    Ahh A fellow Scot! I used to Live in Inverkip, not far from there.  
     
    My plan would be to hold up in my home for as long as it were safe in order to get an idea of how thing are before heading out to look for my Friends and Family.
    All without my car. In mass hysteria, people would be as (if not more) dangerous than the zombies.
     
    For this same reason, I'd also avoid major cities. 
    (Besides, let's face it, Glasgow city center on a Friday night is already full of zombies roaming the streets! )

    Simple suggestion really. It just gets a little boring holding off in Last Stand in the cabin after a while, what about having multiple choices? Just like, in the mall/theater (empty) and the dead coming from the outside would be pretty neat. Spiffos, warehouses etc...

    STOP SAYING SPAWN RJ! People don't like that word hehe
     
    FAO anyone taking issue with 'spawn', every time you run away from an area it unloads that entire area from memory. It becomes impossible to do collision tests on an area of the map that's sat within the mechanical storage of your hard drive. It becomes an inky black vacuum of space with nothing in it, no time or space.
     
    Things spawn every time you move away from them or move back toward them and the only way we can do any kind of simulation of things changing at a distant part of the map is to simulate those changes at the moment you reapproach an area to account for the time that you were away. This is just hitting a fundamental limit on computers until quantum home computers become a thing and it doesn't matter if you're John Carmack or not or what you'd like in a perfect world. PC memory and CPU is finite, 
     
    If you want zombies to 'migrate' from the side of the game world, then we can't persist them from the edge of the map toward the player otherwise your PC would literally need about 600 gig of memory and 8 core 500ghz CPUs. Spawning is completely unavoidable in video games with large worlds. Even the buildings 'spawn'. The only way we can do zombie migration is by simulating it in a vague way an area of the map where it's literally impossible to ascertain if there are walls there or trees or fences. This is what Roman's doing, by using the time since you've been there + the zone the area is in + its chance of being blocked by player construction.
     
    And history has proven that we NEED to repopulate the world of zombies otherwise the late game gets extremely boring. And if you've not gotten to the extremely boring stage of the game, then zombies respawning wouldn't likely affect you anyway.
     
    In short, there are enough checks to ensure that the spawning only happens in locations where the zombies could have gotten to and no constructions are blocking the way, and that enough time as elapsed since you were last in the location that zombies had time to get there and in story terms it would be likely that zombies will have wandered into the area. In time this system will surely become more in depth but its very easy to be an armchair critic of systems like this without really being aware of the full extent of the issues, limitations and requirements that brought it about.
     
    The whole idea is that if it weren't for Romain misspeaking with the boogey man term 'spawn' then you'd never be aware its happening. Games cheat. They need to to get the job done, and this is true of every game.

    When it comes to "Doodling" on a piece of paper, have a small white pad appear with an MS Paint-like interface and let the player actually pixel doodle and draw stick men and zombies and maps with stash locations and stick men being chased by zombies while looking for stash locations!
     
    (Only semi-serious hence why I'm not suggesting it in the Suggestion section)
     
    I am liking what I'm seeing in the build 28 projection. Keep up the good work guys!

    Why do we need military guns for. I mean yeah in the near future damn right but not right now.
     
    Pistol for long range: Shotgun for short.
     
    Id rather have zombies migrating then new toys to play with. Seriously if you played the game before steam. it was scary as hell making a safe house. All it took was one zombie to know you was there then the whole horde will be there.
     
    I miss the old days so much, not being to jump fences . Having so much fun dodging the hordes unbelievable play experience.
     
    I think i was one of the first 100 people to buy zomboid. it only cost me £5.
     
    I remember when lemmys flat got broken into and 2 of his laptops were stolen. Scary days. 
     
    Also trying to keep up with enigma. first person to survive a year on the old build. I still hate him for it

    Yup, it's not like a FPS, and trust me, the bolt action rifle is maybe not a life saver vs a big horde (shotgun is there for that case, but seriously, if you see a big horde, just run, you won't be able to kill them all !) but it's a really good weapon for recon, I finishing the test on it, with the bullet pierce and a good aiming skill, his range is just perfect

    This is a discussion fourm, discussion takes place with or without you, and you have a very hostile tone which leads me to believe you really DON'T want an answer, or rather you'd like to see the game in 3D and you don't care what the reasoning is behind using an Isometric view.
       
    From a technical standpoint it takes about as long to render one of those cubes as it does probably 1-4 zombies, depending on how well the rendering engines are created, if you assume there's what maybe 1000+ cubes on screen, 1000-4000 zombies, roughly half of those sprites would be world rendered so we're talking 500-2000 zombies vs maybe 20, 25 max in "cube" 3D.
     
    Anyway, that's not the point. 
     
    If you disregard the entirety of the technical limitation standpoint on the subject you can also see that it's not just that. A fully viable 3D world is HARD to navigate in first person. Why do you think FPS games have mini-maps, waypoints, compasses, markers, signs, etc. Isometric gives you a fixed sense of perspective and makes it a lot easier to remember and navigate your environment, even if there are some minor issues with interactivity. It also makes it a lot easier to use RPG-like elements in the game. Have you ever played multiplayer and tried to navigate a dense forest with your friend? If it were an actual forest you could probably see right through it and navigate it no problem. But wait, what's this? Your friend can press Q to "shout" and you can "see" where they are even though usually FPS games, even with surround sound, determining the location of where a sound came from can be pretty tough.
     
    The isometric viewpoint also allows some creative freedom with how the world works in general. If you're playing a 3D game and the world doesn't interact with you in just the right, realistic real-world based fashion, it removes your sense of immersion with the game and you become easily disillusioned. And while 3D games do allow more "jump scare" the isometric perspective really allows some extra "impending doom" type of dread. Have you ever been locked in a house, surrounded by zombies at all sides pounding on the windows, 50-100 zombies piling up waiting for their turn at you? In a 3D game you don't really see that, at most what you see is the couple of targets you have front and center, everything else is "blocked out."
     
    Isometric also helps a lot with menial world-interaction. You know how boring and tedious it would be to try to make a farm by moving your character manually to each square to interact with it? (Try playing Wurm, that's 99% of that game.) It's a lot easier to do when you can click on each tile and have your character automatically path and complete the action for you. It's also a lot easier to display information about all of these different things at once because your character can see them all at once. If you walk up to a corn-field you can only see the front two or three rows of corn. With the Isometic viewpoint advantage, it's more like being in a helicopter surveying the field and viewing it from above, and it really gives you a better picture of what the world is like. This helps the player focus more on what they want to focus on, being survival, and less on tedious labor (we play video games to get away from our work, right?)
     
    PS: I have only posted a couple times before, but don't let that fool you. I've been playing PZ for quite a while, and I've been playing my fair share of FPS and Isometic games (since the mid 90's.)

    The player base makes any MP game I guess, and in my experience DayZ draws the worse crowd.  Hell, I wouldn't even be surprised if people still did what they do with insane amounts of zombies.  Luckily, what it lacked for me, I found in PZ, and that I won't complain about that.
     
    If you take this as a DayZ diss, don't.  I had my fair share of fun with "The Running Simulator".

    Because as he said earlier, spiffo being the exception, the game relies on a pretty grim / dark atmosphere.
    We can take the first fallout games as an exemple, Pip-boy is a funny looking cartoon boy, but the game in itself doesn't have any cartoonish visuals or indication at all (because that would make no sense seeing the atmosphere of the game).

    I guess it's a question of the work invested as opposed to the actual benefit seen by the player in game. As in, would it feel any different?
    I don't think it would.
     
    Let me address your main points.
     
    1. are a bit weaker than men
     
    Are women able to crush a skull with a baseball bat. Yes. Is it worth changing the game to reflect their differences in stamina and strength. Probably not.
     
    2. cant run for long

    3. are more likely to have bad feelings (I dont know about this one  )
     
    Are women more emotional than men, generally speaking. Personally, I would feel so yes. Are they less strong for it. I don't think they are. A woman may cry but they're stronger for having cried as they no longer have that burden.
     
    4. are faster in organazing and moving items between containers
     
    I've read articles that highlight that men have better spacial awareness but I've not seen anything that highlights better or inferior organisational skills. People vary too much for this to be worth implementing. Even if there are any differences between the genders at all.
     
    5. when NPCs are implemented maybe have a better chance to become a member of a group
     
    I could see this actually. It'd get awfully lonely in the zombie apocalypse, there would be lots of exercise and a good diet of fresh fish and fresh vegetables. All things which certainly don't hinder libido. If you pair that with the trauma that would be experienced almost daily  I think attraction between the genders would be increased. Speaking personally, I think without TV, computers and other entrainment you'd get bored. It's no coincidence that the birth rate in the UK boomed 9 months after the blackouts (brownouts to my American cousins).
     
    6. have faster learning in cooking and farming
     
    Again, not sure what exactly you're basing this on?
    It's important to remember that when women appear to specialize in a role it's quite often because they've been excluded other male roles due to a male-centric society that has - in many instances - considered women to be second class citizens.

    Ironically, there is a despawning issue.
     
    For example, I found my way to the mall in one of my play-throughs. The mall and car park were absolutely crowded with zombies.
    I decided "this is going to take a while and it's after midnight (IRL)". So I ran back to the Theatre, saved and quit. 
    When I loaded it up the next day, there were only a few zombies in the car park and the mall was empty. As in, completely empty. I ran around without a care. Even the fabled "death trap" escalators were void of the undead.
     
    In your case, when your character died, you were placed back to the main menu. You then would have had to make a new character and load the world up again. This seems to have some weird affects on the "alive" zombie distribution and causes some despawning.

    I agree completely.  PZ is a great game.  What is lacks is enough randomness.  Too much randomness and people claim AI cheating, not enough randomness and things get boring.
     
    PZ needs migration and other random events to make it better.  Currently, if you have been playing long enough to know how to survive then nothing will ever kill you unless you make a mistake.  Bad things need to happen randomly (but not too frequently).  It should be easier to freeze to death.  Hordes should move randomly around the map.  There should be a chance that you get sick even if you are doing everything well and getting sick should make it harder to survive until you are well again.   I am not sure I would want random events like lightning or tornadoes that could damage or destroy buildings but the game needs to have bad things happen that can impact your player (even possibly kill) even if you are doing everything 100% correct and safe.  Bad things happen in life. A game without randomness becomes a boring game after a while.

    There's confusion I think when people mention "Zombie Migration".
     
    Zombies that are already local to the player WILL move upon triggers (Helicopters, distant gunfire etc). They only move for a short time and then stop.
    The direction they move appears to be random. Nobody is disputing that this feature currently works. 
     
    What I think most people are really referring to is, when the player has cleared a wide area of zombies, no "new" zombies show up.
    Even after repeated Helicopters, Gunshots and even my own wild gun blasting, I get no new zombies coming to investigate.
    This is because there are no more zombies close enough to be affected by the triggers (Or if they are, they end up walking in the opposite direction).
     
    I'm glad zombies don't "pop up" and respawn in buildings you just visited, but there does not seem to be a repopulating mechanism in place at the moment.
     
    Th3or1sts screenshots suggest to me that there were hidden zombies nearby that were triggered by an event. I see corpses in amongst the horde which suggest there was earlier combat there which might have drawn the zombies in after Th3or1st had already left. Or perhaps a house alarm he forgot about.
     
    But I don't think those are "new" zombies that have wandered in from town from outside the map.

    I have pulled even larger hordes from shotgun fire, it is surprising how many zombies there can be in an area without really being apparent... thing is that I haven't ever encountered a horde walking somewhere as you explained, I have literally piled days of play-time into pz and have yet to see it. If it IS reimplemented as you theorise (pun lol) then it should be a hell of a lot more common. As is mentioned previously the game does lose all suspense after a few weeks in-game, and in MP it is not odd at all to find entire sections of the town just devoid of everything when far enough into it. I have heard lots of complaints about it and even on a small LAN I usually end up having to GM it and spawn hordes to keep it from becoming 'The Sims'.

    I adore project zomboid and whoteheartedly reccomend it. Infact I can think of around 7 people who bought it on my suggestion, and we are having a blast.  That said...here is my review of Project Zomboid on Steam.
     
    Salient point:
     
     
    Before I get hate, I did say and stand by that even if they don't do another update it is worth the full price of the game.  I love it, even tho the end game has a problem of no tension.
     
    I do hope they fix the zombie spawning boredom.  It would be super cool if they added zombie spawning events or scripts you could set up, hordes, and a much larger supply of zombies.

    Like I mentioned previously, I think mini games would get annoying after the initial novelty wears off. With Zomboid-days passing fairly quickly, we would constantly be playing mini games.

    On top of that there is the technical difficulties that are not being considered. Such as what happens when you are attacked in your sleep or zombies break in.

    The game would have to suddenly interrupt your mini game (which will leave you with momentary "WTF" syndrome). Project Zomboid will then have to dump your mini game and begin the long load back in to "the real world". Not only would that be incredibly frustrating, you would be long dead by the time you load back in.

    A black screen or image is just an overlay.

    Theres more to it than 'is it fun?'. You have to think in the long term. 'Will it be fun after the first 10 sleeps?'

    Besides Viceroy, I won't stop playing Zomboid because I have to not touch my keys for 1-3 mins. I do that already when reading skill books!
