I mean the title quite literally. It would be really cool to be able to find money in increments of, $1, $5, $10, $50, $100, and maybe the super rare $2.

They stack according to amount and weigh almost nothing, BUT you can use 10 bills of any combination to make kindling to start fires.

A cool end of the world scenario would be to show how useless money has become.  There would be nothing more sad to drive home this apocalypse then to be sitting around a firepit you started by burning 10 twenty dollar bills ($200) and eating dog food.

It would be a nice flare to highlight the breakdown of society and add to the general mood.

It would also give you something to put in the Bank vault with all the file cabinets, registers in restaurants, and in smaller amounts on zombies and in houses.  If you ever do steam achievements you could totally do a chain of achievements for how much money you either collected or destroyed.

I thought it would be cool to throw in chess/checkers boards like old school UO had.  It gives players in MP something to do while they're waiting for it to be light, shouldn't be all that tricky to implement, and also gives us another item to decorate with.

If you guys didn't play it originally, here's how it worked:
You double clicked the game board, and it would open up like this:

    http://uo.stratics.com/newspics/drachenfels/df_dc_chess2.jpg

There were no rules on piece placement, you could pretty much move them wherever.  So basically if you wanted to you could make pictures or words instead of actually playing the game.  It made for some interesting discoveries when walking into a public tavern lol.

Seeing as the devs now plan to make bodies harm you if you're around them too long, how about giving the player the ability to dig graves if they have a spade and place bodies in them? You could also add a grave marker if you wanted (maybe only with NPCs and not zombies) with either a custom message, or one the game makes up in a format like "*Name*. Died of *cause* on *date*. Rest in peace."

It would also be cool to come across some graves dug (either via the NPC's AI or randomly placed to look real) with names/causes of other survivors who died. It would also show you how good a set of survivors were getting on (lots of graves in their safehouse meaning, of course, they're not very good at this type of thing).

This is pretty much what I'm saying.

Also, you're wrong on one thing: Choosing anatomical sex is not an agenda, point of view, or fallacy. There is no in between, aside from, once again, birth defects such as having abnormal chromosomes that cumulate in androgyny. There's nothing wrong with being androgynous, just like there's nothing wrong with having 6 toes, brown eyes, or being colorblind. Just because it exists is not a reason to add it to the game. Gender, on the other hand, is left solely to the whims of the player in PZ as is. This is a bare bones character creator. Asking for something as highly specified as this in a game with such simple characteristics, in this regard, is pushing an agenda.

Further, having sex (for pleasure or procreation), having children, rape, and the like are all on the list of confirmed no's. In a game that makes no attempts to deal with sexuality in any way whatsoever, saying (or implying) that it's "part of the problem" just because it wants to happily ignore some of the more controversial topics floating around is a really negative standpoint in my opinion.

This is slightly off topic, but I find the idea that the whole world and everything in it needs to be a billboard for every cause is distasteful to me. Perhaps there is a place for exploring this concept in video game media, but acting like it's the responsibility of every video game to push for change- of any sort- is wrong. Just like poetry, prose, architecture, song, paintings, sculpture, and every other form of art, it should be up to the creator whether they want the piece to be an expression of self, pure entertainment, or present some moral or value. I find it every bit as wrong as censorship to tell an artist that they must force a lesson on their audience.

All these 'traits' are not exclusive to one or another.  Some are stereotypes from a man centric society.  I wish to address this, even though Strider did a good job above.

    Women:
-are a bit weaker than men <- Not necessarily, There are some real tough women out there, as well as weak men.
-cant run for long <- Says who exactly?  Are you imagining a woman running in pumps?  Most runners I know are women.
-are more likely to have bad feelings <- Women are a lot better at emotional regulation than men.
+are faster in organazing and moving items between containers <- Some people are more organized than others, not really exclusive to one sex or another.
+when NPCs are implemented maybe have a better chance to become a member of a group <- Valuable people are valuable regardless of sex.
+have faster learning in cooking and farming <- This one seems the most stereotypical of all.  Did you know that a lot of good cooks and most farmers are men?  Given the chance, anyone can be good at these things, and not one sex has a natural talent at one or the other, its just about exposure and experience.

    men:
-are a bit unnorganized (moving items slow between containers etc.) <- See above.
-are not so good in farming, cooking like woman EXCEPT they have the right jobs for it. <- Again, see above.
-they dont have the same chance like woman to become a member in a group <- Why would you think this?
+are not likely to be scared <- I don't understand how you came to this conclusion. Perhaps you could tell me?
+are faster, stronger <- Men may be on average physically larger, it does not mean they are 'stronger'  Conditioning determines this, not sex.  As far as faster, not to sound like a broken record, see my point above.

I know you said this was unbiased, but what I think you are failing to understand is that you are writing this is a world that is still getting over being mostly male dominated.  Society has taught people that these differences are based on sex, as in "The weaker sex" etc, but are equally applicable to men and women.  Women have been relegated to the kitchen and house work for most of history, while men were relegated to hard labor.  This was a social pressure more than a reality of the abilities of the two sexes.  Now that the world is becoming more equal, and women and men are being treated more as equals, we can see that no one sex is really better than another in most things.  The facts are no women or man are born better at cooking for carpentry, but because we have delegated these roles to a particular sex is the reason you and most others might see sense in your suggestions.  We must be aware the difference from reality versus our personal experience and how we are raised.

TL;DR Men and women are just people, and people can be good or bad at one thing or another.  To segregate this ability or that to one or another is unfair and unfounded.  It is probably for the best to keep things equal. I know personally my wife is a better cook and I am a better gardener, and my buddy is an excellent cook, while his wife has a degree in horticulture.  If all four of us were to race, us guys would probably get our doors blown off and left in the dust.

Note: I wrote all of this just to maybe change your viewpoint, and not to knock your suggestion.  Cheers!

Invader Jim it's worth mentioning that most of the year in Kentucky (read: all but a few days) it's impossible to freeze to death as long as you're still breathing. It doesn't get all that cold there, and they average less than a foot of snow a year. Now, if you're wet and cold, that's something else.

I agree completely.  PZ is a great game.  What is lacks is enough randomness.  Too much randomness and people claim AI cheating, not enough randomness and things get boring.

PZ needs migration and other random events to make it better.  Currently, if you have been playing long enough to know how to survive then nothing will ever kill you unless you make a mistake.  Bad things need to happen randomly (but not too frequently).  It should be easier to freeze to death.  Hordes should move randomly around the map.  There should be a chance that you get sick even if you are doing everything well and getting sick should make it harder to survive until you are well again.   I am not sure I would want random events like lightning or tornadoes that could damage or destroy buildings but the game needs to have bad things happen that can impact your player (even possibly kill) even if you are doing everything 100% correct and safe.  Bad things happen in life. A game without randomness becomes a boring game after a while.

There's confusion I think when people mention "Zombie Migration".

Zombies that are already local to the player WILL move upon triggers (Helicopters, distant gunfire etc). They only move for a short time and then stop.
The direction they move appears to be random. Nobody is disputing that this feature currently works.

What I think most people are really referring to is, when the player has cleared a wide area of zombies, no "new" zombies show up.
Even after repeated Helicopters, Gunshots and even my own wild gun blasting, I get no new zombies coming to investigate.
This is because there are no more zombies close enough to be affected by the triggers (Or if they are, they end up walking in the opposite direction).

I'm glad zombies don't "pop up" and respawn in buildings you just visited, but there does not seem to be a repopulating mechanism in place at the moment.

Th3or1sts screenshots suggest to me that there were hidden zombies nearby that were triggered by an event. I see corpses in amongst the horde which suggest there was earlier combat there which might have drawn the zombies in after Th3or1st had already left. Or perhaps a house alarm he forgot about.

But I don't think those are "new" zombies that have wandered in from town from outside the map.

Before I get hate, I did say and stand by that even if they don't do another update it is worth the full price of the game.  I love it, even tho the end game has a problem of no tension.

I do hope they fix the zombie spawning boredom.  It would be super cool if they added zombie spawning events or scripts you could set up, hordes, and a much larger supply of zombies.

Yeah, not really having the risk of an insane horde surrounding your "safe" house... it's a bit too easy and predictable. Even adjusting Zombie settings in sandbox either makes them too frustrating for me or it doesn't seem like it makes a difference at all.

Money to burn is a great idea!  Considering the state of the world, money would have definitely lost its meaning.  It is something simple to add, would give a reason for wallets on zombies, and would be a nice filler for the bank.  Sure you can burn other things, but this wouldn't be about not having something to burn.  The symbolism this would provide would add a lot to immersion, without being hard at all to implement.

To keep things simple it could just be a 'Stack of Money', and you wouldn't need to worry about separate bills or what kind of money it is. (keeping it vague would help those who don't use USD, etc. from losing immersion.)

Hello everyone, with the build 27 the trapping is out ! So let me explain it quickly (post will be updated, but we're in a rush right there )

PLEASE NOTE : Timed action aren't done yet, so every action relative to trap will be instant, this will be fixed soon, thanks.
The trap system haven't really be tested during internal test phase, so expect bugs (sorry !)

    1) IT'S A TRAAAAAAP

First, you need a trap, you can find Mouse trap in house or build one, with nails, plank, a saw.. Some advanced trap will require a better trapping and/or woodwork experience.

    2) IT'S A TRAAAAAAAAAP

Once you have it, just right click somewhere in the world and select "place trap ->" then select the trap, drag the trap where you want and click to place it.
Place it smartly though, you have more chance to catch a rat/mouse in town zone/trailer park, or rabbit in vegitation/forest, etc.

Then you'll need a bait, any food can be used as bait, I setup a list of bait commonly used by animals, each bait is different and will work more or less well for each animal (SPOILER : carrots for rabbits )

Animal won't be attracted by rotten food, so be sure your bait is still fresh !

Don't put your trap in a heavy zombie infested zone too, animals avoid them.

And that's it ! Well, now you need to often check your trap to be sure someone didn't stole your bait, that your bait is still fresh, or your trap isn't broken, or just that you got something !

Please note that the animals aren't wandering in the world, they will just be catched dead

    3) IT'S A TRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP

You have several animals, from rabbit to mouse, including birds...
All come in different size, all trap are more or less effective for each animal (you won't catch a bird with a snare trap for example).
When you see that your trap is close, right click on it and select "check trap", it'll give you the dead animal, you can then cut it with a knife and cook it (or use in several recipes)
