Demolishing stairs is a legit strategy, and can still lead to your death if you don't have proper exits when a horde comes knocking.

Honestly, I'm hoping NPCs will somewhat be the solution to that. If not, then their really gonna have to make hordes migrate a lot more than they do now, as well as removing sky bridges and such.

No, the jar itself should never vanish. The lids themselves, as in reality, are only one-use.

this, every zombie population parameter is explained when you hover your mouse over it, i personally set spawning off and set the population multiplier to 4.0

zombies respawning feels silly to me, when i kill a zombie i want to think '' another one bites the dust '' instead of '' whats the point he's gonna respawn anyway ''

Sometimes I like to keep a giant horde of zombies outside my base so people don't realize it is a player base.

New thing:  The sign in front of the Sunstar Hotel says "Free WiFi" and based on my research and personal experience WiFi wouldn't have been available in the base starting year of 1993.

Yeah, you can catch anything with a spear that you could a fishing rod, it just takes a few more actions, and like I said since you can queue it up, just queue up about 12 and let it go. You can expect about 3 fish per spear. Its definitely key to have an area for you to be able to forage in though to keep getting those tree branches and a chipped stone.

I'm actually doing my first play through in this build........and unfortunately so many traits are still free points.

The fact that my favorite weapon is "bare hands" quite a bit into the game on survival means zombie A.I. needs some serious tweaking, as its still far too easy to "rope a dope" and pull zombies 1~3 at a time from hordes.

I'm fixing to setup at the cabin again, and I'm gonna predict that simply foraging for wooden spears and fishing is gonna lead me to my death.....of old age.

Worms need fixing no doubt. But fishing is pretty OP, gonna be hard to even do anything about it without downright destroying it (or add in water zombies ).

But yeah, with decent fishing skill, catching a few pikes will last you DAYS atm, and to be honest, its the wooden spear that is mostly OP when it comes to fishing since it's renewable.

I'd still like to see water zombies added in, because IMO water sources have become the new rooftops as far as turtlein' goes. Throw in some dangers like unseen zombies climbing out of the water depths and you'll add in some risk vs reward, and also force the player to attempt to secure a water area, liking completely walling in a lake to keep zombies out of it.

Hearty Appetite makes it so you have to eat almost constantly. I feel that it should give you 1 or 2 more points.

I dont understand some of these free points comments, namely these ones... High thirst and hearty appetite are extremely debilititating. Slow reader isn't a free pointer either. Time is no longer money in this world, time is now hunger and thirst and the combined cost of reading all the books is at least a few days more worth of food and drink. Probably a week or 2 more realistically. Whereas being a fast reader will net you more supplies by the time you finish with the books. Speeding up time doesn't counteract this. Hemophobic IS free points, but only until npcs are released. Clumsy and conspicous are also incredibly bad for you, I don't understand how anyone would think a wider noise circle and an increased zombie line of sight angle doesn't affect gameplay. At the moment high thirst and hearty appetite mean that you have to eat and drink about 20 to 30 percent more. When you're speaking percentages anything above 25% more or less is a lot. At least in every RPG I've ever played. With a 50% buff or nerf being legendary or unheard of.

Replacing fishing line seems pretty basic.......I would simply make untrained individuals consume 50% more line when replacing.

Yeah, I just made an account purely to chime in about replacing fishing line. Sure, it's a little bit of a mess to do if you have no idea what you're doing, but you're an adult and it's NOT something that you would have to literally read a manual to learn. In both a realism sense and a gameplay sense, requiring a manual to be read simply to replace line (this happens even if you run out, not only if your line breaks, from what I can tell) is just silly.

I do agree with manuals being there to actually learn recipes, of course. Such as building fishing rods and nets. But simply replacing fishing line is not a recipe. That really needs to be changed in my opinion.

I also have always found it immersion breaking with items like remoulade, yoghurt, spade, etc. If anyone has ever followed any of the rants I post on here, they are almost always tied to realism/immersion in one way or another.

The game is set in Kentucky, but the devs are mostly European from what I've learned (Mostly British, a crazy Frenchman, and a Canadian... I feel like there should be a joke here or something).

They choose to place the game in Kentucky. Why? I dunno. But they did. Therefore to me, it makes sense that the vernacular used in game should be based on the locale the game is set in. If TIS chose to, they could have had the game setting be in a small rural town in GB, France, or Canada. But they didn't. It is based in the US.

If you want to make a setting with more typical British (or elsewhere) vernacular, then make a map based there. This game as it currently is, is not, therefore it shouldn't use a foreign, to the setting, vernacular.

PS Devs why did you choose KY? Spun the globe and that's where the finger landed? Family, friends there? I have always been curious about this. Met a bunch of criteria? That there was a large military presence, a larger city, and some water all nearby? I'm sure there are many places closer to home that fit these criteria.

PPS please please please use a generic form of cars/trucks that would be commonly found in rural America in the 90s when they are added. As much as I love Aston Martins, Mini-Coopers, old Bedford trucks, or Renaults. I would be really disappointed if we didn't see Buick like sedans from the 90s and Ford/Dodge/Chevy style pickups.

God damn now that i think about that, its disgusting, i was thinking my character was freshing up with some sweet ass lemonade after a day of logging trees, now i can imagine him with tartar sauce all over his face while crying and choking back tears.

For me, remoulade has always bothered me. Never even heard of it until project zomboid, and tartar sauce is definitely more common in the US than it, even though their apparently similar.

Seeing yogurt spelt "yoghurt" also was a bit strange.

And here I was thinking I was drinking some kind of lemonade all this time... I guess my characters just really like mayonnaise.
But there actually is a difference between a spade and a shovel. Spades have square heads and are used more for gardening than actually lifting dirt.
Also, while most pickles are sold in jars, you can usually find bagged pickles at convenience stores.
