Shagyee got a reaction from getstoopid in Crutches/Wheelchairs
It's been a few years since I last suggested or posted anything, but I've been continuing to play and keep up with the updates. The new animations have given me a few ideas, as there's a lot more you can do with them now. The main one that comes to my mind is more treatment options for fractures/broken bones.

Almost every play through I've built a cabin on I end up having to splint my leg and gimp it out the next few weeks out of town digging for worms to survive. Which is fine, it eats up a lot of time and sanity but in the end it's not too difficult to pull through if you're out of town. If you were able to prepare for this ahead of time however, it could add another risk and reward to the game, if there were crutches or even wheelchairs (if vehicles like bikes are added this wouldn't function too much differently) in medical buildings, giving a good reason besides medicine to hit those places before leaving town. This would allow you to continue travelling at a decent pace while disadvantaging you in combat.

I was thinking a crutch would double as a weapon, being able to be equipped on your back, however when there is a broken or fractured bone in your legs you could hit the sneak button or something to use it as a normal crutch. This would leave a free hand open for a bag or weapon, and improve the speed of your limping, also allowing you to "jog" while injured.

The wheelchair would probably be sitting in the buildings and have to be ridden or pushed back to your base, be faster than crutches but make combat very difficult or next to impossible without a ranged weapon. I figure this one might be a little harder to implement though.

I noticed that the ability to jump taller fences was added. This is a really good feature and I'm glad it's finally in the game.

The first time I tried this out there was a crowd of zombies on the other side and I immediately died.

My first thought was, if I saw over the fence before I jumped, I would never have hurled myself into a crowd of zombies like that. It would be helpful if the first time you clicked "E", you pulled yourself up, enough to see over, and a second press would make you jump all the way over.

A very helpful option would be a button you can press to stack any items in your inventory to nearby chests that have the same items. For example, if you have an inventory with shotgun shells, they stack on top of the shotgun shells in a chest next to you.

Terraria does this and it's super helpful and makes unloading after a trip way less tedious. A similar option would be to restock your inventory, like if you have a couple sheets in a chest and then in your inventory, it will stack all the sheets on top of the ones in your inventory as well as anything else you have in your inventory that is in nearby chests.

There is a mod for this, however it does not work in splitscreen or with a controller.

Shagyee got a reaction from Pandorea in Sandbox Option to Make Freezers Non-Perishable
Under the sandbox options you can make freezers keep food fresh for a long time but there is no mod to make them stay good forever. I spent the first in-game month collecting frozen meat and put freezers in my house just to find out it'll go bad eventually.

It would be helpful to have this option for people who want it and like to stock up on meats and vegetables in the beginning.

Shagyee got a reaction from bliss in Honk and Run
Sometimes when trying to get the attention of a giant group of zombies to get them away from a building I'll hop in a car and honk the horn a few times. The only problem is if you press honk a couple times, you won't be able to get out until every action is completed. This has killed me before because I was sitting there waiting for my character to finish honking and was surrounded before I could escape.

I'm not sure if it is different for keyboard and mouse but it happens on the vehicle wheel for the controller.

Shagyee got a reaction from Mork in Tuna as Salad Ingredient
I've found a few different recipes that I personally thought should have ingredients as options that were not present. There was only one that I would mainly like added, however, and probably the most logical out of what I've found. I'd love to be able to make tuna salads, especially when I have an abundance of crops and cans of tuna (it seems to be more common and used in less foods).

Two other minor suggestions is the ability to add ingredients to soup (canned soup in pot is a complete meal, no optional ingredients) and fried eggs. I had eggs and pans without rice or noodles for a significant amount of time, and I just kept wishing I could cook some sunny-side up eggs.

Shagyee got a reaction from TrailerParkThor in Pull Up Sheet Ropes
Once you'd pull up the sheet rope, you couldn't go down if you destroyed the stairs, and once you're at the bottom and the sheet ropes down, they can destroy it if you got rid of the stair case so that still wouldn't work anymore. And you can basically already do this by removing rope every time you climb it and adding it when you need to go back down.

At this point there's plenty easier ways I've found to cheese the game, like making maze-like platform entrances or just enough layers to mess up the zombie path-finding. This idea is more of a convenience than a game changer, you couldn't exploit it in a way you couldn't already do now.

With the semi-recent mechanic of the zombies destroying sheet ropes, I have a suggestion to simplify use of these. Currently, if you want to pull the sheet rope up behind you on your way in, you must completely remove it. Due to this, I now keep a hammer a nails next to the windows with sheet ropes to easily remove/add them.

My idea is to have a way to pull the sheet rope up without having to remove it and re-nail it in. It would work well under the right-click menu that allows you to remove/close curtains and close the window.

This only became necessary after the zombies were able to destroy them, which explains why the feature was probably overlooked.

Shagyee got a reaction from TrailerParkThor in Barbed Wire Weapons
The nail bat is a classic and I feel like a barbed wire bat would fit right in as well, as there's already barbed wire in the game.

It'd take a few new models and sprites, but if you were able to wrap barbed wire around many of the base weapons (guitar, shovels, big pieces of metal) it could add another use for the item as well as more of a reason to use lots of those lower tiered weapons later in the game.

Hello everyone! In the Project Zomboid It is possible to carry fuel ONLY in gasoline cans, which looks a little strange as it is possible to do it in bottles and similar containers (Beer bottles, bleach bottles, and so on)
And also  Transfer water in gasoline cans, which would also be very useful.

Shagyee reacted to Sedgwick in VCR's and Tapes
    HI all!

I thought VCR's and video tapes would be a really neat and appropriate addition for the game, considering the time the knox event takes place. By '93 Kentucky had close to 2 dozen Blockbusters, and plenty of other smaller rental locations.

The 80's and 90's had all sorts of educational tapes, so skill tapes would work well too. And the easiest addition, boredom/stress reduction videos. It would give TV's a use after the initial programs are off the air, and players would have to take the risk of turning up the volume to listen to the tape.

    Thanks for your time!

Yeah a good few of us are British including 3/4 of the directors, so we were aware of this it's set in the US so US colloquialisms rule and it is just extra funny to be called a fanny pack anyway, it seems a rather tame thing in a brutal dark zombie apocalypse to worry about tbh. We've resisted renaming pop to soda still I guess though we'll get to it!
