  1. Is the server running the same version of Project Zomboid as you are? Has the game maybe been updated but the server files haven't or vice versa?
  2. I imagine they wouldn't be transmitting something like that. I could understand that sort of thing for a weapon the scale of a bomb, but not a rifle. I would think M1A1 is actually supposed to be a code name designation for a team/division or maybe even a directive with the location being transmitted to those that undestand what the M1A1 directive is. Doubt it, but just a thought.
  3. It's worth pointing out that a real guns name is trademark, that you would probably need to license or seek permission to actually use in the game. It is why you see games with fake names or generic names, it's because they don't have permission or sought the permission to use the guns name.
  4. Alright, looks like we will have a look at evankimori's suggested site names. So, just so i am understanding this, is it ok to link to the PZ wiki from the HC wiki for vanilla items? EditOr at least use the images? Yes. those are both completely fine.
  5. I spoke to Will at TIS, and he is wanting to know, if it's able, if we would be interested in having the hydrocraft wiki hosted in a subsection on the PZ wiki. I don't think he knows for sure if it's doable or not, but says he will ask around. So, i guess we will see how that pans out before finding a site? Also, he mentioned that using PZ vanilla assets is perfectly fine in regards to their terms and conditions as long as nobody was making money off of it, which i assured him, is not what we're doing. Another thing, he wants to know if adding it to Mondoid would be of any help, and i mentioned it would be great once we get a basic shell set up. Thoughts? Subbing it to the main wiki is a great idea since we can just link original items and insert our own item table as well. It's all up to admin and if they're willing to accommodate us and if community players are willing to contribute. I know it's a touchy subject when someone else's work ends up on your own wiki. Adding it to Mondoid would be nice for exposure but I'm pretty sure Hydro and the coding crew already have their work cut out for them unless they're willing to split a workload. And I'm pretty sure they don't wanna spread it around so much and not have Quality Control etc. Sub-main wiki would be easiest to manage. At least there for the articles and recipes will be able to be corrected quickly and easily. I don't know if Will responded yet, but for the sake of speeding up what you're trying to do. Hydrocraft will most likely not have a subsection on the main wiki.
  6. I sought professional help on the advice of Kirrus and I won't say it will help you, since different people, different minds but it certainly did me a world of good.
  7. For those who can't be bothered going through the link: Comments from OP:
  8. Nope :/ Where did you get onlinetest from as a beta branch? It's long gone now, the default version of project zomboid can now host multiplayer so you don't need the beta flag. It's also worth pointing out that you can download a PZ server with an anonymous login, but I can't remember what the app id for it is. https://steamdb.info/app/380870/depots/?branch=iwillbackupmysave this? Now it stuck in SteamUtils initialised successfully Don't see anything about online test on that site. Have you tried connecting to the server now, once it request that stage?

  10. Hey folks, So recently I have noticed an increase in the amount of replies, threads and messages here and across other sites regarding the current state of Project Zomboid Wiki generally following with a statement such as "The wiki is outdated." Now generally the usual response has been "Perhaps edit it" however the conversion between saying and editing has been minimal to non existent, even the valiant efforts of the Mondoid has not done much to bolster pages and update information. For the past few months I have been sitting back in regards to the wiki, as I worked away with other projects, work and University. However now I have reached the point where I'm tired of seeing these messages, so I'm personally going to do another update push in the same vain of my wiki overhauls of 2014 and 2013. Now I'm not here to moan about the lack of editors on the wiki, or make another call to arms. We have done that already, instead we need something that is more important right now. Information. Now admittedly, yes I could just dive into the wiki and wander around the pages and just stumble across what needs updating (and in all honesty I could probably throw a dart and find a page that needs to be updated) however I think it's more important I find the pages that matter to the community most. What people feel need to be updated NOW. These pages will take precedent in the edit I will do towards the wiki So now is your chance, if there's something you think should absolutely be updated on the wiki mention it below, if you feel there's something non content wise that should be altered about the wiki, speak now! Just a couple of notes. Please no responses along the lines of "Just go around the wiki" or "Wiki outdated" give actual examples and why they should be updated. Keep it civil, wiki might be outdated but a lot of people took time out of their day to put content on there. Thanks, I'll be keeping an eye on replies (if there are any.)
  11. I guess you should have used the PM system if you wanted to have a one on one conversation with someone, rather than posting publicly.
  12. Yeah, I'm really unsure about the whole situation. On one hand, it's free, seemingly more functional than Windows 7, and looks pretty. On the other hand, it apparently collects everything about you (passwords, email contents, sites you visit, etc), there's speculation that Windows 10 updates might be paid, Microsoft might manage to screw it up somewhere as we still don't trust them after the Xbox One launch and Windows 8, and it's a new OS so there's going to be lots of bugs and incompatibilities. I don't think the skepticism is bad in itself, and I think people have plenty of reasons to distrust or not move to Windows 10, but there seems to be a subset who are deliberately trying to give people an incorrect idea of what Windows 10 is doing, to feed hate. I mean I don't mind people disliking an OS for what's there (the privacy stuff is pretty bad at the moment, but some of the worst stuff can be circumvented) I just don't like people spreading misinformation.
  13. Lot of weird anti-windows 10 stuff floating around at the moment, even though the argument they are trying to make is a bit suspect.
  14. The devs (to me anyway) seem to have made no qualms over the fact that sometimes they mess up what something is called or how it's named in game and in this very thread Will has addressed the fact he appreciates this feedback. I also found your comment about cars... strange. Have you been lead to believe that the majority of the cars in the game wouldn't be of notable American (knock off ) brands? Seem to be commenting on something before it has been shown. Finally, it might be worth pointing out rants are not a helpful way of feeding back this information. Pointing it out, or even putting it in the bug tracker (though I suppose some could debate if that's the right course of action) rants, lead to emotional threads, which leads to warnings and locks and can just end up being wasted time for those involved.
  15. Aye, I'm gonna stick with 7 as well, while watching how Win10 turns out from a safe distance. Wise choice. I'm of the mind set that the reason Windows 10 is free, is because they're trying to suck people into the new MS ecosystem, which requires subscriptions into their services rather than a physical product. Move towards the cloud I guess, a direction I'm not a fan of.
  16. A name change to a thread won't make a difference anyway, people usually skip a lot of pinned topics around here. Some read, some don't. It's just the nature of it, and you only hear from the people who don't read the thread in these cases rather than those who do.
  17. It's worth pointing out, "finished" is a very loose term. It's not like as soon as the game hits version 1.0 that the game will stopped being worked on. Taken from Steam Store Page: It's not like it will hit V1.0 and everything will come to a stop, I imagine PZ will continued to be developed for some time after release (e.g. Minecraft)
  18. Yes, in this case I don't see why you wouldn't just use the SpiffoSpace server, since it's kind of the reason it's there.
  19. Locked. I feel what needs to be said has been said, and in the interest of not having the topic further de-railed with accusatory sleuthing, I'll close this down. Remember folks, be lovely and if you honestly believe nefarious things are happening you should really report it and not take matters into your own hands.
  20. Please no-one make a phony report because of this thread, otherwise you will feel my wrath.
  21. I think some people may need to step away from this thread. Remember folks you are free to disagree with each other, but always keep in mind the golden rule around here, of Be Lovely!
  22. There have been a couple of discussions on merchandise and the consensus (I believe) seems to be that it would be rad to have merchandise but don't expect anything soon. As for a plush spiffo, there exists only one in the world (I believe) which belongs to Mash.
  23. Yeah, sure. I bet the pancakes are buying you off!
  24. Using an external IP to connect to a locally hosted game of PZ has always caused funky business and has generally been unadvised.
