Our entire forum is for discussion. there are general discussion boards, suggestion boards and all kinds of different threads to get involved in and don't be afraid to post a thread of your own if you can't find a certain discussion topic already started. It's pretty organized over there and we do supply a type of mod that no other server does... currency.
From what I understand; Hydrocraft includes a wealth of guns, and radios will (hopefully) be implemented in build 33. I am not sure if they will run the same way as the mods may have them worked out, or if the devs will copy/paste the best mod version's coding into the game. But I'm with you on that one. Some radios will be a HUUUGE game changer. We have a few threads on our forums that discuss suggested mods for the server as wellas some ideas for expanding on current limitations.
I can't say I'm sure where everyone's hate is coming from for hydrocraft. I guess folks are just inclined to side with the underdogs, but seriously check it out. I tried it on SP and was AMAZED with the extra things that add so many levels of realism.

Thanks for all the hard work guys! I've been going through a bit of a rough patch, personal issues and work related problems. My boss retired, no one to fill his position and I've had to take it all without even an ounce of compensation. Still the case, but now things are much more manageable.

I hope to be a little bit more active from time to than I have been lately here on TIS forums.

In two months of operation, we've accrued 275 members and 1,936 posts on our forums (that averages to more than 4 new members and 30 posts per day) - clearly some fraction significantly greater than 1% of our player-base uses the platform.

We desire and actively ask for our player-base to help us improve upon the community experience - this is why the community forums exist in the first place! We will not argue with you regarding the merits of your rudely-phrased opinions and hyperbolic arguments when the rest of the community is already having a civil discussion about the same topics elsewhere. If you don't want to use our forums, then don't, but your thoughts would have had a lot more weight in the designated section of the official, advertised Zeek's Haven community forums (where our players are actually already going to discuss the settings and systems of our forums and servers) rather than this meta-thread in the PZ Multiplayer Server List (where I feel people mostly come just to find reviews and general details of the server - and most of our members will never see it), never mind your profanity-strewn in-game assertions (which never actually influenced anyone).

Instead of sharing with us what you don't like about our "crappy forums" and how you think they might be improved, you've chosen to constantly denounce and insult them both in-game, and here. If you're not going to be heard where it matters and you're not willing to actually discuss your suggestions with others, why bother being vocal at all?

I think you're not interested in being constructive at all, but rather destructive. You've clearly made an effort to flaunt that you're subverting your ban (again). To do what - needlessly agitate us? You've spent a lot of time really driving home exactly how much you despise our server, our staff, and our community - yet you are evidently insistent on returning. As stated before - you can appeal your ban if you wish to return to Zeek's. However, we're nowhere so inclined welcome you back when you refuse to appeal, subvert your ban, and then post here to little more than troll and provoke us.

You are the only person I've heard actually complain about us having forums, for which you've never actually provided us any feedback whatsoever - all I've ever heard you say is that they're garbage. I have no idea why you're so ridiculously insistent that no one uses them, either.. really hard to say when you haven't logged in since May, I would think. If people choose not to use the forums, that is by all means their right, and we won't hold it against them - but since we are a public server, with forums offering public membership - there is no unfair advantage for any part of our player-base. The server is a part of the community, and the community is a part of the server - restricting yourself to the game or the forums alone is to only experience a fraction of what is Zeek's Haven. Choosing not to participate in the forums will prevent you from using some of our community's features like our currency, group forums, and polls and discussions. But in a game that's impossible to "win," I think it's hard to call any of these things an "unfair advantage" - and you will almost certainly still experience the full multiplayer Project Zomboid extravaganza as it's intended - but everyone is welcome to join the forums and enjoy and help us build and improve upon the features we are striving to enrich our server and community with. If you really think the forum members have an unfair advantage, spend two minutes registering an account on our forums - problem solved!

We wish we could change that so that even those who choose not to engage the forums could enjoy our economy, have access to all the static content and engage in large-scale discussions in a meaningful, lasting manner in-game, but it simply isn't possible - we're doing the best we can with what we have. In-game economies remain susceptible to hacker abuse as our server has witnessed, and live chat is not suited to share lore, guides, list the current server settings, link to map locations, provide full descriptions of events, share suggestions for and feedback on settings and systems, etc. etc. etc...

If you don't like the way the server operates and are unwilling to vie for change where it actually matters - the obvious solution is to stop interacting with the server. Despite constantly emphasizing it to be dirt, and asserting that it's populated and administered by people that you've made it abundantly clear that you despise, you keep coming back. You'd think if you enjoyed a server enough to keep sneaking past bans and regularly appearing to rudely make suggestions on how it functions that you could be bothered to show a little respect for the people who make it possible - but why start now, right?

If a restaurant consistently serves you a dish that you absolutely despise regardless of what you order, would you also refuse to talk to the manager and continue visiting the establishment just to spite yourself? Would you hang around the front door day after day to publicly slander the outlet and it's employees before walking in to place your order?
We're trying to offer you a service - free of charge, and largely malleable to fit our community's desires. Is it really necessary to spit in our face at every little turn?

    A Personal Note

Nothing more need be said. I hope you find a community you truly enjoy - because as far as anyone can tell, for the many tens of hours you've spent on our server (I'm thinking close to, if not greater than 100 hours) you haven't enjoyed a single minute of it.

    Goodbye, Suede.

Been on TIS forum since we moved to this new forum and I have only 50 posts. This is my third in this server thread. Also I was Wilson from the screenshot Rich posted above.

For about a week or more, IWBUMS allowing, Rich and his fellow admins have been assaulting us with very exciting challenges. Puzzle buildings full of traps and deadly wrong turns, protect the survivor/structure missions with insane zombies waves. Recently pitting us against what became a real time two and a half hour battle for survival. We pleaded server wide for help (we were doomed) and even got a few KOS bandits to help out. I was as shell shocked and wearied as my character. I don't think anyone who participated could say much negative about the experience (other than the perma death nature of PZ, the heartbreak of a good character dead). I only wish I had the software/know how to have made some video. The ingame narratives have been incredible.

If you are looking for a server, nothing against any other (played many and never had a truly bad experience), this place is a blast. And please participate in one of these events, for your sake. It is quite challenging and creates an original play through. Just be prepared to die many times in pursuit of victory and glory.

Zeek, Rich, Hobbes, Aniketos, Pot of Water, thank you for a great server. All the players, thank you for making these raids and events an awesome experience. All of you at Indie Stone, thank you for working tirelessly to create a game world I can have this much fun and variety in.

Now join up and help us win the next event!

Hi, I'd like to share my experiences on this popular server "Zeek's Haven".

I joined this server after playing only single-player for quite some time just to try it how multiplayer worked. At the very beginning, I was disappointed to find almost no zombies around in my start city (Mul), and it took me about 30 real minutes to find another player. I ended up running to West Point. In WP, I found other players and a more experienced player ended up taking a couple of us to her base...from that first trip (which was loads of fun, btw) I've had a pretty good time on the server over the last couple of weeks.

Here are my thoughts on different server aspects:

The Admins: They are very engaged, active, and generally friendly. It is easy to tell that they love the game and enjoy the prosperity of their server. I often get the 'drunk college boy' vibe from them ("I'm soooo drunk, haha" type stuff), but I have not seen a single instance of admin abuse, cheating, or even unfair treatment against a player or group of players...not even against the Russians, who have a relatively poor reputation on the server. I've never seen blatant disrespect or anything of that nature and the admins are quick to keep things game-friendly. The admins have a presence and keep busy on this server creating raids and interacting with players. I'm happy to give them 5 out of 5 stars.

Server Setup and Rules: Loot seems to be very abundant and easy to get. It respawns in large quantities every 2 in game hours (a few minutes) if the map chunk hasn't been seen. I don't like that very much. I can easily loot a few houses and return to loot the same houses on my way back and everything has spawned. Zombie population was very low (mostly due to an active playerbase), but with build 32, is very high and infinite.

This isn't an RP server--the owner (Zeek) does have a whitelist-only RP server, but I've had no luck getting through their whitelist application process in 8 days thus far. I like RP more, but this server is the one I've been able to play on. PvP is allowed and encouraged. I see people (usually newbies) getting multi-killed by vets and there is rampant kill on sight. That said, using reasonable caution and intermediate tactics, I have yet to be killed on the server except for a bug in an admin-created event. PvP is there, but it really only affects those that are unlucky, foolish, or new. If you want to avoid it using caution, it is fairly simple.

One player can have many characters, so it is easy to hide your identity/reputation and fill out multiple game roles by yourself.

A major downside to the server is that there is some clear money-grabbing going on in terms of donations. In game benefits for out of game funds. The strategy really helps the server costs, but it will also be a big negative in my mind. On the other hand, the benefits are not drastic and do not give players a noticeable unfair advantage vs each other. Mostly geared towards saving your base.

I give the server 3/5 for server rules and set up. Fun, but clearly geared for the action characters (at its heart it is not a survival/rp server!). Makes it a bit too easy to avoid reputation pitfalls for pure griefers and trolls. Donation system is controversial.

Players: Global. I had a Chilean, Japanese, French, and Italian with me (American) in the same group one night. I love this. Spanish is a common global language in the chat. Many Russians as well, but they typically stick to their own kind on the server. There are jerks, nice people, intelligent, and of course, mostly average game players. I personally find the admins a bit too lenient on the trolling, so there are some definite and persistant bad eggs (just check out this thread for example). So, I give the players 4/5...which is about as good as can be in a non-whitelisted, popular server on any game.

    Admins: 5/5
    Server setup/rules: 3/5
    Players: 4/5

    Final: 4/5.

This is likely the best server you'll find.

    [NEW STUFF]

    Zombie Respawning
The zombie-respawning system was rewritten.  This picture shows a part of West Point.  Each large rectangle is one cell (300x300 tiles).  The small rectangle is the loaded part of the map around the player.  Each red dot is one zombie.  The yellow dots are the "real" zombies in the loaded part of the map.  In the top-left corner of each cell you can see the number of zombies in that cell followed by the number of zombies there were when the game first started (the desired population).  The third number is how many hours before new zombies can spawn.

The sandbox option "Zombies Respawn Interval" controls how often zombies respawn.  Zombies will respawn only when the current population in a cell is lower than the desired population.  In mutiplayer, the HoursForZombiesRespawn server option is used instead.  In survival mode this is set to "Every Day".

The sandbox option "Zombies Respawn Percent" controls how many zombies respawn each interval.  This is the percent of the desired population that is added each interval.  In multiplayer, the ZombiesRespawnPercent server option is used instead.  In survival mode this is set to "10 percent".

Zombies won't respawn in loaded parts of the map.  This is to avoid zombies popping up in front of the player.  They also won't spawn in any part of the map that was loaded within the last hour of game time.

Zombies should never respawn in any buildings or fenced-off areas.  The game checks if there is a clear path from one randomly-chosen square on the edge of the world to the place it wants to place new zombies.  If a path can't be found, then no zombies will be spawned in that part of the map.
2 new professions: Electrician (can operate generators and create electronics device for traps) and Engineer (can create traps/explosive) Added generators:You can find them in shed/generator, you can then take them and drag them near a house. You need to be an electrician or found the recipe book to use them. Once placed near a house, it doesn't work with player made safehouse yet, right click and plug it. You can now add fuel in them and then turn them on. It now provide electricity to surrounding area. The generator will deplete fuel and condition slowly, a bad condition generator could start a fire or even explode, be sure to fix them with electronics scraps! Oh, it also does a lot of noise... Traps/Explosive:Molotov, flame trap, pipe bomb, noise maker, smoke bomb and aerosol bomb! After crafted them (need to be engineer, but you can find some books to learn the recipes) you can throw them or place them on the ground. Some electronics devices can be added to them: remote trigger, movement sensor or even timer! Added the tutorial, give it a try! It's the first step tutorial, it won't teach you all the mighty stuff you can do, but it'll provide a good base for new player as it teach movement, fighting, looting, eating/drinking... And use of context key! Random character creation and save your character creation! (mod from BlindCoder) Added 2 new challenges!Opening hours: The Mall is surrounded. Once upon a time, it was an important place in their lives. Instinct has led them to its doors. A memory of what they used to do...  You are alone, but not for long. At 9AM the Mall will be ready for business: doors will open, and the hordes will enter. Be ready for them. Winter is Coming: It's mid-July, but suddenly there's a chill on the breeze. In a mere three days' time a winter will set in like no other before it. You awake in an isolated location. You have meagre supplies, and the undead hordes might be slowed by the intense cold - but they are no less deadly. Wrap up warm, survivor... Claim safehouse in Multiplayer! Added StartYear and StartDay sandbox options. Added SaveWorldEveryMinutes server option. New server option = AllowDestructionBySledgehammer:true // If false, don't allow the use of the sledgehammer to destroy stuff. Dismantle electronics stuf to gather electronics scraps! Tooons of new items, more than 30! [bUGFIX]Don't create backups of client savefiles when the game's version changes. Fixed rain barrels collecting rainwater when inside. (Issue #001594) Fixed sheet rope sometimes going on the wrong side of the thumpable/window in multiplayer. (Issue #001569) Fix unkickable players in multiplayer. Client savefile names were changed to IP_port_username. (Issue #001626).  It used to be IP_username, so you may want to rename your multiplayer directories to include the server's port number, otherwise the game won't find your old player. Fixed the "device not closed" error message when exiting. (Issue #001630) Fixed "dirty" appearance to a clean bandage on male upper right leg. (Issue #001625) Fixed campfire items not cooking after loading. (Issue #001611) Fixed lightfooted/sneak XP being awarded to the wrong player in splitscreen multiplayer. (Issue #001644) Fixed zombie-grab slow-factor not being applied to the correct coop player in multiplayer. Recover from colds inside player-made buildings. (Issue #000958) Added "Remove Broken Glass" context menu command for broken windows. Don't show the combination padlock dialog until the player has finished moving next to the locked object. Blood splatter gets fainter and blacker over a 3-day period. New server option HoursForCorpseRemoval will delete corpses older than this many hours.  Player corpses aren't deleted. Fixed getting into locked containers exploit. (Issue #001649) Fixed beginner mode shut water/elec to 8 days Probably plenty of other stuff I forgot there. Okay, we have an economic system in place for the players outside of the server. We use bottle caps which can be gained by either participating normally on the forums or completing ingame events. It is currently a free system. The bottle caps from the forums can be in turn used to get favors in game such as full heal to a box of ammo and many other things.
We would like to monetize this system and still keep it free to make it as fair a possible. The money earned will go towards monthly upkeep and future upgrades or additional servers for the game.
What we would like to do is donate a certain percentage of the earnings to were it belongs.. You guys!
From your suggestion we could do this by buying more copies of the game and doing giveaways. Which, we could do via streams.
I was thinking that we could do 30% royalties to you guys. Would that be okay?
-sorry a pain to type this out on my phone. Ultimately, I want to support you guys. By having awesome friendly servers and getting this game as much advertisement as I can give it.
I want this to succeed more than anything.
