Watch your tone around here. This is our private forum and we don't have to host you being an asshole.
Criticize the game or its development. Don't insult the people making it. Common courtesy.
Edit: Saw your post history. Take care.

As for the topic, thanks for the good intentions but we don't need a Patreon or the like. The game is funded pretty securely. We have the people from General Arcade on board to help us out with development, too.
Hiring another java developer would be awesome but they aren't exactly easy to come by. It's not like additional people speed up development exponentially

Billwa, can you cite where the developers 'literally promise shit'? I haven't seen that yet. I thought they said personal hygiene wasn't going to make it into the game? Maybe you are incorrectly using the word literally? Perhaps figuratively is the word you're looking for. They are often misused.

Features will be done when their done. If you don't have the patience, maybe Early Access games are not for you. TIS is very upfront about Early Access on their Steam page. Perhaps you should have read it before purchasing.

You've been a member of these forums for over 3 years now and have posted 23 times. Recently, they have all been negative posts. What are you hoping to accomplish other than to piss some people off? What good do you expect from it? If you don't expect any good, why are you bothering?

Perhaps a more constructive approach would be more useful? While I do not agree with the OP's suggestion, I do appreciate their constructive efforts to help progress the development of this game.

I would contribute to a Patreon account or something like that. I definitely put enough time into the game to put a little more money in.

That said, while this could boost revenue for TIS, it would also likely boost the expectations of the fan base. If the expectations became too great, I could see this backfiring and demoralizing fans and devs alike.

An Oil Rig converted into a base. In the process of someone moving in with me so its a bit disorganized. I am looking forward to the final setup where all the stations are full.

You should be able to hit 1 / 5 at that range without any issue. Though you might not see the result, considering how many are there . . .

Character already shoots above or below their Z-level; You can see this by turning on debug mode in the bat file with -Ddebug after the Xmn and Xmx values.

    a. Zombie noise attracts zombies. That is, the noise caused by a zombie banging on a door or window attracts nearby zombies ( who will also start banging, making more noise). How many times when have i been hurt, and it's dark out, and a zombie starts banging on my door. I'll just let em bang all night rather than risk a night fight...I should pay for that with hoard at my door in the morning.

    b. Zombie corpses should attract nearby zombies. It's such a pain to move the bodies. Dangerous too. The result is usually a ton of dead zombies around my safehouse. But, what if the smell made other zombies curious, and come to investigate....

    386. Have movable clock furniture display current time (maybe just hourly for simplicity). Could require a battery change once or twice a year.

what are you talking bout. if you google it, you'd see that every vehicle in the latest mad max not only worked, but was run ragged during the films making, with few break downs. and yes while this was done by teams of expert engineers and mechanics, I'm sure that your character in zomboid , with loads of free time at the point in the game where this becomes a factor, after the food and water and safety is taken care of. so youd have plenty of time to master mechanical skills. and of course where not looking for gorgeous cars that can move. where looking for tough bastards that are useful. so it may not end up pretty, and it may not be the best way to do it, but given a welding torch and half a mind, I'm sure the zomboid character could concoct some crazy car mods for the apocalypse

I think it'd be kinda cool to be able to use a ute or semi trailer to do a lightning fast raid on a players base. but to balance it, you could do a couple things. make that type of car very hard to find, and make them very valuable. give the largest invintorys and the best fuel mileage and maybe the highest player capacity, and that way getting one is hard and super useful, but probably not worth the risk of losing unless your a hardcore player with loads of cars, or you desperately need something someone has. but server admins should have the ability the disable this as they see fit, like fire spread. and the injury risk has to be quite high as well, just to discourage reckless behaviour with them.

trombonaught reacted to CzarUltra in Remove Carpentry Requirement for moving some furniture
Realistically, moving a mattress isn't as involved as the game makes it seem. It's easier to build a log wall then move a bed.  That makes no sense. Sure taking apart a bed frame is kind of annoying, but anybody with a screwdriver can do it.  Same goes with bookshelves, tables, dressers, etc.  It makes little sense and for me at least, takes the immersion away from the game.

Same goes for moving crates, that's something that doesn't necessarily needs to be taken apart before you move it. It can be pushed/pulled or lifted -- if anything that would require a certain amount of strength and nothing else.

So I think removing any carpentry skill requirements from certain furniture would be beneficial.

    381. Ability to heat up oatmeal. With hot/cold food making an impact on happiness, I would assume most people would be happier eating heated oatmeal.

    382. Ability to add honey to a bowl of oatmeal

    383. Upon completion of foraging timed action, a character could choose which items they wish to pick up. UI could be similar to the current trade window.

    384. Ability to use foraged berries to make a pie.

    385. Happiness buff is lost when cutting a pie into slices. I know it isn't as good to get a slice of pie instead of a whole pie, but it should still bring a little happiness to your day.

A Suggestion to reduce the registration of spammers: After registering on pzwiki.net, and verifying email.  Retract and Do not yet give any edit or post privileges. As a final step in confirming the mediawiki account.  They must come to the indiestone.com forum login (or register) then go to a page on TIS forum that only logged in users can access and confirm their wiki account by entering their username in a form which activates their wiki account.

A custom extra activation step like this will mind boggle any mainstream mediawiki spam bots. And should not inconvenience normal users as most would have TIS accounts anyway.  It also has the added bonus of you knowing what forum user has what wiki account.  So if need be, you could also restrict activation of wiki accounts to only allow activation if the forum account has x number of posts, to make it even harder for spamming.   And assuming both sites (TIS and pzwiki) are both on the same web server it would be fairly simple to implement.

When an alarm clock goes off it doesn't beep until the death of the universe, so it shouldn't in-game.

Just a thought for making the vehicles fit in more; could their graphics get put through a faded-out shader similar to what the devs did to the map textures when they took inspiration from "This War of Mine" and dulled the textures? This would help the vehicles look more natural in the PZ environs (in my opinion).

Considering we went 8 months without an update, one update while Romain deals with his new fatherhood stretching two months shouldn't be that big of a deal, as much as I'd love for some of the more problematic bugs to get hotfixes rather than wait on the IWBUMS -- after all, every day I have to address the concerns of people affected by these issues (hardcore reloading broken, splitscreen moodles overlapping .etc), when often there are fixes in IWBUMS. Yet it's not quite that simple as firing out those fixes when mixed with the new mapping/gui updates, is it?

Not having one low-key Mondoid this iweek wouldn't change that, now would it? Repeating over and over "still working on rotations, fixing bugs, plugging any holes we missed, and actively trying not to get excited and show things off in case you attack me for it" wouldn't change that.

Don't get why Kirrus brings out such a diva in  you, Hicks, but the stress it causes is not appreciated.

Novelty wears off, then it becomes a slog of dealing with anger and betrayal when very obvious, clearly identified issues are left in. That's why we first do a round of internal testing, as is happening with the vehicles right now. e.g. there's a few critical lag issues that are being profiled and addressed right now that would hit everyone that played it.

In many ways, I wish TIS would just push this stuff out there, but I also know it's me and the moderator team that'll deal with the results, if at least a certain degree of quality isn't ensured. A large number of EA buyers don't understand or won't accept this, even if it were hidden behind another branch.

Bump on this. People can move CRAZY fast right now, but it is necessary given the size of the map. Hoping for a huge sprint nerf when vehicles hit the game.

I agree(ish), but think the two higher speeds should be only one function in the control bindings. Sprinting should be the default for as long as it can be maintained, but quickly reduce to a jogging speed (to keep controls simple).

Sorry for spamming the thread everyone D:

But I agree, the speed itself isn't the issue. It's maintaining an Olympic 100m dash Sprint for miles.

I realize that sprinting speed does transition to lower speeds over a sustained distance, but the rate of this pre-exhaustion decline needs to be waaay boosted.

Zobie behaviour is different in SP compared to MP. I don't know the technical reasons for it (only that there are reasons) but zombies that are nearby in SP can stop your movement. Being flanked by 2 zeds can kill you. This effect seems only 10% as prevalent in MP, be it public server or local.

I think the speed is close to realistic for a full on sprint, but I know no man or woman that can sprint for miles.

Which indirectly will lead to slower zombies. Which I hope will lead to hordes being more dangerous with bigger numbers. also better combat pls.

Currently I can run around with an axe or baseball bat and fight 40+ zeds at once.
