I almost finished making the Præstengbrygga like a year ago. I should finish it and upload it here one day. You can google Præstengbrygge to see how it looks like.

I googled "Præstengbrygge" (copy pasted because praestengbrygge didnt get any results either) and it just showed me a bunch of ladies making bathroom selfies in black and red dresses and a slightly hurt hand that belongs to a presumably married human?

I know they will most likely not be ready for a few years but PZ is going on 5 years.

    to be fair

gta v had like more than 1000 people working on it according to benzies with a budget of about $250 million and the development went on for bout 3 years, most of those people had prob 5-10 or so years of experience on professional game making and are / were pretty much top tier professionals doing that for a living while pz started with like one or so devs on a crappy laptop and went through several major overhauls and its more indepth and enjoyable than 95% of the games currently on steam (at least in my opinion and im really picky about what i play in my freetime) and they have about 9 devs out of which 4 i think only joined in halfway into development and the coder theyve talked about whos joined a few weeks ago if im correct so if you put that into perspective you gotta give them that they did do a lot from the start on theyre the first people i know to replicate a big part of an entire real life state into a working isometric perspective with a whole lotta limitations, im from the midwest and the developers arent even american and yet they managed to make an us replica that makes me feel more at home than many us made games set in the states do and an engine they built from the ground up with this java thing which apparently is really limiting too

i know gta v is probably a world away from pz in many ways but you gotta think about the fact that about 330 game dev legends with a budget of about $250 million took 3 years to develop an open world game and these guys are 5 years in development starting with no real budget and a tiny team of like 4 people and nowadays its a giant indepth zombie survival simulator on a near 1:1 replica of a part of a real life state with a billion features and more to come including an npc system that fooled several watchers into thinking the npcs are actual human players

(not im not an expert on this so dont quote me on anything pls k thanks)

and compare that with the steaming pile of shit known as dayz for example which was just a mod for arma 2 adding a hunger and thirst script along with some bare bones survival elements and a crappy generic zombie face texture and its 5 years into development with pretty much no big game changes and its still running on a hybrid arma 2/3 engine

the devs did a whole lot of shit that you gotta respect wether you like this game and its current state / development speed or not

hold up heres some sources that are even more hardcore

When the animation update drops there will be sneaking anims but chances are there won't be cover anims (ie back to the wall, shooting around cover etc). These will more likely be implemented in another update further down the line.

Will we get kitchen knife / spear styled instant kills with special animations for the axes and other big bladed weapons? swinging 10 times til they fall over is boring and feels wrong for none blunt weapons

  4. Chairs and couches and actually pretty much every piece of furniture should have a use for barricading, chairs shouldnt block a door like that but they should make you move slower when walking past them so you could put up a lot of chairs at the door to slow the zombies down a lil

couches and all that on the other hand should make it harder for zombies to break through doors and slow them down considerably but you would have to be a strong character and need some tools to move those

    Title: Space Exploration

    Developers: John Doe, Jane Doe

Status: In Development, awaiting implementation of vehicle update.

Summary: The space exploration feature will see zombies to expand through the solar system, allowing the player to craft their own spacecraft and fight the undead on the surface of the moon, or any other planet in the solar system.

that sounds sick, like some kinda korean or japanese take on romeros zombie flicks

Not to be rude but is this ever going to happen? The only thing we get is an occasional "yes we are still working on it", but thats not much information.

My personal speculation that ive been juggling for a few weeks is that theyre trying to make a big update with vehicles and animations and new map areas that can be massively advertised for more sales. "Project zomboid got a huge update, you should totally buy it its way better now" and the like.

Itd be nice if we could playtest these builds, seeing as I bought the game years ago and would like to actually play it but playing the old build does nothing but make me sad that I cant play the new one.

I dont want to stir up any bad hype SO

In some thread before a developer or mod jokingly mentioned that theres no comment on wether npcs will be in launch or not or something like that about npcs possibly being released along with animations

Also theyve shown quite a lot of NPC videos where the NPCS looked close to finished

They ***********M A Y********* be releasing NPCS along with the animations and cars update

Weapons haven't really changed in a good two years. It sounds like you just had a bad MP experience, possibly involving lag. 40-50 hits with an axe or other weapon is not at all normal.

The player needs to have an effect on the world and manage their resources. That's emulated from letting a player exhaust the resources of a zone for a period of time, if they rely on it over much.

That's not to say necessarily that it's realistic, but I feel it's necessary for a game to have difficulty. Even Harvest Moon limited the amount of times you could fish in a cycle.

you got a point right there you robotic dairy product, but I still feel like the devs need to cool down on the things they ridiculously underpower before they ruin the entire game for normal / casual players as long as the time where you cant fish isnt absurd like an entire month or so (1 week of fishing vs 1 week of being unable to fish would be fair I guess, it would make fishing a great option to maintain a food source for a while without allowing you to stockpile on enough bass to solve the world hunger problem) and I still feel like randomly calculated missing from firearms and extremely low kill chances were a bad way to deal with balancing firearms and needs to be fixed but thats for another topic i guess

Zoe, it's been in the game for a few years now. How big of an impact has it had on you? :P

Most weapons in the game kill in 3-5 hits, even the crap ones. Even without any skill, you'll hit 1 in 5 shots.

Hardly unrealistic. Hyerpbole doesn't strengthen an argument.

Well its not how it went for me in multiplayer, atleast when i last played 2 months ago not a single shot ever hit and my pristine fire axe required legitimate 20-50 hits to kill a single zombie at times, sometimes being instant kill or 2 hit but most of the time it took over 40 hits to kill a zombie

only weapon that wasnt a chore to use was the kitchen knife being an instant kill along with a satisfying animation

i wouldnt want to come back to this game at some point and find that pretty much everything that was doable before is now "balanced" ridiculously to the point where nothings fun to play and the most basic things a human can do take years of practice in game (referring to the rainbarrel which is just a plastic bag over a bunch of planks)

granted a lot of stuff probably changed since i last played which is a considerable time ago so im probably no longer up to date and maybe the fireaxe was powered up in the recent months

also the helicopter events used to ruin a lot of my barricaded homes and forced me to flee and also caused my death sometimes

    HOWEVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
my main point is a single man cant outfish a big lake like that within like a year,  if the devs implement something like that the games just gonna get pointlessly more difficult and eventually like this we will just keep on accepting their balancing without looking at the imbalances that are already there and at some point this game could turn into something way too hard for the average gamer or someone with a job to enjoy

AND btw if you have no skills "youll hit 1 in 5 shots" thats hits, not kills. from what i played i had to stand still for 5 seconds without moving while the zombies advanced towards me to hit / kill a single one, even with shotguns most will just fall down and get up again and only few die

guns used to be fun to use and actually have a point to them other than baiting zombies over when a shot would be a kill, they already were balanced by how rare bullets and the guns themselves were but the devs continued patching em and nowadays you cant even use a good strategy to hit and its all just random luck based with a very low chance of killing

  9. ^

but you have to worry about maintaining your base and about repairing your weapons and fighting / avoiding hordes of zombies etc you cant just look at the single system and say its op when theres a ton of other things you have to take care of which are underpowered and designed to screw you up (for example the random helicopters that lead huge hordes over to your base)

if you just look at this single thing itself sure its overpowered but if you play the game and you cant do half the things that normal human beings could do to get out of a hairy situation, weapons dont behave realistically like a 3 pound axe requiring 20 to 50 hits to kill a single zombie, firearms barely ever hit anything and are used mainly as a distraction / baiting tool rather than an actual firearm, or just the fact alone that a single tiny mistake (or the random generated helis and such) will end your character and probably ruin your entire base that probably took several real life days to build up to a halfway powerful level, you gotta realize that at some point that you have to tone down on making everything absurdly unrealistic for "balancing and gameplay reasons"  because there will always be new players who wont even bother with this game because its worse than real life and just stressful and frustrating and not a single bit of fun to play

sorry for the big unformatted blob wall of text

I would also like to take into account the over exploitation of the aquatic life, if my character fishes too much in an area the pesces Should not appear for a long time

theres a point where you get so deep into fucking the player over in every way you can that you eventually do the most dramatic yet pointless unrealistic changes to the game and make it overly tedious and frustrating to play where its no longer fun and more of a painful chore than entertainment.

youre a single guy in the apocalypse at the moment, you cant outfish an entire lake like that in the average playtime, probably not even in the current record playtime which is something like 1 or 2 years of survival..

Awesome! Looking at them now.. Nice fireplace for the Detroit house. A few fixes need to be done on some of the roof tiles, but very nice work!

the 2x tiles ffffed up most of my west coast craftsman roofs, and the east coast ones with the attics I fixed some but forgot about the others

    thanks a lot

    I have an amazing Idea.

I will make a gladiator Arena. Something ive attempted to do ingame many times.

But just realized with tilezed id be able to do with much ease.

im imagining a backyard basketball court turnt into a makeshift fighting pit with loads of dried blood splatter  all over the place would fit really well with your new york style buildings, whatever you do it will probably look badass

  13. i feel like it would look better if you just tried taking an ingame pic of a character and then photoshopping the limbs to hanging positions instead of taking real life pictures, it looks reallly out of place

7d2d and PZ are my favourite games, both games lack in visuals, but don't forget 7d2d is a voxel game, random terrain has come a long way, but to say mine craft looks better, is just stupid

Im not talking generally about graphics im talking about how the clothes are all skintight and shaping along the exact contours of the body under em even the thickest trench coat does, the character customization is beyond A B Y S M A L and only ever characters coming out of it look like goblins following several generations of inbreeding, the lighting is garbage at least last time i checked shadows all have the incorrect colors skyboxes dont contribute to the athmosphere etc etc minecraft does so many aesthatic things better than 7d2d from shaders to models, the voxel terrain is one of the few only things that look good and even then the houses look like garbage contrasting against that terrain its hard to explain with words I guess but minecraft really does look much more pleasant at least in my opinion and I feel like PZ has done visuals really well the athmosphere does a great job the lightning is nearly perfect the new shaders make it all look even bleaker the blood splattering the environment looks not only believable but also realistic like the droplets that appear one by one instead of immediately splattering all over the floor and the animations look really well done

Dude our North American homes suck. Cheap, bigger, but made of matchsticks :P   This matters in a post-apocalyptic world full of zombie-infected drivers!

Hey i live in germany and this place legitimately depresses me because everything is gray and dead looking, ill take our colorful and creative and cheap matchstick houses over sturdy gray rotting cement blobs everyday

only european places with good looking homes I know are english / british and scandinavian ones (< the ones made of wood too)

If you use the "Tile" mode to build your building it will be more difficult for others to edit or correct bugs in the construction of your files, it is more advisable to use the "Iso" mode, thus facilitating the work for future generations to help correct Bugs that can be presented in your constructions and ensure that your buildings can be remodeled in different ways and with greater comfort. :-)

tile mode is kinda important sometimes though so if you gotta use it just say what layer you placed something on

Now I'm getting hyped for stuff that might not happen, I wonder what the devs think on the subject?

the apocalypse rising backpack stuff was excruciating work to do since they needed each single backpack to have several different submodels of those special items being carried which is why they eventually dropped it again, it would be a bit easier to do in blender i guess since you can like overlay extra model stuff on basemodels like the clothes on characters but i dont know how the devs work and I totally wouldnt hate them if they didnt include that
