Hmm. Should zeds be attracted by a dog barking though? What's their interest in it? I can understand them moving due to super-loud human noises like helicopters and gunshots but is a dog bark enough?

Hello! My only real question here was will some of the sounds be like Meta-game sounds? For example, will the dog barking, and the scream lure zombies over to somewhere?

I agree, I wasn't too thrilled when Clementine was said to be the main player. Mainly because I figured it would put the player in a rather do nothing role. Instead, it's like they are still running with someone like Lee. Sometimes it makes a lot of sense what they ask her to do, but sometimes it's just odd. As if she's a full grown woman.
 
Thinks got.... weird. In a couple of the episodes in relation to one of the characters. I doubt anything will come of it, but one of the relationships between Clementine and him came off with some... unsettling vibes which I feel wasn't the point of it.

I don't like how in Season 2 they makes Clementine do everything.

Everytime something comes up it's always Clem that they volunteer to do something.
 
She's a little girl and even though she doesn't act like it at times I still find it really odd how everyone around her acts useless.
 
Clem go over here, Clem go over there, Clem do this, Clem do that, Clem I need you to...
 
It sort of worked in Season 1 with Lee because he's a grown man and also a good leader but doesn't work so well with Clementine.
 
I think that's one of the major flaws that Telltale made.
 
Another thing that bugged me is Jane. She's basically Molly of Season 2.
 
Looks, acts, and even sounds similar to Molly. Probably the same voice actor too.
 
They should've went with a different type of character with a different personality.

I got my copy yesterday, from someone I personally call video game jesus.

I didn't see this anywhere else, so I decided to make a topic about what people think about NPCs, just to natter about it, see what you are most excited of about them, and so on.
I personally am so excited about them, and the only way to calm myself down is talking about my hype in the forums
 
So please, have a seat, grab a beer, and shoot that zomboid's brains out, while chatting with other survivors about the other less important bastards that you will probably throw down a cliff, just for the heck of it.

I accept by playing the game on this branch, at some point I am almost certainly going to hit crippling bugs, and potentially lose progress or worlds. I will therefore back up any saves I deem important (located in C:/Users/<Username>/Zomboid on windows systems, HD:/Users/<Username>/Zomboid on Mac, and /home/<Username>/Zomboid/ on linux. I will not get angry or complain of any bugs, or balance, or changes, or remark that 'this build is more buggy than the last one!' or similar - That is the entire reason it's on this branch. If I have problems with the final build as released to the main branch, then of course a bad review is perfectly valid if the game has not lived up to my expectations. However, I accept that negative reviews with justification based on the stability, or otherwise non-final status of IWBUMS builds will be justifiably flagged. If I encounter problems, I will either wait until the final build, or discuss my thoughts and concerns civilly on the forums so the final build has the opportunity to address my concerns. Right click Project Zomboid in your Steam library and select "Properties". Navigate to the Steam Beta tab and select the "iwillbackupmysave" beta branch from the dropdown.

No password is required.

The IWBUMS branch allows us to have much wider and faster feedback on general updates, while allowing us to concentrate on wider more in-depth, focused and crucially less time-pressured/demanding testing with the testing team. Hurrah!

If you can, always post your console.txt file. On Windows, you can find this in C:\Users\Username\Zomboid (Where Username is your windows username). On Mac and Linux it'll be in your /home/username/Zomboid/ folder.

So, If your smart enough to survive a year (I don't think I am...), you could find decorations and decorate your house for Christmas. Maybe if you've put a Christmas tree up, your character would get a moodle like "Christmas spirit" Or what. Maybe your character will gain hope (Moodle form again). Would be amazing when NPC's join you. Going door to door asking neighboring zombies for pudding. This is small, so feel free to share your ideas on why or not you would want this.

That's an Opinion. New Years during an apocalypse would be the only holiday I would celebrate- you made it through a whole damn year. What bigger thing is there to celebrate than living?

New year's fireworks could be.. interesting..

Then that isn't New Year as people see it now.
It would be reset to 0 as the start of the Apocalypse and a different type of new year begins.

It would probably offend somebody's beliefs, or, in an extreme case, cause terrible spasms inducing flash-backs. 
 
I would love the tree, because I honestly would use it to block a door or something. I celebrate Christmas, sure, but I don't think I'd be worried about not waking up to see pretty lights and bells. The lights would make nice strangling weapon though.

I don't think that all of the ammo in the map would suffice against the amount of zombies. I forgot that I could backup my character, darn! 
I really wasn't expecting that, I got so scared. When I get scared in video games, I panic. It's so kick ass though, I will congratulate anyone that actually clears out the mall. Although, the outside of the mall is pretty nasty. That area is a no-go until I get a car, with some bad ass knee-cappers!

Seriously people should start using Candle Holders alot more. I'm in an area where there's shutdowns every 3 minutes, so i love them.
