No kidding. Good luck killing a zombie without a weapon.

The animations you talk of tend to be a little arcade like though... PZ is going for a more representational simulation sorta thingy for its combat, I think. Who knows.

It will never happen. The devs have said so, it's been discussed ad nauseum. The problem is that regardless of what game mode you play on, it will cause changes in the way the game is played, chance the public perceptions of balance and difficulty, etc.

My case and point rests on a similar permadeath game called Tales of Maj'Eyal. The creator there decided to allow people to turn off permanent death 'because we want it and it won't hurt anyone or affect the other players in any way.' Fast forward to today, and Tales of Maj'Eyal Steam page has threads of people complaining that the game is 'too easy' because they can just respawn and always win everything. It would be exactly the same in PZ- without permadeath, not only would players play differently (allowing them to take more risks and thus win more loot), it would also cause them to think of encounters differently (if you fail at taking the 500 zombie horde, who cares? Reload and go down the other street this time so you don't get trapped). Then you have people asking the devs to spend time rebalancing the game just for them in a game mode no one was ever meant to play.

I understand why people want this, but much like a parent telling a child to touch a hot stove- sometimes you just have to recognize that the developers know better than you how games work and how they want their game to be. So, feel free to talk and debate about it- after all, that's what these forums are here for, but it will not happen. Period.

If it didn't take a lot of time, then I don't see it as a problem. If they were actively focusing on anti-suggestions, then yes it would be a bit of a problem.

Tool tips like that are exactly the kind of gamey, unrealistic stuff PZ tries to avoid. You learn the capabilities of weapons by using them- just like in real life.

Meh, I don´t like stats like this to be implemented. How does a average person know the damage done by a weapon or even the accuracy.

As for the mags: In previous builds it alreadye was like that, don´t know if it is when changing the reload difficulty to hard.

Dr. Julian Whitaker runs "alternative medicine clinics." As such, by definition, supports 'folk remedies.' Also, I hate to be "that guy," but an online source (from a website named after the doctor posing the idea, nonetheless) is farrrrr from a real reference.

There's a saying I heard the other day "If a folk remedy worked, it wouldn't be a folk remedy anymore." That is to say, it would be taught in medical courses and found in textbooks. I'd just… recommend taking a look at your online sources before posting them.

    Dr. Julian Whitaker:

Julian M. Whitaker (born August 7, 1944) is a practitioner of alternative medicine who promotes vitamin cures and other alternative therapies through the Internet, self-published newsletters, and books.

Whitaker opposes the use of pharmaceuticals in the treatment of mental illness and believes that psychiatry is fraudulent.

The combination of medication and talk therapy endorsed by psychiatry is a "script", says Whitaker, who claims in the interview that his golden retriever can provide talk therapy just as well as a psychiatrist. According to Whitaker, vitamins, such as those promoted on his website, can cure psychiatric disorders by improving general health.

Whitaker has been a controversial figure, and has been criticized for his self-promotional approach to medicine, potential conflicts of interest, and his embrace of scientifically unsound practices.

The National Council Against Health Fraud (NCAHF) criticises Whitaker for promoting himself as "America's #1 health advocate," "America's #1 health champion," and "the physician America trusts." According to the NCAHF, Whitaker advocates potentially dangerous therapies involving growth hormones, chelation and megavitamins, and intervenes on behalf of other "maverick" doctors in legal trouble.

The Los Angeles Times notes that Whitaker serves as a consultant to vitamin companies advertised on his website, a practice criticised by other doctors who prefer to promote only evidence-based products. In the article, Whitaker is classified as a doctor "mixing celebrity and cyberspace"

Several problem: Digging is very hard (how are you going to bury 100 zombies???) and you still have a bio-hazard, it's just in the ground now. That could contaminate your water supply if you have a river or wells.

I hate to burst your bubble, but you evidently do not know a THING about modern warfare.  Taking stats out of perspective makes your arguement like a table with one leg, foolish and useless.

The US military has been using a technique called Supressive Fire and Cover Fire since WWII.  The technique basically denies an enemy the ability to poke his head up and take a shot a you, least he risk taking a round for his trouble.  Bullets are EASY to come by, soliders are not.  Even wounding a solider takes three men out of action (the wounded one, a medic and someone else now has to carry the wounded ones load).  US Soliders are trained to shoot center mass BUT they are also taught how to shoot, move and communicate as a unit (fire team, squad, platoon....).  Some times this method means you send a ton of rounds downrange just to keep the enemy on his heals or with his head down.  If the enemy can't shoot you, chance are they wont be able to kill you.  Conversely, we can leap frog up to his position (one soldier taking cover, then using cover fire to allow a buddy to run forward to cover, rinse, later, repeat) and the kill them using the best tool for the job (indirect fire, grenades or simply a shot to center mass).

Zombies don't care and they don't shoot back.  They win by the shere mass of numbers and the "head shot" requirement to put one down.

I can personally see somebody trying to build this in the zombie apocalypse, then dying horribly after trying to ride it through a zombie infested area. I don't personally see why that wouldn't work, just it wouldn't be smart. Nor efficient, really.

...Or you could just add a basket to the front, and bags to the sides of the rear rack, and strap bigger stuff to the rack as needed. Like people actually have found practical to do in real life.

I think weapons won't be OP in any situation, even if they decide to add automatic weaponry. The usual gamey long series splurges won't be giving any head shots and you will be just wasting bullets and a single burst is somewhat comparable to a rifle. The main balancing comes from ammo shortage and noise. You'll most likely draw such a crowd by shooting that your ammo won't be sufficient enough. Guns are effective against humans and the occasional emergency bail out. Also I think that atm guns are too accurate as you're getting a head shot with almost every shot... But this is more of a beta thing...

I am an average dude and can field strip an .50 cal, Mk-19, SAW, M60, M16, M4, M9 and shoot them at "expert" level as defined by the US Army.  I can also repell out of helicopters or down the sides of building (Air Assault FTW), SCUBA dive... there is more, but this is not about me.

I think most "average" people don't have a real clue how to pick a lock.  I mean someone can play at it with a paper clip and a screwdriver, but the real world is not Fallout 3.

I saw your mod and it looks AWESOME, but I won't use it.  We are in Alpha and are suppose to be testing the mechanics as they exist in the game.  That said (I have said this before too), if the devs give a PZ Stamp of Approval to a mod... I would use it.  I also like the spray can marking mod.
