  1. I have had this idea creeping around the back of my head for a while, and now that Martin the lovely Animation Man is on board, I think the timing couldn't be more accurate. What I am talking about is, as title suggest, Idle Animations. A series of animations that the character would do when left unattended for some time. Like, when you don't move your character for some time, he would pull a map/piece of paper from his backpack/pocket, and start to look at it, while sometimes scratching his head, or turning the map upside down. Or your character would start to beat his leg on the ground onto some tune, or even the background music if the developers are too bored not busy. Or he would scratch his head, like he is annoyed that the player has "forgot" about him. Now, I understand that the developers are busy with reworking/adding some animations and actions and whatnot into the game, and I don't even know how hard/time consuming making animations are, compared to how insignificant this is. But! I think Idle Animations would be cool, as they have been seen in numerous games, like C&C series, Donkey Kong Country, Sonic the Hedgehog, Many FPS, and many more. And they always have served as an "easter egg" in these games, as player rarely leaves the character unattended in these titles. It also brings some liveliness into the game, as the character would do some actions without the player giving them any commands to do so. And as for coding this in, it sounds fairly easy in THEORY, as the animation would trigger if the player isn't doing anything for, let's say, for 10 seconds. And it wouldn't do it during any actions, like reading a book or rummaging your backpack, as I believe these actions will have their own animations in time. And for the "It would look stupid if my character would look his map during sneaking in the middle of a horde." this can be limited by the panic meter. Talk, suggest, argue and share.
  2. Now with build 26, the error message also got update, although not fixed. Maybe it helps a bit to understand why it happened with a more describing line. Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalStateException: map_meta.bin world size (1145393987x1) does not match the current map size (23x26) at.... Please, I need help. I still cannot open multiplayer server with this version 2 map, as re-opening the server after first time play is not successful. Try verifying your PZ cache. Go to your steam and click properties on PZ, then verify steam. I have a problem with Bedford some of the map is missing. I had never been in this area before today. Vaguely, it's these two areas: Every other part of the map seems fine however. More screenshots, up close and personal. Thank you in advance. Yup, I have this problem too. Except it isn't showing like the half of the bedford falls.
  3. Gotta love those satellite views. Zombie godzilla might be a slight problem, but nothing you can't handle. Here's what I would do: 1.If the main room is not infested, quickly look behind every window if there might be an empty spot. 1.5 If there is, open the window and run as fast as you can. 2. If there is none, just open the door and run. They might try to grab you, but if you run fast enough and don't stop, there is a high change you will get out of it fine. Have done this a couple of times. Actually have done this, I had gathered all the supplies I needed to move to the farm, when a horde had decided to make a picnic just outside my safehouse. Started to clear it out, when a fast one, faster than a average zombie, rushed towards me at my weakest. Got bitten, got angry, ate my Chicken Casserole which I had saved for situation like this, grabbed all my whiskey, sawed-off shotgun, pistol and all the ammo (Which was alot). Went out and started a revenge-lusted rampage, herded the zeds to a nice round ball of flesh, and started to blast off. The fight continued o the late night, with the muzzle flash of my shotgun being the only light source. When the fight was over, I was walking throught the Parking lot of Bodies, when one of them leaped towards me. I let it grab me, and just stood there, looking at it while it chewed my leg. Took my Axe™, raised it behind my back to get some force, and chopped the chewers head off. Went inside, sat to my counter, and fell to the ground. It was glorious.
  4. http://innawoods.net/ This site is awesome, it let's you build your own survival gear setup, from weapons and pouches, to small appliances and whatnot. It's still in it's early state, but I have already spend hours building guys for different scenarios. Here is my zombie survivalist for cold regions.:
  5. OK,need to make sure here. Is this just sometype of thread roleplaying thread? Or is this really gonna be a actual player-based survivor group in the actual game? I have owned the beta of the game for half a year and it just keeps getting better and better. But if this is gonna be real group we are talking about, then I had to make an account just that I can contribute to this. So, let me present to you: 18. Name Edward "Eddie" Boyle Age 32 Gender Male Role Guard / Security (Or any role that is lacking, so that not everyone is outside of the walls bashing zombie skulls) Background Edward had a rough life. And it was the most usual one. Mother died at the birth and after his mothers death his father became abusive and alcoholic, committing suicide when Edward was 16. Edward thought that he couldn't follow the path that he had been building anymore, and decided to start a new one in the beautiful County of Knox. After this Edward had many shitty jobs, 3 relationships which all failed (2 for cheating, 1 for fighting which eventually led Edward to the court). To this date, Edward had achieved nothing else in his life than an decend job as an security guard. So, Edward decided that it was his time to go. He bought a handgun with the last money he had, climbed on to the roof of his home building, and cocked his gun. He raised the weapon to his temple, and just as he was ready to shoot, he heard screaming. He looked down to the street level, seeing a someone attack a man right outside his door. But this "thing" wasn't beating the man to death. It was eating him. And soon, a couple more arrived. Eddie rushed back inside accompanied by alarms, and into his apartment, still not believing what he had just witnessed. But Edward had seen his share of horror culture to know what this meant. Deep down inside, he knew, that this wasn't normal assault. No, this was something completely else. But even when knowing what was going on, Edward wasn't afraid. He wasn't scared. He wasn't even worried. Edward had looked Death face to face. And Death had offered him an alternative. This was his new path. This was his new life. And he knew, That he,for one, would welcome their new zombie overlords, with a grin, and with a bullet.
