How about being able to hide certain items in other items, such as hiding a pistol and ammo inside a pillow or being able to hide nails, screwdrivers and bullets inside empty bleach containers? This would be more of a multiplayer and npc thing, but late game nails and bullets and small tools can be very valuable and scarce and you would want to protect them. Who would think a bleach jar has 300 nails in it?

Narnobie111 reacted to kemb0 in Simplify (or change) Agility Skills
I find these skills a little confusing and not all that distinguishable (or even useful) to the extent that I'm sure they could be reduced down to two skills and maybe allow us to add something better in their place.

For example, in the PZ wiki, these three

    Lightfooted
    Nimble
    Sneaking

all revolve around "sneaking" in some way.

Also, if you're good at running, that kinda sounds like you'd also be nimble. And if you're light footed, wouldn't you also be good at sneaking?

But apart from anything, I don't feel the benefits of these three really have any discernible effect on the game.  I've never had trouble with the base speed of climbing out a window. I've rarely had trouble avoiding zombies. If they see me, I'll either run (or walk) away, or just pass through a bunch of trees, so losing all the zombies. And is having a faster sneak speed better? Wouldn't that mean you'd have less time to react when stumbling upon zombies?

I'd rather see something like these under "Agility", which I feel would havefer more distinguishable benefits:

Speed - how fast you can run (increased by sprinting)
stealth- how good you are at avoiding detection, reduction in making noise in general. At higher skill, smash windows silently - muffle with cloth (combined current light-footed, nimble and sneaking. increase by doing all of the above)
strength -  allows you to carry more stuff, push back zombies, force open locked windows at higher skill level (increase by doing upper-body physical exertion or carrying heavy loads)
Fatigue - allows you to run for longer / stay awake for longer / get bored slower (increase by pushing yourself to the limits - ie tire from sprinting, stay up late, etc)

All the above you could realistically improve in real life, so it seems odd that you can't currently. If you chop down trees for three days straight, wouldn't you get stronger? If you push your body to its limits you'll get better at handling it.

Little Intro: I've been lurking the site for a little bit now, and I absolutely love mods in games, for the many reasons that I have. For Project Zomboid, that is limited. So I'm going going to *Attempt* to be creating some script programs to help further the modding community, and to attempt to make modding just that bit easier. (Why not make things easier if it is possible?)
Or at least get people started with modding.

    - Create items (Obviously)
    - Create crafting recipes
    - Create the according folders in their proper places. (for PZ build 29+)
    - Create the script file that you're creating items with
    - create poster.png & mod.info in their proper folder location
    - Import item icons to the proper folder

    Hey, guys!

I wanted to apologize for being less available to respond to questions and feedback lately.  Things IRL have been busy and stressful lately and I've been using what little time I have to myself to relax and decompress.  I am going to be doing some updates to RKF in the future but I haven't had as much time as usual to work on it as diligently right now as I have in the past.  Once things calm down some I'll do my best to update RKF to comparability with IWBUMS Build 29.

I'll make a spoiler below with a quick summary of my latest adventures, lol.  Those of you who remember me talking about how I've been plagued by improbable levels of bad luck and didn't believe me need only read on.  Seriously, these streams of successive negativity are so common in my experience that I don't even get upset about them anymore.  I just shrug and wait for the next calamity, lol.

Ok yes I have put in a few suggestions. I get more likes then feedback on my suggestions, But this will not stop me from making what I think are good suggestions.

So what is my latest suggestion well it simple. My current game I have made it 3+ months. And my toon starting to get cold every night. Now a sweeter will fix it. But I some time forget to put it on (I am running a rain parka mod). So I was thinking to help later with cold blankets, sleeping bags, and a snuggies (realy that parts a joke).

You just put the blanket or sleeping bag in your inventory and when you go to sleep it keep you warm at night. It may only work when you are sleeping. I am not sure if it should work at any other times. So what do you all think?

I dont want a game where i will survive against all odds in the apocalypse god dang it, i want a game where i died because i was stupid or because some shit hit the fan and i lose my character or base, i want a game that makes me feel that there is no way to win, just keep going until i die, i want to die in this game, i dont want to win.

I want to find death around every corner, i want raiders trying to rob me, and all the nosie they made make hordes of zombies come to my base and i want to die inside my base, i dont want a game where somehow i beat 5 raiders by my own and then took on a horde of zombies while blasting music.

Make a easy mode for people just starting the game, but make the game feel like you acomplished something when you survive your first week. You are fighting the god damn undead who is killing the whole nation, you alone aint going to survive much.

I want to fear having a zombie see me insde my base, i want to fear having to fight a zombie cause he might grab me and tackle me to the ground to gore the guts of  my level 10 chracter that i took hours to shape up.

I dont want to win in this game, i dont want a happy ending, i want to cry at a game over screen as i see my dead character reanimate and start muching on my sleeping NPC friend who survived with me long enought to see the streets cover in dead bodies and grass.

You could find there many things like medicine, weapons or food but also the area would be full of Zeds.
In my opinion this would be a amazing new location in Knox County.
    Whats you opinions ?

    **IMPORTANT NEWS:

Since the deletion of the past MOD, Project Apocalypse, i have taken up a new project name.

You may be wondering "Why do you still have the old weapons and food on here then..?", well my answer is that all of these items are going to be included in the new mod.

Good news is that i did manage to save some files from destruction from folders i found on my computer, so it will be easier to recreate the mod.

I hope you all will support the MOD from its beginning stages now.  Thank you all!

It is never too early for a
    massive game overhaul

Hello to the community of the popular zombie survival game Project Zomboid.  I am trying to become a productive member for the benefit of everyone.  I have had experience with other games and their communities including Dayz Standalone
    (Community's List of Suggested Weapons)
and Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne (Eras Zombie Invasion map).

This mod is a massive overhaul for Project Zomboid as it includes an extremely large amount of new items.  From weapons to food to miscellaneous items, i am trying to include everything that will make sense, as well as promote realism.  Everything i include (rather it be viewed as useless junk) will have a use.  Either it be crafting, building material, or even as a weapon,
everything will have a use eventually.

    Release Date: Unknown

*For firearms i have looked off of many sources including gunshops in Kentucky, the gun laws of Kentucky, what citizens are able to own and have owned in Kentucky, and off of Kentucky Police equipment sites.  Do not worry about spawn points either, for i am making sure they are always balanced and will make total sense.

**All firearms will have their own individual unique sound, there will be absolutely no generic sounds for firearms.**

For those that are worried that this MOD is going make Project Zomboid another shoot em up zombie game, the goal is not that at all.  I have taken the liberty to balance out all loot spawns and to make it realistic, please do not post any comments relating to how its going to ruin Zomboid (remember: you also have the choice of downloading it or not)

I think random moving hordes, like the hordes in TWD, would be a constant up in difficulty. But please make them not come to me no matter what I do... if I choose the (very boring) playstyle far-out-in-the-woods, I should be relativly safe. A horde wandering out far in the forest should be very uncommon (maybe they followed a helicopter flying over them, and had no other stimulus since then so they still wander in the direction the heli flew-stumbling over your unlucky toons camp).
But if I stay in urban areas, wandering groups of zombies should be a constant danger, as should making noise be.

Lategame new accomplishments and dangers could go hand in hand, making the game having more to achieve but also new drawbacks and dangers.

Like, if I build my base, start farming and start to sustain myself that way, I should also have new goals like getting a generator running to use the fridge again. Or getting a car running and pimping it mad max style.
For the generator for example I would have to go out and scavange again, need a car (if introduced) to get the generator from the hospital/shack in the woods/mall/ etc etc to my safebase, need fuel and spare parts. The search for parts and stuff would be dangerous if the hordes are back, so a new way to die even if late in the game. Also the generator makes noise and whatever code determines how hordes move could take the generators noise into account, upping the chance a horde moves to the safehouse.

I think lategame, the safebase playstyle should still be viable, with punji stick traps, walls (like brick walls) no zombi can destroy and other ways to have it really safe. To get the player killed, I think it's much more rewarding to have the player choose if he wants to risk something for something and die in the process, and not to make death absolutly inevitable in cheap ways like a constant increase in zombie population or needed items just vanishing from the map or breaking without replacement.

Also, later in game, the wildlife creeping back into town could create new enemys added to the zombies. Bears or wildcats could be a rare but dangerous encounter for the lategame.

Another way (if hordemovement is back) could be a real big horde moving from one edge of the map to the other. This could simulate giant hordes wandering across the continent. This could happen ramdomly after some time has passed. Like, after 3 Months (the time needed for these megahordes to form) the new danger "megahorde" is introduced like now the watershutdown. A megahorde would be like a natural desaster, to be avoided at all costs or fought to the death.

But, what I disliked about the hordes that tore down my base everytime, was that I had no way to make a zombi barrier at all, and that should be possible. I don't like that zombis can break through everything I've build. To build a base that no zombi can tear down and starve inside it besieged by 400+ Z has its own horror. I would have to fight my way out, loose the horde and travel to a new town... and someday I might come back to my old safehouse with the horde gone.

Nearly every Zombimovie has the survivors building their base besieged by Z. I want to have this, too. Of course it's not my game and you guys can do what you want with it, but I think the "Would I survive, and how would I do it?" is a strong part of the fun playing a zombie game, and if I knew the game would kill me later, no matter what I do, it would kill the fun (for me at least).
