    Hello All! 
    After quite a number of days tinkering with various things and examining code and etc I bring you
    Sleeping Bags.
    You can craft these Survivalist> 1 pillow, 4 sheets.

    This mod can be added to and extended by anyone in the community, but credit must be given to the original author within the files of the mod - and posted alongside the mod wherever it roams.
     
     
    You can click the sleeping bag directly from inventory or drop it on the ground and choose sleep in sleeping bag.
    Have a Great day and please let me know if you have any problems with this mod, I have tested many times with no errors.

    check this out.. tried it a long time ago it works.. i dont know if it will work now with so many changes in the current build. its also in chinese make sure you download a .zip file.. good luck..

    only the site is in chinese also the descriptions of some traits.. you might also need a zspawn mod or something im not really sure.. i dont remember much sorry..

    It would be cool if Radios could play custom music on survival singleplayer, like have a folder on our computer that plays MP3's from that folder, would be cool to hear radios playing our music in the distance or luring zombies with "Never Gonna Give You Up."
     
    GTA and The Sims do this, seems like a cool idea, even though it probably wouldn't work for multiplayer. Singleplayer is good enough for me.

    Hi Kirrus,
    thank you, i've been researching all through there already but much appreciated. I've tested some of the more obvious ones like the guard command and it works.
    one of the more annoying things so far is I have not yet figured out how to make it simply have a basic brain and do things like wander around etc.
    One thing I should make clear to anyone reading in here is that I have no intention of creating anything even remotely as good as what the devs are doing. Rather,
    I would like to have some simple npcs for us to play with until the real ones are finished, have them do things like wander around, attack a zombie if one gets close,
    search and find food, weapons etc and "eat" if hungry, some basic conversations with player. Others reading should realize the difference between a modder trying to do this with trial and error, and the devs who have full scope and understanding of all their own code and years of working with said code. I've seen the videos by Chris Simpson where he shows a player saddled with an npc "brain". I would love it if someone who actually knows the code could give some examples of how to do some of these things.
    No worries Kirrus, I have no intention of doing anything harmful here, really just a personal type of goal to see if and what I can get working
    I'm thinking Insayne doesn't come here anymore, and has moved on, but if wanted to collaborate, i would be up for it.

    We must do what's best for the game, which is not always what's best for modders. We do sympathise with the extra workload, but this is not a hugely drastic switch in art style. The style is generarally staying the same. The change is in resolution. Please don't berate the devs for doing what they think is best with a game which is in continuing development. It's called an alpha for a reason.

    There are a number of events designed around interacting with or replacnig the AI of NPCs (including zombines). Will see if I can find the list, assuming you haven't already.
     
    The stuff in Chris's videos, though, is a total replacement of the NPC-centric AI code shipping with the game. There's no simple way to do that.

    If you've not already seen it, there's some javadocs here, which might help you find the calls you want to make;

    It's doesn't get updated often at all, but all the old abandoned AI code hooks are in there. You're more than welcome to call it, but we would recommend starting from scratch if you can. Once the 'official' code is finished, we'll have better modding ability, hopefully. Nothing's set-in-stone yet!
     
    Be aware, we'll be watching this closely, for it's possibility of going bad, but also with curiosity and interest. We can't promote anything to do with NPCs mods for now as much as we'd want (see previous thread), but for sure we will if/when we can
     
    Onwards! I'm not sure MisterInSayne is around much these days, but it might be worth dropping him a friendly PM? Maybe you could collaborate?

    I am working on my "Hello World" for project zomboid modding. The idea is pretty simple, just interact with the world and have your character say different things based on what your doing. Right now, i haven't tested this in multiplayer so I'm not sure how that would work (might have to rewrite some stuff based on player). The reason why most of these things are in the planning stage is simply because i don't know how to access some of the things like traits/prof/moodles/etc providing i have the player object (zombie.characters.IsoPlayer). So if any one could provide that information to me, that would be great! Anyway, leave a suggestion if you have one or a line that you would like added to the game and under which scenario. Thank you.
     
    Working
    -say something on attack based on attack type (swing, stab, firearm)
    -say something when a zombie dies
    -say something when you go outside/inside
    -say something when running
    -say something when aiming
    -say something when sneaking
    -speech for different moodles
    -speech for falling
    -speech for player on fire
    -speech for reloading/out of ammo
    -speech pending player traits
    -balanced so it is conditional and frequency based so it will not fire all the time (spam reduction)
     
    Work in progress
    -item specific lines for killing zombies
    -item specific lines for attacking zombies
    -container/item specific speech ("FOUND AXE!" when viewing container inventory)
    -player is reloading / out of ammo
     
    Planning
    -speech for being attacked/scratched/bitten
    -food rotten/stale/cooked/burnt/eating
    -during an action or on completion of an action (fishing/reading/foraging/etc)

    I know npcs will eventually come into game, but I am very interested in attempting an npc mod.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this? I am not new to modding nor LUA. I simply have no real reference

    If anyone would feel comfortable sharing the npc animal file as well I think I can create a decent npc mod by using both files as reference. In testing today I achieved similar results as Insayne and was able to get the npc to almost attack me, however I need some way to "tag" the npc as player or other method to get the zombies to attack the npc as well as attack methods for npc -> zombie. I also was successful in creating the guard command which makes npc react and ask where you want him to guard. 
    Edit: thanks to fluffe9911 I have the animal file.
