I was having fun gunning zombies down and noticed my character was bored/depressed and suddenly an idea hit me.

There could be a new trait called the psycho trait! With this killing zombies and surviors would relieve your characters bordem and make them happy because they love seeing blood and suffering! Of course there could be a downside that books and newspapers just don't cut it when it comes to making him/her happy.

    EDIT:
I'm not using the word "psycho" to describe psychopathy. If it's a problem then just call it the "Bloodlust" trait.

For a long time it have bothered me that the 9mm bullet icon is a box and should be single bullets instead like with the shotgunshells, .223 & .308 Ammo.

Anyone agrees? I hope they fix this soon! Maybe in Build 29?

Getting the game harder to survive the longer you're in it sounds great. Last time I got far I died from experimenting with bugs out of boredom. But please don't ignore the general zed lore about the fact that they probably rot, a lot, as time goes on... And get weaker. I don't see how muscles get stronger from withering away

I luckily haven't ran into any gamebreakers. Only one grafical glitch.

Zombies sometimes change 3d model to exactly replicate the players skin and equiped weapon for a split second.

EDIT: The hardware store in west point is being registrerd as a library...

This is VERY promising. Keep up the good work. And just a though... Maybe try to add a bit more variation in colors for some of the buildings. They almost look identical sometimes.

You do know you can get in and out using a sheet rope right? I do agree if your point is to walk up put ladder up to the window and clime up and look to see if it locked or not that I can see.

As to the OP great idea. As many zombie moves show us up is the best way to lose a zed. Less there a nice stairs for the zombies to use.  I will offen in my sandbox game find a two story house. I will nail shut the first floor and hang a few sheet ropes out and go in out that way.

-Don't use sledge hammers/hammers/axes as weapons unless you have no other choice, or you have a spare stored. They are vital in base construction.

-When possible have 2 sheet rope exits from your safe-house, and put higher preference on windows where you can see the tile you land on.(Windows facing south east and south west)

-Take the time to construct a safe-house near areas where you expect to spend more than a few days. Having one near a looting area can save a lot of time during the looting runs and if you leave some supplies there(non-perishables, some spare weapons), you have a fallback if your main safe-house gets swarmed.

Some very useful tips I've only lately found out myself!!

If I may add more to the list...

    - Always have an extra backp-up weapon in your primary inventory when fighting/exploring around many zombies and not just at youer safehouse (weapons can break and leave you stuck in a tight spot with zombies (Pressing 1 for blunt weapons,2 for guns and 3 for sharp weapons in your primary inventory is helpful)

    - Don't be afraid to stockpile tons of chips, peanut butter, instant popcorns & etc vas your emergency food so you never run out of "fresh food"

    - Don't be afraid to take a day off and just read a book (for a skill advance)

    - A good way to "travel" (which you're gonna have or want to do if you actually play Project Zomboid a lot) is to put a duffelbag full inside a big hiking bag which is equipped on your back, then 2 two schoolbags or duffelbags + in your two hands. (This lets you carry many necessary supplies you've looted from a town to your next safehouse/safehouse in bulk!)

    - Bandanges weigh nothing so there's no reason not to have a few ready in your primary inventory (Painkillers can keep your character going through other fatal injuries which you just don't quite have time to treat properly right now!)

EDIT: Also, this is prettty helpful for playing in general.  http://pzmap.crash-override.net/?#0.4344797878309586,0.15243750380309343,114.47545997288273

So I became VERY bored and decided to share what I've found out about the game trough my own playtrough.

This is by the way in no special order. :!:

-ALWAYS loot corpses. They do often have something valuble like bags or even an axe!
-On the subject of axes, DON'T use the axe for combat unless you have to. You will have to use the axe to get planks later in you session so you do NOT want it to break.
-Even after the water has been turned off you will be able to find some water left in sinks, toilets and bathtubs. Bathtubs have the most water left in them.
-Don't fight zeds near windows. If you swing and break the window you are possibly going to call all the others zeds to dinner.
-Checklist for main base. Two floors, not too far from the center of either west point or muldraugh, bedroom on top floor, bookcase for easier sorting of books and such.
-Garbage bags should always be on the "shopping-list". You will need them for rain collectors.
-Guns are a bad idea. Just don't use them.

I know there's been a lot of discussion about composting rotten foods, but I was thinking that cultivating mushrooms could go hand in hand with that.

I think it would be cool to be able to find mushrooms in the wild and be able to feed yourself by eating the right kinds and poison yourself by eating the wrong kinds.  Maybe even some mushrooms (poisonous and not) that tend to grow around dead bodies in the grass.  If you can have varied types of compost, you could even use those to find the best way to grow certain kinds of mushrooms.

If it merits it's own skill to be leveled, there could be a mycology skill for determining whether found mushrooms are safe to eat, and maybe until the required level is reached for a type of mushroom, uncertain mushrooms could all look the same in your inventory.

Yes! You're right on every point. I did not think for the amount of time needed to realice the points you made here. I am one of those who feel uncomfortable around big amounts of blood. I love the hopeless setting of the zomboid world and how you just won't survive the apocalypse. This is why i love the censor mod that allows the possesion of a great game without the masses of blood that comes with it. I'll edit the post to make more sense

This game is awesome game and I LOVE but I am very uncomfortable around big masses of blood like many others who love a good and hopeless story like PZ. So my suggestion is simply a setting to lower blood amount or remove it.
I know that this is possible because of this mod(that I'm currently using):The Censor (Updating to build 27)
The blood doesn't fullfill any use or mechanic but is simply there for grafical purpuses. This would make the process of censoring blood SO much easier for those who want it.

This is a zombie apocalypse. There are corpses walking around and eating/infecting people. There are desperate and crazy people willing to do everything from stealing from others to killing each other, both for survival and because of paranoia/insanity. Bashing bodies with baseball bats or shooting them until they are unrecognisable is a common activity. You are playing a game meant to simulate very grave and depressing times, with even the intro itself revealing that you will die no matter what you do, that the only thing you are doing is delaying your death (which will most likely be a horrible one).

Now, why would you think that reducing/removing the blood of all things would make this game more accessible for younger audiences? By just looking at the very setting this game takes place in, it's already very obvious that this isn't a game meant for them regardless of wether you try to censor small things like the blood. The rest of the violence and such is still there. I'm going to make a very crude example here, but to me, this would be like just putting a small black bar over the genitalia of the actors in a porn movie and declare it "suitable for a younger audience".

Yes, I can very much understand why you would include an option to reduce or remove the blood. There are people out there who are afraid of blood or just simply feel uncomfortable by seeing it. I can certainly see why this wouldn't be a bad idea at all to include for those reasons, because they might still be mature enough to understand what the game is about and what they are doing in it. But to do it in order to make the game more accessible for people of lower ages? That doesn't make any sense at all to me, honestly. By the setting and intentions of this game alone, that is, to make a realistic simulation about your average person in a zombie apocalypse, this game simply isn't meant for people who aren't mature enough to handle that. Removing blood effects will do nothing to change this.

I think(hope) the game will be aimed at more mature audiences, what with all the zombies eating living people and the social intrigues that will arise once NPC's are in.

However I have had this sneaking feeling the game is going all PG13 though with the number of spiffos everywhere, it certainly looks like it is meant for small children, so that wouldn't really surprise me either if they went all out child-friendly.

    Hello guys!

Some of you might remember me from the old days of previous forums. I was (and now once again I actually am) creating the fan comic about Bob and his wife Kate (main characters of the singleplayer story, wich doesn't take a part of the game at the moment), about what was happening to them moments before the game starts.

For a long time I did not work on it because of the family matters – I have faced death, naissance, also I quit terrible job under the terrible boss and suffered consequencies of this spontaneous action, then got married and got a fair job and now my life feels quite stabilised again...

Below are the panels from the past (and expect an addition later on today – drawing is complete, I will just add lettering ) One of things iam not proud of: style is quite drastically changing during the process, since it is made only from time to time and I am drawing better and better (I am making only a tiny little steps, but it's still noticable), and I did not want the first image i drew to determine overall style of the comic in long term.

    Would you like to:

    a)
See completely new and original characters living their deaths in the apocalyptic Kentucky?

    b)
Continue with these two (Baldspot and his wife), and see their alternative future (because who knows how are the DEVs going to torture them?) Drawing style would be changed one way or another (as i stated earlier, I want to be able to do more panels, so black and white and somehow simplified work is inevitable.
