I noticed gun magazines all have the same menu/UI sprites as shown below from my gameplay: But they should have their own unique sprites. Like here's how M9 15rd Magazines look: And 30rd M16 Magazines: 20rd M14 magazines: I think you get the idea.

What if in the game you could make official firearms (including ammo) as opposed to makeshift zip guns? I was thinking the player could come across some houses with machinery used to make firearms and ammo. Basically an at home workshop for guns. They existed back then in 1993 as well as today in real life so it would be fitting to come across a house with a workshop for guns and ammo the player could use. The player could have a gunsmith occupation to make use of the machines more readily with the right skill level than with other occupations. The player would have to get resources to put into the machines to make the guns and ammo such as steel wood and smokeless powder. Then the player would put the materials in each machine and progress turn them into guns and ammo until they were finished. Such machines would include drill presses, milling machines, lathes, stampers, etc. The player could also come across gun factories to use to make guns and ammo as well as use the already finished inventory of them. You can't always find a nearby gun store or police station and looting cars, homes, dead bodies as well as zombies for guns and ammo usually doesn't yield much not to mention it's tedious. That's why as a survivor it makes sense to make your own guns and ammo!

So my idea is pretty simple, if you shoot a gun, and you are not used to shooting it (Lets say you have a job that doesnt use a gun) you get a temporary ringing, and the more you shoot your gun. the less it rings. Another idea is that lets say your in multiplayer, and someone shoots a gun right next to your ear. You will either get the hard of hearing trait, or if your unlucky. You become deaf. Seems like it could be a good idea, and it gives ear protection a real use.

I recently have found very rare gun,M16 and ammo for it,but I have also found M14 mags.So to use either of these items I'd either have to go look for very rare item which isn't very pleasant to begin with especially in winter. My solution to this is loading a single bullet into gun without mag. It's very slow,but atleast it will make shooting that rare gun possible atleast once a year and not once in a lifetime without cheating.

Hello, I am having a problem regarding chain link fences in the most recent patch of Build 41(and have been since the B41 update). I've noticed as of Build 41 that it is very janky now trying to shoot zombies that are close to the chain link fences, as it'll not target them even if they are the only zombie there. I had no problem shooting any zombies not sharing the same tile as the chain link fence and those attacking the fence on the tile. Below are some screenshots to show you what I mean. As you can see, I am aiming at the zombie that is walking along the fence(Inside my cheated in base, don't mock me). I have the option selected that puts a green outline on zombies I aim a gun at, which doesn't show up when I aim at him. I then shoot all eight rounds only killing the zombie behind the one I was aiming at. My character will aim at crawlers doing the same thing, pointing his gun at the ground towards them as if he can shoot them. I have tried shooting the crawler when my character does this, but I am unable to damage them.

New model for the sawn-off shotgun with sawn-off stock aswell. Now possible to also make a sawn off hunting rifle. This also changes the models for the 1911, M9, Shotgun, MSR700 and MSR 788. Working silencers to specific weapons by caliber. Excluded from silencers are the hunting rifle, desert eagle and shotguns. Added an easy mode for the silencers, since some players might want an even quieter silencer I added it as a seperate file. Just activate the "Firearms B41 Silencer Easy Mode" alongside this mod and the silencers will be double as effective. 3D Models for attachments such as slings, recoil pads and bipods. Removes the requirement to have a screwdriver to add and remove attachments to guns. This mod is a work in progress and I will continue to add attachments and guns as well as replace vanilla models. Please consider this when subscribing. There is a possibility for things to change. Tested and works to the best of my knowledge with IWBUMS 41.50 Please post if you encounter bugs so I can fix them.

I noticed today that a M16 can't use .223 rounds. I do not find this surprising, but it is factually inaccurate. Most 5.56x45 weapons can safely fire .223 rounds. You don't even need a different magazine. Not quite as good at longer ranges though. A .223 firearm *can* fire a 5.56 round as well, but it is potentially unsafe since a 5.56 round produces more pressure that could in best case wear out the gun faster, get jammed up inside the mechanism, or worst case make it explode in your face.

41.39 IWBUMS, Windows 10, Steam, Modded Observed behaviour: Sometimes when encountering survivor corpses in homes, multiple MSR788 rifles will be found on their corpses. In one case, the corpse had four rifles, which seems excessive. Expected behaviour: Dead survivors only have one rifle. Observations: Whenever I encountered this, the rifles had gun-mods installed (sights, recoil pad, stock, etc) . I encountered two separate instances: - In one case, four rifles were found, one which had four mods installed, one with three, one with two, and one with a solitary mod. - In another instance, I found a pair of rifles. One with two mods, and one with a single mod. - In all cases, each rifle appeared to be identical to the previous rifle in the inventory, but with an extra mod added each time. Supposition: Some code is building up mods on MSR788 rifles (and maybe other guns?) in a loop, and creating a gun for each iteration, in addition to/instead of at the end of the loop. Notes: I'm Australian, and not well versed in gun culture. Maybe US folks having four rifles in their inventory is a totally normal thing?

This is 1993 Kentucky. Am I really expected to believe all of these people died to slow and stupid zombies without having time to get their home defense firearm? I expect them to not have ammo left most of the time, but seriously, what's with the lack of personal defense weapons in the pockets and under the pillows?

v41 IWBUMS PTB. I'm not sure if Ive done something wrong but I cannot ever find a magazine for a rifle. I've been to the gun store, cleared it, no magazines for the 7 rifles I found there. I've been to the shooting range cleared it, same thing no rifle magazines. Is there a setting I'm missing in regards to them spawning? Is there a way for me to spawn in a magazine for the rifles so I can at least test them out for myself? PLease help

For some reason, the Reloading skill bar is not gaining ANY XP POINTS AT ALL. I tried starting a game with XP bonus of 1000, and I have reloaded ALL guns and their clips (except the assault rifle; haven't found it yet) and haven't gained a single XP point in that skill branch.

This probably would take a lot of reworking for the firearms but as of right now they're near useless anyway. The current system relies on chance and accuracy with no feedback other than click (miss) click (miss) click (awe yeah you got a hit) Reworking firearms to show more feedback to the aiming factor with a visible cone that narrows as you sit still with accuracy factoring how quickly it narrows and how narrow it's final AoE can affect. Panic could cause it to fluctuate depending on the level of panic while tiredness could cause it to narrow slower and not as well. It would act as more of a gameplay helper with making firearms a useful tool in the game where as of right now pure chance until 5+ skill leaves them as ignored and left behind.

Hi all. As you all know, whis new animation system devs announced new firearms. To add more realystic feeling of guns I think this features should be added. Arms condition and weapon parts. Exploring map you can find different weapon parts, and as you find all you can assemble arms by yourself. Also this allows you to repair firearms after long usage. Cleaning your gun. All guns needs cleaning, to keep them in good condition. Gun brush kit like in ORGM will be good adition to vanilla game. Also used guns that you find can be in different condition, and cleaning it should improve it a bit. Target practice to improve your shooting skills. Making targets from empty cans and bottles and shooting them can improve your skills or or teach you to shoot before the meeting zeds outdors.

This is a global compilation of several mods like Ortmans Gun Mod, Hydrocraft, OZ More Medicine and several other available on workshop mods plus our own home made mods. The compilation is overhauled, rebalanced and translated to play on Russian speaking biggest role play server The Next Day: Zomboid. So what does the mod adds besides the the compilation? - Using handcuffs - blocks te ability of using hands; - Tie hands with a rope - same as handcuffs; - Amputate hands/legs - can cure if you are still NOT infected but bitten by zombie (to amputee anything u need a a scratch first so the menu come up); - You can amutee one or both hands and one or both legs. Every amputation brings its own penalties you will not able to build and use everything that needs two hands without one, you will not be able to run and get tired very fast even by walkin with one leg; - Adds addiction traits to drugs and alcohol; - Addictions can kill you; - Adds several new ways to get sick by cold or by other stuff; - Adds a description option so you can attach a contextual description to your character; - You can read contextual description of character by using RMB on teh avatar or by clicking LMB under the feet of character; - Adds traumas - if characters HP drops under 50% it gives the avatar light trauma perk, if the damage is under 80% it gives a heavy trauma perk. Both perks limit the ability to run, fight melee and build. Are cured with time and care; - Light and Heavy traumas can be dadly if the chcracter is not left in peace for some time in bed/chair and without medical atention. Running/fighting/building can kill you; - Hides "online" button for players, means only admins can see who is online via the game client (we really want to make the word dangerus and unpredictable, knowing that soem badass in online makes you more careful); - Hides the name above the head of the character so the only way to identify a player is the contextual description mentionet before; - Adds a "telportator" an internal script that allows gamemasters to crate items that will teleport characters between locations. Example: you are using a sewer hatch (that is an object bound to ground) once you do it "teleports" your character to another map - example: the sewers. Normally we map a separate area that got no other access then by teleport and use them as doorways. (to use this you will have manually change an ingame file and write down the coordinates you want an item to teleport); - Every new crated character will recieve a debuff trait, that can be switched off only by game master, this is made as an internal server mehcnism to force players to write character lists on our forum. Most part of mentioned features are coded by; AiweLelia, Sinoptik, ComaWhite, myself IMPORTANT For DEV's: We share this mod mostly for developers since we hope, that some of the added fatures might be usefull in upcoming updates. Since my passions are weapons, guns and app development, I wanted to create something a little bit different and unique and this is how Steampunk Weapon Simulator was born. I've been playing for quite a while now with both ORGM's Gun Mod, Hydrocraft, and a few other mods. I started to dig around in the base game's lua files, because I want to add a new point to which gun parts can be placed onto. Specifically, I want to create a new place that parts can be added (like how there is the canon point, scope point, and the sling point) so I can use more than just 3 attachments. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm running PZ on a Mac if that makes any difference.
