    Can I put in a special request for this patch? Please PLEASE can we roll around barbecues? Because once we can do that, I'll never leave Cortman Medical.  Nevermind me, I just saw there is a BBQ in the backyard of the house behind Cortman Medical. I'll just build a bigger fence!

    Being outside too long in extreme temparures and be very harmful, and being too hot or too cold should result in some health problems. Being outside for too long should result in a sunburn that gets worse the longer you are exposed, same with frostbite in the cold. Also a possibility of adding sunscreen and very warm clothing to fight these maladies

    I almost hope they only add cars, trucks (with a bag slot as their trunk) and maybe bikes as vehicles, everything else I see as being not quite necessary.

    - 8-2-2014 - UPDATE!:
     
    Well, SERVER IS LIVE! ... server box I mean, ahem, not the PZ server xD. So basically what that means is that after much tinkering and browsing forums and articles and the oh so beautiful google search engine I set up a dedicated server box. I've tested a PZ server on it, works fine, connections works fine (had others log in). It's on a pure raw power Linux distro OS with basically nothing else running on it (or at least nothing that would cut into RAM or broadband) and a direct link to modem (well, it goes through a switch to modem. But that's much better than running a server off a router that also happens to give off wireless signal). RAM is bit limited, I'm projecting 7 or so stable slots (not the greatest, I know). And that's something I'm likel to upgrade soon to ramp it to 14-19 slots. Specially if people seem to like the server.
     
    Technicalities aside, there is a 99% chance that this server idea/concept will turn into an actual server. The only reason is not open to the public yet is because I'm still running a few tests, have to set up a few more things, and because build 28 seems like its to be released soon. So this server is most likely to be released after build 28 is released.
     
    I've already received several whitelist reservations. I'm glad to see people are interested in being part of this; keep em coming!
     
    Lastly, like I've told those who have contacted me for whitelist reservations, there will be some changes to the overall concept. Most specifically to the area of mission-driven events. Can't tell you much right now (all the details are being held until the server is released). But you can expect the changes to make this server a tad more Roleplay based (you're expected to keep conversations related to the game/gameworld), and more emphasized on factions/gangs/buddying-up. But storyline, game settings, PvP/PvE still holds.
     
     
    Stay tuned . I recommend that anyone that is looking forward to this server, especially those who have contacted me for reservations to follow this post for further updates.

    Character bio: Born and raised in the cold, northern land of Canadia. At the start of the outbreak, Alex was travelling through the states on a tour of many large hospitals to speak with surgeon generals, medics who've served in wars and other people who interested him in his field of medicine. 

    Being caught in an unfamiliar area when shit started to hit the fan, Alex panicked a bit more than was necessary and locked himself up in a small house just outside of the small town he was in.

    Two days into the outbreak, a small group of survivors stumbled upon his safe house and, going against his gut, he let them into his safe house and saved their lives. There were 4 people he saved in total, two of them were ex-police officers going to the police station in town to try and salvage guns and gear to survive, Alex tagged along with them because he was bored sick of being in his safe house eating nothing but canned goods and what was left in the house. 

     

    Going into town made Alex realize how bad this outbreak was, after many hours of sneaking around, dodging behind corners and not breathing for long minutes, they finally arrived at the police station entrance, Alex grabbed the door with his left hand (Right was currently taken up by a pocket knife he always has) and tugged.

    Update:
     
    - reworked post to better express what this mod is about and what to expect from it. This is due to taking some time to better assimilate myself with PZ modding. Now I can set more viable goals, set it apart in comparison to other food preservation mods out there, and make this something that won't require you to start fresh new games after every update.
     
    *The first release of this mod will contain all items that need to be spawned into the game world that the mod will ever need. Every update thereafter will just add code, recipes, and functionality. So you can be sure if you install this mod you won't need to ditch your old saves to play with the mod (you will need to start a new game for the first release however as items don't spawn in containers you've already looted, but that's up to you, if you haven't already looted the whole map in your current game you can simply install the mod). Keep in mind though that an official game update might break the mod and therefore require fixes that 'might' not work with an old save. But that's expected from a game in alpha.

    I think/hope a lot of aesthetics will be added to the forest like rocks, small creeks, etc... Things that are there for visual but don't really affect the game play
     
    And then there's also features that WOULD affect gameplay: Wilderness noise that cuts out the faint footsteps of wandering zombies, or the light moan of a nearby zed...
    And other things which I'm not gonna say cause right now I'm thick

    I got an invitation for the group to join magnum2016's role-playing server, i accepted and once he sets it up after build 28 we will help him build the town.

     

    This is a Role-Playing group about the Kentucky National Guard after they are sent in to quarantine the towns of Muldraugh and the surrounding areas.

     

    We will have multiple roles, ranks and divisions for people to sign up for. Like medic, foot soldier, sniper (when the developers implement the hunting rifle), CDC Expert, CDC Scientist, Officer, General, CDC Director of Operations etc. 

     

    Once we get things under control we shall border off the town of Muldraugh and establish a base of operations outside the town just off the highway coming into Muldraugh.

    Hello to the community of the popular zombie survival game Project Zomboid.  I am trying to become a productive member for the benefit of everyone.  I have had experience with other games and their communities including Dayz Standalone
    (Community's List of Suggested Weapons)
    and Warcraft 3 Frozen Throne (Eras Zombie Invasion map).
     
     
     
     
     
     
    This mod is a massive overhaul for Project Zomboid as it includes an extremely large amount of new items.  From weapons to food to miscellaneous items, i am trying to include everything that will make sense, as well as promote realism.  Everything i include (rather it be viewed as useless junk) will have a use.  Either it be crafting, building material, or even as a weapon,

    I can just imagine it...
     
    Running into a forest to try and escape a horde after you had to use your gun for an emergency
     
    Tripping over rocks, getting whipped by branches and falling into small grooves or ditches since it's so dark

    Ooohh, if the train needed at least 4 full cans of gas (20 lbs of gas) and your character had to find a very rare, only spawns at one random point in the map, manual or something... I could see this being a very rare nearly endgame thing which you could use as a portable safehouse almost... 
     
    This could be a huge thing, if the inside of the train was a mini house with a tent and stuff... 
    +1 for this idea, has just about endless possibilities if it's done right!

    Back when my line of work was a lot more journalist-y I’d do a lot of interviews with Executive Producers, Senior Marketing Vice Presidents and all other manner of other glorified mouth-pieces for the big publishers. Whenever they brought out the old “of course, we’re doing this for the community – they’re who matter!” line I’d start to roll my eyes. I wouldn’t stop rolling them until I’d asked my killer ‘DLC plans?’ question.
     
    I don’t want to be like that guy – the guy who talks about the value of a game’s community without once visiting it, and praises it as a part of some bullshit boardroom checklist.
     
    Without Project Zomboid’s community (without you - the person reading this – whether you’re a lurker or a regular) times could’ve been so much darker. We owe you a ‘thank you’ so massive it’s almost impossible to deliver. Your testing, your enthusiasm, your friendship, your shared passion for the game… it means more than I can convey in a simple forum post.
     
    I’m not going to whitewash the bad stuff. Two years ago TIS self-inflicted some wounds from which it took an age to recover and gave ruffians ample room to play, and I know that the fabled ‘winter of no content’ was tough on us all. (I don’t think we ever answered the question of what constitutes a ‘white knight’ and what constitutes a ‘troll’, but we certainly seemed to get closer to the answer than most…)
     
    So, before the Steam Early Access launch potentially stirs things up, I wanted to say thank you. To our moderators, to our regulars, to our lurkers, to our critics, to our fans, to those who dip in and out… everyone. Thanks for giving a shit about our zombie game.
     
    Speaking on behalf of all of the Indie Stone, all of our contributors and anyone else who’ve found themselves strapped onto this rollercoaster for the past couple of years – it wouldn’t have been the same without you, and it’s entirely possible that it couldn’t have happened at all.

    So I've been watching these forums closely for a long time now and never felt like I needed to comment. I was always happy to read what others suggested for the game. But recently with the news of things to come, be it far or near have made me want to make a suggestion.
    So here is what I was thinking. Wouldn't it be cool if the track had some sort of use. A train that allowed quick but noisy transport up and down the track. With news of the city map expansion in the works, I think it would be something interesting to look into. Considering the map will double in size. Instead of having anyone able to operate the train maybe you could start off with a profession or find a rare instruction manual. I know the devs want to make the game realistic (which I think is awesome, too many arcade shoot em' ups out there) but there would have to be some way for players to acquire the knowledge to operate the train to make the game balanced. I haven't really thought about it too to much but I thought it would be a cool idea to throw out there.
    Secondly about cars. It's just a suggestion about the placement of cars more so than anything. What I would like to see is the highway densely populated with cars and maybe less, but still many in urban areas. While suburban areas would be less populated with cars. I'd imagine in a zombie apocalypse everyone would be trying to escape in a frantic hurry all at once and highways would become congested while the suburbs would be more or less evacuated or clear of cars.
    Thirdly and lastly. I couldn't find a word that rhymed with planes for a more clever title for the thread and then I thought, why not add some fancy champagne to the game. No better way to get drunk in a zombie apocalypse than some classy champagne. Add a little more variety to the games alcohol and another role play aspect for the players. Something small but it would be cool to pop a bottle of the stuff with your group after clearing out the town of zeds or whatever the occasion.
    So I'm not sure. I'd like to hear what you guys think of my suggestions. Like I said, my main suggestion is the addition of a train to the game. I personally think it would be cool. But I'd like to hear what others have to say on the suggestions.

    I personally think that there are way too fucking many first person perspective zombie games. It would reduce originality and increase hatred, "Oh, another DayZ ripoff. Early Access? Fuuuck no."

    Awesome idea, one more suggestion, checking every room in a house leads to -panic unless a zombie is seen, any zombies seen need to be killed for the -panic, otherwise you will be panicked while you travel around the house until you leave. -panic also occurs if you check all rooms and see no zombies (even if they are in the room you just don't see them.)

    Testing this on my SP game right now as I've been trying to make the canning mods work (I need that for my farm!)
