Rausheim Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Reloading Mod v.0.2 - Make your own ammo! Now handloading has finally come to Project Zomboid. Since I'm an experienced handloader and this is one of the things I would be doing irl to keep my ammo supplies up if I had zeds walking around. The mod is very realistic regarding ingredients and such. I hope you'll enjoy it! FeaturesReload 9mm, 223, 308 and shotgun shells.Several new items with custom textures.Reloading recipes.Empty shells on the ground after shooting.Cast your own 9mm bullets and buckshot Planned featuresCast your own bullets - DONE!Plate your own bullets (for 223, 308) - WIPStationary reloading press Items9mm bullets (and in a box you unpack)223 bullets (and in a box you unpack)308 bullets (and in a box you unpack)Buckshots (and in a box you unpack)9mm brass (and in big packs found in gunstore)223 brass (and in big packs found in gunstore)308 brass (and in big packs found in gunstore)Gunpowder (1 for rifle and 1 for pistol)Primers (small pistol primers, small rifle primers, large rifle primers, shotgun primers) (They come in a box you unpack)Wads for shotgun shellsDie sets (9mm, 223, 308)Reloading pressReloading press for shotgunReloading manual9mm Bullet moldBuckshot moldLead Ingot Recipes9mm: 10 9mm bullets, 10 9mm brass, 10 small pistol primers, some pistol powder. You also need the reloading manual, 9mm die set and of course the reloading press. This will generate 10 9mm. 223: 20 223 bullets, 20 223 brass, 20 small rifle primers, some rifle powder. You also need the reloading manual, 223 die set and of course the reloading press. This will generate 20 223's. 308: 20 30cal bullets, 20 308 brass, 20 large rifle primers, a bit more rifle powder than 223. You also need the reloading manual, 308 die set and of course the reloading press. This will generate 20 308's. Shotgun: 240 buckshots, 12 empty shotgun shells, 12 shotgun primers, some pistol powder (yup, in my manual it says that). You also need the reloading manual and the reloading press for shotgun. This will generate 12 shotgun shells. Bullet casting: You need a lead ingot, a cooking pot, bullet mold and a lit candle. Put lead into cooking pot, then use the mold. BugsEven if gun is unloaded, it will still generate empty brass. This is due to limitations regarding lua scripting atm. Thanks to Viceroy for this. Rathlord Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Really cool mate! It's not a feature I'm keen on seeing in the vanilla game, but as a mod really fantastic and much needed. Hope to see more from you in the future! SuperJack 1
Rausheim Posted August 14, 2014 Author Posted August 14, 2014 I love realism and the "thought" of continiuty, but even reloading supplies will run out. Making smokeless powder is more or less impossible without a big lab and such. Blackpowder is doable, but require some chemicals that also will run out. Update: Now the guns only give brass if you actually have ammo loaded. Replace ReloadingMod folder with this one. Viceroy and Rathlord 2
Viceroy Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Cool, definitely gonna be using this myself. Pop me a PM whenever you notice a bug and need some help. Always happy to help. EDIT: Just tried this Rausheim, love the ambience of seeing a place after a gunfight and having expended shells and brass everywhere. Edited August 14, 2014 by Viceroy
JohnBrawnJohnson Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 Looks neat, will keep looking at this and will definitely snag when Hunting is added (can't wait!)
Deadend Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 You should use PZ-mods.net for hosting your PZ mods. It's basically the unofficial PZ-mods repository. Nice to see you pulled through with this mod

Rathlord Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Really cool mate! It's not a feature I'm keen on seeing in the vanilla game, but as a mod really fantastic and much needed. Hope to see more from you in the future! Why? It's realistic and a lot of people do it in real life People make large hadron colliders in real life, too. Fascetiousness aside, while people certainly do it, it's faaaaairly uncommon (speaking as a gun nut who's lived and grew up entirely with large communities of gun nuts) and the supplies are limited. Between the limited number of skills, the inability of people to "learn from doing", and the limited resources, it's not something that's struck me as a good vanilla feature for a game that aims to represent the "everyman" in the apocalypse. If you'd like me to expand more, feel free to PM me- no sense disrupting this mod thread with the discussion. I definitely think it's fantastic for a mod, though; adds that extra set of features in for the people who like them. Pravus 1
Rausheim Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 Version 0.2 is out! Now you can cast your own bullets. Rathlord 1
Rausheim Posted August 23, 2014 Author Posted August 23, 2014 Fixed typos in the script that resulted in not giving ammo when reloading. Fixed now.Added a new feature: You now have to Size and prime the cases before seating the bullets. Enjoy! Rathlord 1

sikiter Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 can you make a compatibility mod for ORMTNMan'S real guns?
fluffe9911 Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Above if you looked at the last time this had a post you would see that this mod is highly outdated and not being devoloped any more lol Man_In_The_Purple_Hat 1
