  1. I like logging, it is so much fun to see all of the trees I have cut down. But you shouldn't need a fire to do it.
  2. But in pvp scenarios I'm not sure automatic weapons will be a positive addition to the game. Headshots are a lot harder when spraying bullets everywhere so in the zombie fighting sense, not so great.
  3. I like this . But I'm not sure about the military thing. Automatic weapons would make it too easy.
  4. It works all the time except for when it doesn't. No power generation is as simple as glass and wire. If that was the case we would have had solar panels in the 1800's. And solar panels aren't all that efficient. If they get damaged in a storm even one section of a cell, the effectiveness is reduces by 75%.
  5. Around where I live these things are necessary albeit on a larger scale. We have big ones up in our a ttic, all they kinda do is just drip the water on the ground and make a big mud puddle though.
  6. This is an idea I see everywhere that would not work for one simple reason: realism The types of wood that make up the forests in-game are not suitable for making a bow, typically you need something like ash or yew (those two grow in the U.K. and not in Kentucky.) Hickory, maybe oak if your hardcore. otherwise your "bow" will just bend a little bit and snap. However, pvc is an excellent bow making source as long as: A: You use the right size and type. B: You include the stuff that actually makes pvc, you know a bow. and C: you don't seriously screw up and kill yourself. There are two main types of pvc bows, the flattened bow, and the fiberglass rod bow. The fiberglass rod bow you basically cut some fiberglass poles into the right lengths and shove them down the pvc pipe. The flattened bow requires a heat source and a flattening bar (basically just a 2-by-4 with some stuff added on) and makes much better bows than fiberlgass rods will. I suppose you could use a plain pvc pipe but it will collapse after 2-3 shots.flattened bows have draw weights that range anywhere from 10-80 pounds (eighty is along the lines of an medieval english longbow). Sorry if this is hard to read I am pressed for time. Source: I have done a ton of research on this stuff, and have made a few bows.
  7. I don't think most people would know how to do this.
  8. and a shotgun, don't forget that pretty shotgun good point
  9. Give this man a medal cookie chezburger supercomputer taco monkey pet racoon zombie baseball team the light of ashrune and a really cool car Great idea sir you deserve all of these items and a really big peach tree. Edit: peaches are in season.
  10. A chisel and mallet. Yeah. I think that done properly you could forgo wood glue. Surely an expert carpenter can lock a wooden structure in place with basic engineering principals. I don't want to stick my neck out as I don't know what I'm talking about however I do no that it's possible. The question is, exactly how good would you need to be? using precision tools like a drill-press, jigsaw, or table-saw it is extremely easy to do this. I actually do a lot of this kind of stuff, and although wood-glue is a go-to its pretty easy without. Not using power tools on the other hand. Probably not so easy. Although the native Americans did that sort of stuff sometimes.
  11. It would eat 20 lbs of gas in a minute wish there was a reliable source of gas somewhere.
  12. Sound draws zombies, and since rain causes sound maybe they would be much more active during rain. Moving about almost constantly and being much more alert to stimuli (other than sound of course which would be slightly dulled). I think this would be a really cool addition and increase immersion, difficulty during rain storms, blah blah (insert excuse for putting it in game here).
  13. No automatic guns for sure. Those are illegal EVEN in gun stores. I am all for adding a rifle and maybe a revolver though.
  14. :3 I would recommend different traits
  15. Maybe they did all turn at the same time. We don't know the origin of the zombism. Would like to see that though.
  16. ONLY if there is a hobby that lets me know how to clear a jammed gun, dissemble a gun and put it back together, swap out weapon parts, and make a recurve longbow out of three nails, a hammer, a can of beans, and a toothpick.
  17. Gun jamming generally doesn't require a cleaning kit, mostly you just have to clear the jam by either cocking the weapon a couple times to cycle a couple rounds (this drops 2-3 bullets on the ground) or dissembling the gun and clearing it that way. Naturally older guns jam more often so a gun with lower durability would jam more often. And the oldest might explode in your face. And you should still clean the gun every so often since not doing so increases jam frequency.
  18. I was playing on the Bedford Falls map that has an Insane Asylum. It was without zombies, just for adoring the great mapping. But still, even without zombies, the Asylum was so creepy, I left it rather quickly! My own suggestion: Place/Landmark: water tower Where: Out of town, mayber on higher ground, a hill. Reason it'd rock: Makes a nice fortress. You've got access to a lot of water and it could have a fence. Also: who doesn't want to live in a tower? Zombie Density Expected: None. That's the only drawback. I was actually talking with someone about water towers in the apocalypse yesterday. When water services stop, the water in the tower would continue to flow to houses until it is empty. Water towers are built the way they are to utilize gravity and save pumping costs. It would be empty in a matter of hours, unless you manage to get to the water tower and cut off all the lines. Which draws out the suggestion, cutting the water lines extremely early in the game would allow you to survive without rain barrels for a long time. Assuming you DO cut the lines: "Also: who doesn't want to live in a tower?" glub glub glub.
  19. I have one thing to add. No Clowns...
  20. This is assuming that the looter has a sledge and happens to be carrying it with them on looting runs. Although it is true. Maybe metal sheeting to make house walls invulnerable to sledge? (or at least more resistant) Finding someones safehouse, going back to base for a sledge, comming back to the house. This doesnt take long to be executed. Sledge is terrible. It should take longer to break anything. Right now the safest place to hold loot in is hiding it under a tree and abusing games perspective. If the looter is carrying a sledge it also limits the amount of supplies he can steal from you. Still think that sledges are OP though.

  22. I know locks are already planned to be added. And to go with them, I would like to suggest reinforcing doors. Reinforcing doors would be similar to barricading them, except that you can still open the door and you cannot remove the reinforcements. For example: Say steve builds a door, he is on a multiplayer server and doesn't want his stuff stolen, so he uses 6 hinges as opposed to 2. The door would now require more damage to break the hinges (I am assuming it is the hinges that break and not the doorknob since the entire door breaks down rather than bursting open.). Also suppose he finds some sheet metal in a warehouse. He then attaches the sheet metal to the door, further protecting it from things like axes and sledgehammers. To reinforce doorknobs, you could add another knob and use both hands to open the door, or use deadbolts to not only lock the door but to reinforce it. Edit: Also pushing furniture and things in front of the door to prevent entry. (by liongoat)
