Florin got a reaction from MrStevenWolfe in Prying windows open with a crowbar
I'm absolutely certain this has been suggested at some point in the past, but the recently added lethality of smashed windows brings it new relevance. Add 'pry window' action to windows with a crowbar in inventory? Possibly not an instant success, but at least vastly increased odds over trying to force them open by hand.

Florin got a reaction from Packbat in Lighting!
Lightning is the leading cause of bushfires where I live. I'm still a little circumspect on the idea of fires randomly being started by lightning in game. I can see it having the potential to cause a great deal of chaos with no player agency whatsoever, which in my opinion is not a good thing. The player should get screwed over when they make a mistake, not when the game randomly decides to set stuff on fire.

If you took a baseball bat to someone's head, it wouldn't cause their blood to jet out the back of their skull and 20 feet up the road, especially if their body had been dead for three days and undergone livor mortis. But it's a game about zombies.

The idea of cannibalising a zombie corpse to construct some kind of elaborate zombie bodysuit just seems beyond ridiculous to me no matter which way you slice it. What sane person would be willing to walk around with rotting flesh draped all over them? Forget infection, how would you not make yourself horribly sick doing this for a hundred other reasons? Like I said, if you want it in your game, more power to you, it could be a worthy modding project. But I'm glad it's not in mine.

Well it probably wouldn't be impossible to mod something similar to it into your game if you really wanted, but I'm glad the developers have nixed it for their part, I don't think it would fit PZ at all.

I was just thinking that it would be cool if a VOIP chat was added where the volume level of the transmitter would effect the noise output of your character in game.

For instance you yell "Steve, Behind You!!" into your headset and your loud yell alerts lots of zombies to you!

Whispering Quietly would not attract zombies from as far away.

I think for immersion, this would be awesome! Currently when I use Steam Chat I can scream all I want to warn my friends of zombies behind them with no penalty! Zombies would hear you in RL.

Florin got a reaction from MrZombifiedGamer in Move 'pass out' description from tiredness to exhaustion.
It's easily possible to pass out from heavy sleep deprivation; I've done so. Your body just can't stay awake indefinitely. I haven't attempted to do strenuous physical activity like running down a street whilst sleep deprived. I imagine doing so would probably lead to your falling over and injuring yourself, then passing out.
The game doesn't model fatigue anywhere near perfectly though, there are still a lot of things in the game that increase tiredness where they should increase exertion. Tiredness should increase at a relatively constant rate through a character's waking hours. You shouldn't feel like a nap every time you do a bit of digging in your garden.

In that antiseptic isn't exactly rare in the game, treating an infected wound with regular maggots would probably make it worse, and I would fall off my chair laughing if I found an item in the game called "medical grade maggots".

Florin got a reaction from Coraxes in Idea for reorganizing expectation of difficulty in the game. Thoughts?
Don't call it "casual". It doesn't matter what you call it. Add a tooltip or somesuch that pops up the first time you start a game, with a message akin to "If you've never played PZ before, it is strongly recommended that you choose the beginner preset". A lot of games do this with their tutorial. Development endorsement for starting out slow helps people feel less wimpy about it.

Florin got a reaction from MadAtlas in Removing glass from windows
I take back what I said about glass wounds not being serious. I nearly lost a character to a window cut today, as well. I suffered a deep wound with glass shards in it. I had a pair of tweezers to get rid of the glass, but not a needle and thread. Bandaging didn't stop the health loss, so I had to make a mad dash for the clinic to find something to stitch the wound up, hemorrhaging all the way. I didn't die, but now I'm suffering from an unusual bug where I can't get rid of the stitches - removing them gives me a scratch, which I then have to bandage, and when I try to change the bandage the stitches reappear.

Realism must be balanced against gameplay. You're right that things break in PZ much more quickly than they would in real life, but there's a deliberate time dilation going on in the game that makes it both more playable and more of a challenge. The flip side of this is, for example, the ability to grow crops much faster in the game than in real life.

I also realised that I was using my knockdown weapons one handed when I wrote my earlier post. You get noticeably better mileage out of your stamina when using knockdown weapons two handed rather than one handed. I'm used to using them one handed; probably a bad habit. I'd still rather use a knife right now, though.

I know it probably gets suggested daily, but I havent seen it in the commmonly suggested thread.
    (or didnt look closely)

-alarm clocks (electronical (with batterie) and mechanical

    -windchimes

-walkie talkies (make use of batteries again)

    -firecrackers

    -toy-robots

-throwing a glass bottle that breaks and makes noise...

basically anything that can be used to distract zeds to walk into a desired direction and away from the player (or towards the enemies)

shouldnt be so hard to implement, no ??
(well for devs or modders anyways)

80% for moderate exhaustion. Didn't see the high moodle (might be a bug). Jumps to extreme exertion around 40%.Checking.
