  1. I sleep on the floor occasionally, and I find no discomfort in it. I would wager that the vast majority of people prefer to sleep in a bed. I have no empirical data to support this, but every single human that I personally know owns a bed that they sleep in. Why invest in a bed that takes up a lot of floor space and cost a fair amount of money if it wasn't more restful and comfortable for them? While some may find no discomfort in a flat,hard surface, I again would wager the vast majority of people would. I'll admit that I do occasionally sleep on the floor, but it is usually just quick naps where I don't want a long/deep sleep. I have a extended post on sleeping on the floor and how to do it comfortably, which I won't reiterate here, but the whole point of sleeping on a raised platform is to get way from things that scurry on the floor and to prevent the ground from robbing you of heat during the night. And the reason a lot of people buy them despite their disadvantages is that its expected and engrained in them as something they need to have. It use demonstrate affluence to have a bed which caused them to proliferate once they became readily available.

Since there seems to be a heavy investment of research on worms going on here, from dissecting a few, i would recommend that gutting them/cooking them be required as they often have other insects in their guts which can lead to developing parasites. Maybe a little over kill, but if you've seen what i've pulled out of them you wouldn't randomly pick up a worm and eat it. I have experience in suffering from severe malnutrition from my previous semester at college. Currently hoping my hair grows back from my last stint. Randomly noticing one day that my hair massively thinned was very depressing. My teeth started bleeding even though i had brushed them regularly and were getting a little loose and having nightmares of wigglingly them out in my sleep. My finger toe/nails had kinks in them from a rapid change in growth rate, and my vision became blurry. During this time i was eating nothing but ramen, some peanuts (completes amino profile of ramen), and the occassional pizza, but i would also go several days at a time without food as well. I was still fat though. I didn't notice physcial problems from the malnutrition until after a month of eating properly again, maybe three months after my initial malnutrition incidences started occuring. so things are definitely not immediate More immediate feelings though was that after the first month of off and on eating with low nutrient food was that i lost my appetite and any real sense of taste as i would eat anything just to put it in my stomach, i had no care in the world if it was cooked and just started eating things raw or out of the can, but eventhough i lost my appetite, I would randomly scarf things down like a dog even if i wasn't hungry sometimes to the point of hurting gut. I felt rather jaded and nihilistic after a while. One stint i went four days without eating and didn't care at all. My stomach hurt the first day so i decided not to eat, the second day, i felt sleep was more important than going to the store, one the third day stores were closed for Christmas, and on the fourth day, i just said fuck it, i'm going to a Christmas dinner tomorrow, so there is no point in going out and buying food today. I also have friends who were in a similar situation where the need to buy a cigarette or weed was more important than buying food even after being without food for two days. The point i am trying to make with this is that at some point or threshold, you just stop caring about eating and becomes a vicious cycle the leads to incredible malnutrition because the depression overtakes the hunger to the point where you don't really feel it anymore (even the munchies looses effect), and it starts to feel like a bearable annoyance. Once food becomes available again though, you just start scoffing things down repeatedly until you gain your appetite and feeling of fullness back again. In this regard, there is documentation that after the holocaust, The Russians were not allowed to feed the people they rescued because of cases where the survivors would eat until their stomachs would burst. Der Ort des Terrors has references of this apparently though i first read it in an autobiography called Night by Elie Wiesel. In this autobiography you can kind of feel that hunger no longer becomes a pressing issue in his mind after a while. People often mention that the Germans poisoned their water to make them more docile and Controllable, but i think the side effect of starving where you simply lose your ability to care had more of an effect on this. so if youre looking for suggestion for effects in game. After suffering malnutrition for a while, you eventually stop feeling hunger and panic thus loose motivation to eat, and that hunger get replaced by slight stomach pain, while depression/tiredness/exhaustion skyrockets after a month, after two months, you start developing physically manifestations of starving such as scurvy/hair loss (this would be interesting to see in game) in addition to the autobiography called night I think the show Naked and Afraid (21 days without modern food), and Naked and Afraid XL (40 days) can provide decent research material in regard to the effects of starvation. Most of them end up "getting by" on 300 cals a day, but it pays a heavy toll on them, their calorie intake universally starts increasing towards the end though for those that care. Also journals from artic explorers and "rabbit starvation/protein poisoning" could also be useful though is a different issue than what i was talking about. I suffered from protein poisoning as a kid, I lost shit tonnes of weight off of it in comparison to my malnutrition story as i couldn't really eat anything without vomiting and was in tremendous discomfort. Charles Darwin also has some interesting excerpts of eating behavior in "The Voyage of the Beagle" but that may be too extensive, but one important excerpt was that being on an all carnivore diet allows one to go days without eating without ill effects like a puma (pumas and other carnivores only eat once every four days) as long as you have a high fat to protein ratio.
  3. i would like a powerplant added, but not functioning. I think the powerplant near my house is more than an acre in size and it works in tandem with a chemistry plant also nearly an acre in size to collect and refine sulfuric acid from the spent coal. This operation requires at least 100 people. In regards to a water treatment plant, i proposed this in addition to a water tower before which can easily be operated by generators or a raiding spot for chemicals, but it was shot down with water being easily accessible from sinks and such even after water is cut off.
  4. wow, i alway thought it blacked out the outside when you were inside a building. Totally didn't notice, has it always been this way. Anyway, i think a sandbox version of this would be appropriate. My metric? If 7 kingdoms had it...
  5. body cravings are actually not that effective at driving you to proper nutrients. Rabbit fever for example occurs when you don't have enough fat in your diet it causes you to crave food, any food to the point that you can die from an over extended stomach, and people have been seen to drink a liter of say olive oil afterewards without gagging once its presented to them, but they donät actually crave anything fatty. Also, after eating the same thing after a while, you forget or have no desire to eat anything else. Ramen is an example of this. I spent 4 months on ramen alone in college, and still don't have much desire to eat anything else. the problem with this though is that you have to eat a least peanuts or another legume with it to complete your amino acid profile, but you wonät crave it, you will just get more and more tired.

  7. I will accept this declaration lol. though I don't think 3 months is long enough to be a said expert, but I do thin its important to give a perspective of the actual pros or cons of sleeping on a floor from someone who does it so its not hypothetical.
  8. I haven't had the inclination to use a generator yet because i've barely find a use for them in real life even if the power is out let alone in a survival situation. I don't even use a fridge for that matter, but say if i was concerned about a refrigerater, what i would be concerned about is insulating the fridge than anything else. if you insulate it better than it already is, you'd only need to have a generator running for a couple minutes to keep something cold for the rest the day. In this regard I would like to see deep freezers brought into the game. Growing up in the country, the deep freezer was our life blood as we would only buy groceries every few months, but have loaves upon loaves of bread and ground meat stored in that thing, and It would be fun to watch the bread thaw or get impatient and try to separate slices with a butter knife only to fail. That and they had the insulation to last at least a week or two without a generator. Though we had about 200 gallons of fuel in the shed at all times, we only used the generator which was stored in a section of our garage to power the water pump, get the house warm, and listen to the news. We never worried about fuel stabilizers either as even bad gas still burns though I wouldn't put it in my motorcycle or anything like that. so yeah, I don't see generators being that useful to begin with, so i'm not concerned if they are not that useful in the game unless I wanted to do an endurance test. Maybe in multiplayer where people may want to set up a base or architect gamers might enjoy them, but the only exciting thought I've had about them is powering a water tower. As for the gas station though, I think you would only need power to get the gas from the pumps. i'd just hand pump it out of the underground tanks. as for food preservation, i'd love to have smoked meats as an option or the option to make jerky, but I don't think that would be important until they add animals in which I think I recall hearing about. Another thing that will probably never happen is the use of cave. One of my lady friends took me out to a small cave in Kentucky that you could feel a constant flow of cold air coming out of it which was cold enough to work as a refrigerator. It would also be nice to have natural springs somewhere on the map that you could do 100 gallon water runs with once they add trucks in the game, but these things are really just nostalgia from my child hood. At some point you have to just say hey, this is a game, why tiresomely try to emulate life or expect someone to create an emulation for you when you could just live life.
  9. In regards to sleeping on the ground. After my field expeditions in colorado (i'm a geochemist) sleeping in a tent for over a month, I came home and decided to get rid of my couch and bed and switched to a tatami mat-esque living, and i have been sleeping on the floor for the past 3 months now with the only thing between me and a hardwood floor being a thin yoga mat whether i'm playing on the computer or sleeping. I stopped having pain after the first month as i learned to sleep on my back and side (information on how it is different at the bottom). I would definitely like the option to sleep on the ground since its what I do normally. I support of this, I bring up the "Coffee defense of Nov 2015," its the zombie apocalypse the least we can have is our own preference for how we sleep. As for in game disadvantages, the issues that come with sleeping on the floor and why we have raised platforms to begin with are: -bugs can easily crawl into your ears/nose/mouth. House centipede, silverfish, cochroaches all become sources of paranoia, but worst of all are earwigs which are scary as shit when sleeping on the floor. -rodents/snakes and other crawlies might investigate you or use you as body heat -the earth/floor conducting the heat away from you -slight stiffness in the morning due to not tossing as much ​-feeling/hear vibrations or movement transmitted through the floor/ground. half of these increases one's panic especially if a place is not secure from these things. The heat conducting away from you and stiffness robs you of calories making you hungrier, decreases your comfort, and makes your colder which is not good for the winter, but overall though, I have a deeper sleep and more consistent sleeping patterns when sleeping on the floor. everything else is pretty spot on and doesn't require any life stories to be relatable with. I definitely would like the ability to selectively forage for stones for the sake of pete, and sitting down on the ground to rest would be appreciated as well. for those interested more in how sleeping on the floor is different than sleeping in a bed.
  10. I was thinking about this as well while i was watching Eckymans playthrough, and i think it is a good idea. From what i have seen though from how the current model of zombie spawn and such its not very practical. I think one way to implement it in the current system would be to have a random chance generator at map edges and a value check. and another check to see if the player is in the square once the random chance indicator is met and the character check returns false, the value goes from false to true in that square. the checker will check if the value is true or false, if false then it returns continues the chance generator loop, if true -the random chance generator stops -the square is given random populaton of zombie horde as a value and a random direction of travel. -destination square generated and given value 0 -after x time, value in square 1 goes to 0 and value in square in the direction of travel gets previous value. --if destination square value equal > 0 ----all values reset and return to loop if character is in an adjacent square or a few squares away is true -physical generation of zombies --if character is near zombies ----timer to next square population value stops -------if character leaves area ----------timer to next square resumes -if square value goes to 0 ----zombies erased. ----value for next square = previous square - random generation an order of magnitude smaller. though obviously not a complete snippet of code, something in this manner would prevent persistent lag for lower end pcs, but it would cause a large lag spite once adjacent to the horde as it generates them. Despite that though, I would greatly enjoy something like that.
  11. I think the tire pressure is a bit much, but checking the radiator with 90s and 80s vehicles is mandatory. Starter fluid should be added too for myriad of reasons.

  13. i use to bounce at bars, and i can say with confidence that most people dont know how to fight their way out of a brown paper bag. Most just swing haymakes without any hip movement at all and don't move at all. I've not met a single opponent outside of boxing bouts that has ever put their left foot forward when right handed, and all of them half punch. At my highschool, people would teach each other that in order to punch as hard as possible you had to pull your arm back as far as possible, basically teleographing their punches from a mile away. To have a character out the gate doing these things I imagine would be rather bizzare for these people.
  14. NW-----------NE | | | | | | SW-----------SE When moving forwards my left foot landed on SW. Then, knowing I was about to turn around, I put my right foot not on NE, but on NW. This allowed my body to turn better. I was swinging with my left foot above the ground and still moving. It should be possible to stop zombies from grabbing or pushing you by looking over your shoulder so that you can manage your distance well. PS George Silver, an Englishman who published a book in 1599, said that if somebody rushes towards you then you should step back and it him on the hand or the head (in sword fighting). Although, George Silver wrote that hitting someone on the head with a sword could mean death, and that swords could cut off arms and sometimes heads, but one of the moderators on this forum has said that he has studied swords for a lot of his life, and that single-edged swords cannot remove heads or split skulls, so George Silver was wrong, so maybe George Silver was also wrong about stepping backwards in a sword fight. A moderator has also disagreed with the thought that two-handed swords could cut off heads, so Hans Talhoffer was wrong too. Many witnesses of sword fights in history must have been wrong also. Ok, i retried it with your foot inline method and spun, then spun again with little problem. However, with a target to hit, the problem is that as soon as the sword makes contact, your spin ends with a stomp of your left foot in a normal guard position, I was able to keep balance though I could feel how it could injure the ankle to come full stop like that with momentum wanting to carry me backwards, but i have 300lbs of momentum to deal with. Even then, i was flat footed on left and thus took another deliberate spin to return which I would initiate by pushing a zombie away at the same time. This is much safer than the original spin, but still carries risk, but maybe just the same amount of risk as walking backward normally would (This makes me wish the game had a mechanic for falling/tripping chance when walked backwards like M&B does) so kadus to you, but i'd expect only a character with martial training or experience fighting while running away would actually carry this out without harming themselves as I have four different schools of training and I didn't immediately understand what you were getting at, as none i've trained with ever utilized running. The only martial arts I could think of that involve running would probably be ancient greek dueling methods. As for your ps note though, I feel that was alittle distasteful. The quality of one's argument and attack of one's argument should not be based on who is presenting the argument. Though this is a tactic that is used to sway simpletons in a debate arena where the ethos of an argument is equally as important as the logos or pathos, this is not, as far as I know, a debate arena, and thus it has no place in a civil discussion. As a result, jabs such as "a moderator said this or that" is not in good taste. As it doesn't matter if they are a moderator or not, as being a moderator should not have any bearing on the quality of the argument whether it is good or bad. A more appropriate way of saying it would have been "according to such and such author, you can chop off heads and limbs with ease" The conversation on whether or not swords and such can chop heads and such, however, is a non-sequitur to begin with since we are talking about a game that only includes improvised weapons such as bats and golf clubs (i only brought up my sword because its the closest approximation i have to a bat, and I don't have a hammer long enough to simulate an axe), and obviously since the majority of people here are saying that you could probably only land a heavy blow if feet are planted this is going to be the default that someone in a zombie apocalypse is going to turn to whether they know better or not until they've become accustom to the situation. The most trained person when attacked while flatfooted will react as if he is flatfooted; i've experienced this as a bouncer at a bar when fights would just randomly break out around me at times, it would take at least three hits or so of gut reactions before my training would kick in. Also, i would like to note that not all the people who wrote treatises actually fought or only wrote from the perspective of fensing/duels, not actual combat. So my bottomline is, only a few people in this world are actually trained in an actual "martial" combative styles and even fewer would utilize that training when it is actually needed, so I don't suspect that, "you can actually get away with this if you know better" should be the norm for the game. What may be realistic for you may not be realistic for another unless we all have had the same experiences, since that is not possible, it is best to simulate an average experience or an average cluster. This average cluster has spoken that moving while fighting is probably a bad idea meaning that most people would not take the risk of running and fighting at the same time in an apocalypse (they wouldn't fight while constantly walking backwards either, but thats another topic). Maybe in the least the devs could make it so that as you level up in combat you may move alittle bit, but making it a main feature would break the immersion factor for most people who would view such things as unrealistic as it is unrealistic to their perception of the world.

I really don't want this to become a martial arts thread because there are a lot of people who train at crappy dojos that aren't actual fighting and spread misinformation most of what they are taught is not full force so they don't feel the transfer of energy/recoil coming from the opponent, but with that being said the weapon based martial arts i've trained with particularly german langschwert. you are in a constant state of movement. In boxing, you plant your feet and rotate your hips only when you want to deal a power blow, but in longswording, you move both legs as you twist your entire body into the swing using angular momentum to help you deliver force (video links listed below explaining how to swing). My standard opener (guards in brackets) [Tag], step forward w/mittlehau, [Ochs], step forward w/Stechen, then [Longort], (then if applicable, unterhau [ochs]) has me making forward swings moving me at least 10 feet forward, then 6 feet back with a back backward unterhau [Ochs], mittlehau [ochs], mittlehau [Tag]. Notice with this combat style, I am swinging into guards as I move forward or backward, so at no point should I be victim of a counter attack, and notice that these are forward backward movements. The reason for this is that typically in weapon fighting you keep yourself out of range of your opponents weapon, so you have so swing into range so you can hit, defensing yourself against a counter attack, then you retreat back out of range swinging into guards, at this point you may pivot to change the angle of your next attack. The only langschwert attack the uses a planted foot is the Zornhau in which you swing the sword starting behind your back like a baseball bat, but unlike a baseball bat swing you pivot on the planted foot launching a rotation off the back foot moving it into a forward position. This is highly telegraphed and only really used on charging enemies who cant react in time to defend themselves. With my Iaido training which has very similar strikes and guards to my german langsword (what works works no matter the culture), however, it makes much more use of side steps and turns since due to it using a single edged weapon without a cross guard, its defence comes from positioning, and you will have strikes while doing a complete turn as a standard skill. As such, moving and striking is actually the ideal way to strike and give the most impact as you can more acceleration from the angular moment from the rotation of your body than what you can produce by stomping the ground. The reason non-weapon martial arts don't do this is because you will most likely rip your shoulder or elbow out of socket, and forward punches are less telegraphed than swings. When I was doing a biomechanics research project in boxing, I got up to a punch of 550 lbs. once i exceeded 300lbs, I was in dire need of wrist wraps (look at the hands of british bareknuckle boxers) and at 500lbs a miss timed punch would cause so much recoil that it almost threw my shoulder out. This requires the shoulders to be fortified with significant amount of muscle. So that point is that, there are better ways of generating force than planting your feet, but this is not very applicible to non-weapon based martial arts because the frailty of the human body can not handle higher stress loads that these maneuvers call for. I ocassionally see marine boxers do a full body twist punch, but i wouldn't recommend it.   16. I just tested this with my sword. There are a couple problems with it. First if you are running forward and stop with right foot forward then turn around. Your left foot would then be forward, but your right foot and left foot are in reverse locations. When you are in a normal left foot forward stance, your left is left of your head, and your right is behind you to the right. With the method you've implied, your left is forward, but in the right position while your right foot is backwards and to the left. This gives the enemy your back and, not only gives your opponent a bigger surface to grab or hit, since a normal position is used to prevent one from being pushed back, someone could easily make you fall forwards with a slight push given that you've given the opponent your back. Thus this stance is not sound to begin with. In addition to this in order to step your left foot back to swing, your left foot has to move across your center of balance going from forward right to back left. This not only reduces the force of the swing as energy is lost conserving angular momentum which would normally go to the sword in a normal forward step, it reduces your range, In addition to this, if your hit lands while your foot is in transition, the force of the zombie moving forward being translated through the weapon and the inertia caused by the vector of your previous running motion would cause you to fall back wards before your left foot is in a position to brace the impact. Thus to prevent this from happening you have to half sword your weapon to time it so that your foot is braced for the impact reducing the range even further to about 8 inches. To resume running you would have to again spin your body bringing your right foot which is now forward right to the forward right again after the turn. This means that your right foot has to translate across your center of balance again thus adding another risk of falling. In addition to this, the zombie is 8 inches away from you if your hit landed, and you have again given your back to your opponent meaning if it pushes you, you will fall forward. You can prevent a push by raking your sword behind your back from right to left, but due to angular momentum if the sword makes contact, the force will cause the blade to either to move opposite the strike thus causing you to turn less than expected which will squares you against the vector of the run which is an instant fall down, or the zombie adds force to the rake speeding up your turn which will rip your left hip out of socket. Either way, this is a highly improbable maneuver to pull off unless you have advanced martial arts training as even moderate training to do a half sword and back rake could land you with a side of your head cracked against a stone on the ground or your hip dislocated. One of the few martial artists i've seen that move backwards and fight was mike tyson. Even then he never spun around, he kepts his back away from his opponent and ran backwards while punching instead of running away. In this sense the current game mechanic works except that it makes you stop to swing when in reality you would swing while moving backwards, but i will repeat, changing directions while swinging and moving is very dangerous. Even in TWD you have to switch the position of your feet to perform a round kick, but to do this, you do it far enough away from your opponent that they cant hit you while your feet translate across your center of balance, and you only give your back as you are thrusting forward while spinning reducing the chance of the opponent knocking you on your ass by pushing you back. The same can not be applied to this position as you are thrusting backwards as you are swinging thus a push would only add to a backwards movement. If you are doing this in your back yard invite a friend along to push you while you do it to see how ineffective it is.
  17. played for a several minutes today. My only complaint so far is that zombies more than half a screen or so away sound like they are right next to me when they moan. This has made me jump a couple times because I often use hard of hearing and near sighted which means something can attack me from the back with out me knowing it, so everytime i heard the noise I would look behind me to find nothing, or go outside to do a perimeter check only to find out that there weren't any zombies in attacking distance of my house.
  18. I am actually really delighted to see the devs listening and responding to this. It was one of the first things I noted about the patch notes. I think once its closer to release, they could add it as one of the cool features about the game in an avertisment like "Tired of games not matching your expectations of how the zombie apocolypse should play out? Step over to the sand box mode where you can adjust things from the amount of food available to the behavior of the zombies yourself! You can now play out those what if situations you've always wondered about or play through the apocolypse of one of your favorite zombie shows. The options are endless!"
  19. This is probably one of the best suggestions i've seen especially with carrying a book around for reference. I have at least 5 books on my shelf dedicated to this alone, and all are water proofed so i can use them in the field. One in particular I am able to use tree species to identify where a good place to build a well is at or if a lake is near by.

  22. It's a mod for project zomboid. How about this idea for chemists? (I had to look this up on the internet) [nitric acid]: cold pack/artificial fertilizer + [sulphuric acid] Silver-lined container: container + [nitric acid] + silver + ammonia + ammonia/[lye] + sugar Would that give the inside of the container a silver mirror and make it be antibacterial? eh, oh, ahh. I've actually performed this reaction though not to create a mirror, but to create a one way window to promote homeostasis inside of a vessel (basically amateur mars material science research). I do not like this reaction because its very time sensitive and the smell would definitely draw the attention of zombies, if you let it sit for 30minutes without neutralizing the solution with hydrochloric acid, it becomes a vibration sensitive bomb with the vessel acting as shrapnel, so at the very least you need to add hydrochloric acid in the equation. In addition to this the cold pack would supply ammonia, so you can replace ammonia with cold packs unless ammonia is in the game. So a better recipe is: silver lined container = container + nitric acid + silver + cold pack + lye + sugar + HCL Though anyone can really do this reaction, I think it should be at least a lvl 3 so one doesn't accidently blow off their face. Without the hcl though, this could provide the chemist with an explosive that does damage to zombies instead of the knockout gas/deadly gas which are more npc/pc deterents. So another recipe could be. Grenade = container + [nitric acid] + [silver] + cold pack/ammonia + [lye] This should be level 2 though not really applicible, we can swap out silver to aluminum so that the devs wouldn't have to make silver for the sole purpose of these two reactions, unless they are down with that. Having the silver lining at level 3 and grenade at level 2 matches the roleplaying aspect i outlined previously where the chemist has knowledge of making medicial equipment, but is set back by having to adapt to unrefined materials, while the drug dealer has to make a stash before changing his drug making knowledge into explosive knowledge. given the fact that I didn't post any actually harmful explosives in my original posts and only listed indirect damage ones when I had at least one explosive in my arsenal of previously performed experiements, its obvious to me that my pacifistic ideology of chemistry has tainted the usefulness of my proposed chemist profession. I think i will have to go back to the drawing board to make this profession and skill tree more useful in zomboid.
  23. Where would the water tower get water from? Usually in RL it is pumped from a potable reservoir that has been treated. Since there aren't any of those on the map (they could be underground), the water would have to come from the river in WP. I doubt the small lake in WP would provide enough water for thousands in WP and Muldraugh. So I guess I don't get the 'native' comment. I almost exclusively build my safe houses NE of WP to be along/near the river for the endless water supply. Heat up 10+ cooking pots of water at once and I'm all set on water for a long time. Take a minute or two to refill when needed. I admit having more water sources in Muldraugh would be nice. A water tower could solve that. Right now Muldraugh is just for looting for me. There's a few wells, but I don't like their locations The biggest problem with this idea is that you'll run out of fuel for the generator working the water pumps. So the water tower is a short term solution at best. Until we have a way to get fuel from the gas tanks after the power goes out, they won't be of much value. Maybe a few extra weeks of running water depending on the demand? I'd rather dig a well The one for my town comes from the aquifer under ground it is essentially a giant well, and someone treats the water in water tower itself. I meant it to be temporary unless you can make your own fuel later. I feel the concept of the game is that your goal is to live as long as possible, so I don't believe in creating a self sufficient system. A few weeks should by you time to set up things. digging your own well would be cool. I think the water barrels are too efficient in regards to the native comment, I meant no mods.
  24. as far as I recall, zombies don't respawn in your cell, they migrate there, so its not likely they are just spawning on your side of the fence unless I am wrong. People randomly showing up at your window may not be realistic, but my friends when they are hungry sure do show up rather fast. Does zomboid lore have zombies with partial memories of edible humans living in houses? If so i'd imagine them raiding houses at random. Living out in the woodland encounters should be less likely, but i think that is already controlled for by density preference to city areas.
  25. Tell me more about these "mayor" features. I would love to become the mayor of the new zombie town, but I need to know what I am getting into and what powers being the mayor will grant me. Do I get to embezzle the cheesecake supply? Do I have to worry about the content level of the zombies? Surely their rights to form unions have expired right? I truly don't want to be impeached by zombies, but I do not feel that catering to their sensibilities is right for the other town folk. on a more serious note. this would be interesting. what would also be interesting is if it were possible for the person to learn to read over time. One person suggested that they not even be able to write in journals and such, but I think being able to write and create symbols of your own is totally plausible. Other players shouldn't be able to read it though. This also gives me Ideas of signs people could make, like don't go down this way, and such.
