RELEASED: IWBUMS Build 38.15

Found a weird bug with the new Riverside map area, in this house that my character is looking at:

(Sorry that I couldn't be more specific about the location, but PZ map project doesn't have the new map yet and I'm not sure how to get my current coordinates)

There are multiple fridges in the same spot, as seen here:

You can see them in the loot window, and you can also see a bit of the fridge which is behind the fridge and highlighted in orange because I'm currently looting it.

Many things in one post, apologize if this is a bad read or has been reported already.

 

Actual bugs:

I don't have carpentry but am still able to repair the hammer anyways. I have already successfully repaired it in this picture despite not meeting the requirement.

 

New map issues @MashPotato

1. Oversight - Not sure on coordinates, but the new neighborhoods in riverside are all missing mailboxes - haven't found one in my limited exploration. Have found a lot of cool new houses with the attached garages, so that's cool.

 

2. The two-floor bar is missing railings and due to the cluster of walls that make vision convoluted it is pretty easy to run off the floor.

3. There are many issues of stacked furniture, especially in some of these kitchens. Here's a taste:

Wall vision issues:

The building and roof next to this one is overlapping the interior here and there is no way to see what's alongside that wall because of what's in the way.

 

And still,

This has been fixed when looking at the back of buildings from the opposite direction (from right to left) but when looking at the rear of the building (from behind the building) from the left side, you cannot see what's there. It might not make sense as much of an issue but this is something that definitely needs to be fixed. If you were running through yards from something and needed to get inside, you would have no idea what windows/doors there are (or if zed are inside those windows) until you actually reach the building.

 

Furniture issues @turbotutone

 

The maroon office tables cannot (or can no longer) be moved.

 

Other than that, that's all I got so far. Will switch back over to vehicle build after it gets the map update and get back to contributing to that thread.

Hi, this update completely broke my game. It was working fine on version 38.9 (and lower) yesterday. After the update today I only see my character stats and inventory. I can't even see my character or anything else for that matter - screen is completely BLACK. Also, my strength for some reason went down to 8 from 14 and I can't even do right-click/context menu. BTW I am playing with the Hydrocraft and map mods but like I said they were working yesterday before this 38.10 update. Please do some more testing before releasing updates!

Using the backup files like that seems to indicate it crashed a bunch, but there's no problem with that player character. It loads fine in IWBUMS. I'd assume this means the problem is with the map_meta.bin character, as some zones might have changed in this build.

 

There's also no error in your console log, so I could be wrong here. Cut and paste map_meta.bin to your desktop then try loading the game.

You are the tester before the update is released, as per the IWBUMS conditions. There's simply no way to predict how mods will impact the game, outside of getting it out there to those that volunteer to face down its potential instability.

 

I'm assuming the problem lies with the map mod due to the image. Try starting a new game without the mod active and see if it works properly.

if so, we'll go from there.

@Enigma The map mod I'm using is the 'All In Zombie Map Pack' SP/Splitscreen.' Before I saw your message (and before I created my original message) I went ahead and created a new game, spawning in Maldraugh with all Maps Loaded option (I figured that you would ask something like this). Everything worked fine even with all my mods (Hydrocraft and Map) installed. I just now disabled the Map mod and reloaded my game and am still getting the all black screen. So I don't think it's related to the Map mod...

Drag and drop your map_p.bin file from your save file to your next reply. I can take a look here.

Ok I've attached my file. It's strange, I fast forwarded time in the game and my character wasn't even getting hungry, tired, bored, thirsty or anything. I'm going to try more tests.

Managed to get it to work without the other mods installed -- just the maps pack.

 

So I'm not sure what the cause is there.

Your character had a ton of wounds in the save file despite it being listed as OK on startup, as well.

Might not be useful to you, but I've attached the working version if you want to poke around it. Just be sure you don't overwrite your original save.

Log Wall Gates, Electric Lights, Hydrocraft (has armor/alice packs incorporated), Hydrocraft/ORGM Ammo Crafting, All In Zombie Map Pack SP/Splitscreen Enhanced, The PZ Real Gun Mod, Craft Help Mod (v1.1.2) for PZ 36.4, Advanced Trading Post, Driving Cars Mod, Heroic Weapons, Survivors (disabled because of massive lag in late end-game), Chainsaw Mod,  Display Zombie Health and PumpPower Updated.

 

I created a new world (spawning in Bedford Falls) with only the maps mod installed and copied my map_p.bin to that world. I was able to load my character correctly. Will do more testing. Do you know what kind of map changes were made? Perhaps existing tiles are no longer valid.

 

PS - I always backup my worlds in case of issues like this for troubleshooting but thanks for offering.

@Enigma I just create another world with only the maps mod enabled (again spawning in Bedford Falls All Maps Activated option) but this time I got these errors and it won't let me spawn:

OK after some more testing, I think 38.10 changes to base maps (or map definitions) broke existing modded maps and in turn broke the character if you're in the modded maps. This is what I did:

 

1. Created new world with map mod enabled, spawning in Bedford Falls (All Maps Activated Option)

2. Copied my current character's map_p.bin to new world. Current character loads up fine in the new world.

3. Ran to northwest of Bedford Falls on the road that heads to Phoenix. Exited the new world.

4. Copied map_p.bin from the new world back to my main world. My character appears at the new location in my main world.

5. Attempt to run back to my base but never got there. Along the way, the terrain has changed. Roads now contain trees and the lower half of the map is missing/black (See attached picture). My base is in the lower half which is why I ran into character issues

upon startup.

 

Lesson is: Don't play with modded maps in IWBUMS branch. However, we need to find these issues now before they get to the released branch where tons of people are playing with modded maps. Yes, modded maps can/will get updated

to work with base maps but you can run into base map bugs.

 

PS - These modded maps are working with the release 37.x branch btw.

Aha, good work.  I had The Walking Dead Prison map mod active even tho i was living/working in West Point and had kinda forgotten it was loaded. Itl try your fix...

Thing being, you won't need some of the all map pack hacks now (spawnpoints it is.), but, it still should work.

and added bedford falls in it, it worked nicely, could spawn in bedford using the all map spawn point.

 

Could you zip me your mod, send it to me, and also tell me what map specifically crash with the mod?

 

Also: yes, please play with modded map on IWBUMS, those tests are here to detect bugs, i can't test every mod combination possible, just as the title say, back up your save, then report bugs, it'll really help the community (and me :p)

I'm trying to spawn in Bedford Falls (All Maps Activated) option. I think that internally there are different spawns in Bedford Falls. When you try to spawn at 13879, 10647, 0 is where

the crash occurs.
