Cube by Cube. So modular? It's really useful building scenes using modularity; piece by piece. You can get loads more done in a shorter span of time since you're not making large models and UV Unwrapping all the time. In case you have no idea what I'm talking about: Not mine: Image Source You'd model one type of wall, unwrap and texture it, then duplicate that around the scene. Rinse and repeat with other things like pillars, windows, corner sections, etc. Kitt Frostpaws

I mean more in the sense you do this on a regular basis, Unity's stuff for building levels is seriously lacking. It's a shame it requires a third party in order to really kind of complete what (I would kind of consider) is an integral part to an engine. Kitt Frostpaws
Like.. It's an engine obviously, but at the same time it feels like it wants to be some knock-off 3D Modelling program. EDIT:I don't like Blender, but at-least that isn't having an identity crisis.
Rathlord
It's still a perfectly competent engine, it's just trying to work its way towards an all-in-one tool. As long as they don't compromise the core features (and I don't feel they have) I'm find with it expanding in other directions as well. I tried playing the keyboard in middle school, but I couldn't read notes - I just didn't process it. Yet I'm sitting here using lines of code. Speaking of which, my tutor just basically got the door for the starting room to open.. Only took me us him half an hour. Dancing clyde for an opening door! The door once opened And the magical code that opens the bastard thing! Jonientz and Footmuffin

Kitt Frostpaws
Vector rotation for the win! I'd already tried like three different tutorials on it and none of them worked, then my tutor just kind of came in and tried a few of his own tricks, none of them worked as the door was REFUSING to rotate past 180 on the Y axis, so he tried that and rotated it on the X(?) axis, which caused it to spin out like a cat flung from a catapult. So he adjusted it for a bit then switched it to the vector rotation. I prefer C++. EDIT:My 700th post, didn't expect it to be in this thread. Kitt Frostpaws
I prefer C++. Why? Because I actually have reference material for it.That and I'm trying to keep a positive head about C++ seeing as that's what I'll be using on the uni course if I get into it. That surprises me, which University you going to? I wouldn't imagine it's something you would tackle until the later years of the uni.
Rathlord
This will probably not be terribly well received, but C++ is fairly... dated. I mean, clearly still widely in use for a million applications and great to learn, but learning C# is, in my opinion, a much better way to learn to code and (hopefully) more useful in the future.
