... I don't fish often but when I actually catch something, I do get a sense of achievement and pride out of it. Side note: There should be a trait for reducing boredom in general (I don't tend to bore easily because I have a vivid imagination and can distract myself with daydreams while doing menial chores that don't require much attention). And a trait for reducing boredom while reading skill books... I've always enjoyed learning something new and never got bored reading textbooks - especially in subjects I wanted learn - but I have a thirst for knowledge and often research things on my own to learn more about them (most recently, I was curious about national holidays in other countries so I spent about 4 hours reading about them on the net - started with curiosity about parallels to Independence Day/President's Day in other nations - Mexico, New Zealand, Japan and Serbia had their foundation holidays earlier this month).
  8. Technically with the evolved recipes (and the option to each 1/4 or 1/2 of something) food is kinda drainable...
  9. It doesn't? I recall showing remaining water left in containers like botles/cups... Same for drainables like pills, tissue, salt... If it's not showing now it might be a recent bug.
  10. Quite a few here use walk-in freezers. I know Pizza Inn and Godfather's both had walk-in freezers when I worked there. I've also worked as a caterer at some higher-class places that used large refridgerator-style freezers or horizontal freezers, but they weren't that common (usually when people needed portability - most established restaurants would spring for a walk-in freezer) A lot of convenient stores use them (especially the horizontal freezers - with glass lids for displaying frozen snacks) in addition to a walk-in freezer.
  11. You can if you drag the icon the your inventory and not the side bar where it shows containers.
  12. Just watched the video for it and - as a statement to how juvenile I can be - one of the times they opened their inventory I noticed "Nut" right above "Butter" and couldn't help chuckling... Also noticed the "Bowl of Cereal" looked more like a box in the screenshot.
  13. Depends on if it's an optional feature or not. If it's not optional it might create issues for players with connection issues or those who frequently have to step away from the computer for short periods.
  14. Yeah, I can understand that... I was just remarking on his comment about not being able to get splint materials without an axe. Would also be nice if you could break a chair leg off for making splints.
  15. Can't you get branches via foraging?
  16. In my experience it's easier to sneak in Sneakers because dress shoes tend to have harder soles that make more noise on solid surfaces (plus the lack of treads gives less traction in the outdoors).
  17. I sleep on the floor occasionally, and I find no discomfort in it. I would wager that the vast majority of people prefer to sleep in a bed. I have no empirical data to support this, but every single human that I personally know owns a bed that they sleep in. Why invest in a bed that takes up a lot of floor space and cost a fair amount of money if it wasn't more restful and comfortable for them? While some may find no discomfort in a flat, hard surface, I again would wager the vast majority of people would. I'll admit that I do occasionally sleep on the floor, but it is usually just quick naps where I don't want a long/deep sleep. I own a bed... even bought a Tempur Pedic mattress back when I was trucking that's on it now (wasn't as effective at preventing my tossing and turning as I'd thought plus it's hard as a rock when it gets cold, so I had an electric blanket to warm it up when I was getting ready to stop for the night).... but for the past decade or so I've slept on the couch instead... mainly because it's closer to my computer and I tend to wait until I'm about to pass out before I sleep and don't want to wander too far.
  18. Actually, I got the idea for that with chili from the 82 World's Fair... there was a place there called Petro's. They opened a place in Westgate mall after the fair and whenever I visited my brother (who lived in Knoxville) we'd go there for lunch.
  19. Yeah I'd like that as well (I'm a fitful sleeper in RL so I tend to wake up from various things - too hot, bad sleep position... no matter where I sleep or how comfortable the bed is, I toss and turn due to pressure on joints/circulation and wake up multiple times during the night only to shift and go back to sleep... full bladder is usually my body's alarm clock telling me it's time to get up ), plus I think the Overheating is a bit much... sometimes I get that just wearing jeans and shoes (no shirt) while indoors with the power still on... I live in North Alabama and it's hot and muggy here most of the time... and I wear jeans and long sleeves year round and seldom get overly bothered by the heat (except in winter when running the heater makes the house stuffy). It almost seems like we're playing a person who doesn't actually LIVE in Kentucky since you're not used to the weather.
  20. I wouldn't mind seeing more non-scratch/bite wounds from zombies... right now the first aid is pretty pointless to me since the only wounds you need to worry about are from broken windows/falls (outside of multiplayer, but if you're suffering from stabs/gunshots from other players, it's unlikely you'll live long enough to practice FA much anyway)... if you're wounded by a zombie, you're probably gonna die anyway (25% chance if it's a scratch, 100% if it's a bite). As for having a bite you need to stitch, it's rather pointless outside of a sandbox game/mods. Bitten = death anyway.
  21. Recipes is my major category of modding... there's lots of ingredients I add to dishes that aren't set up for it in PZ.... for instance, I often put black pepper on my sandwiches (habit I got into after eating so many subs...) and I frequently make salads like a sub sandwich with more lettuce than bread (including mustard, salt and pepper). Sometimes I use mainly fruit in my salads... or uncooked ramen crumbled up... Then there's chili... lots of possibilities there. I just had some beef and bean chili with crushed tortilla chips, shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, sour cream, onions, and sliced hot dogs... And I often cook roast using canned soup as a base (cream of celery or onion mainly)... I'm not even going to get started on the stuff I can do with fish... Of course, I'm a bit of a wizard in the kitchen.
  22. Unless that Ash has a chainsaw and a shotgun... then I don't the shovel's gonna be much help in removing him unless you sneak up behind him...
  23. Yes, I understand this... some things can make you feel full even when not providing necessary nourishment and feel hungry even when providing plenty of calories, but isn't the negative effects of hunger (lower capacity, slower healing and eventual death) still tied to the hunger stat/moodlets and not calories (at least it appears that way on the tooltips for the moodlets)?
