Now that fire is being improved, it would make sense to alert the player about the presence of smoke or fire in the surrounding areas.

Irl you would see a column of smoke from afar, whereas in game it is impossible due to the isometric perspective.

It would make sense to add some kind of visual cue to indicate that the character has seen faraway fires or smoke columns.

It would also be useful to have cues for sounds coming from afar, e.g.: gunshots, car engines, helicopters, explosions, all sounds that we would expect to be able to hear beyond the immediate range visible onscreen. This was also already suggested in the past.

I hope this suggestion makes some sense.

Nope. It's funnier if we don't do that. 😛 Lol I agree with you though.

You can already yoink car parts from cars but I'm purdy sure that every car has the exact same parts default to them. You can't get better car parts unless you get them from a mechanic's shop and install the parts yourself. It'd be nice to find cars with better parts in them but I've never come across any before.

Hmm Idk when I was able to play  found vehicles with some nice parts. I didn't know I could take them out though.

Not sure how many others agree with me, but wouldn't it make sense for warehouses to maybe have some car parts in them? You'd obviously lower the spawn rate dramatically but findin' parts every once in a while when you're scouring warehouses would not only make them more worth your time to check but also offer another way you could potentially find parts that are in high demand. You could even have some garages have car parts in 'em! That's just my two cents, any comments building on or criticizing the idea are more than welcome, they're encouraged!

Wouldn't just adding the ability to remove parts and put them in your car make more sense? I mean I had a situation where my car blew its engine and we were selling parts to a friend with a similar model vehicle and that just seems more logical t me than changing the entire spawning system. If you can funnel gas out of a car in the game I don't see why you shouldn't be able to remove parts from one vehicle and put it in another.

My idea is that when you have a pillow in your inventory, the character sleeps better, for example, when sleeping in a car with a pillow, you don't get neck pain.  Something like that. and rest faster as well(but not too fast), would be cool.

Let's just say when pillows do come into play, use them to make your wife comfy. She'll love it...

They had a very important use in the past. ;) I'm sure the devs will demonstrate when the full game releases. lol

It would be great if you were able to create 'family trees', say, via your saved characters index. Like, when creating a character, you could have the option of 'linking' that character to other created characters. The options might be: parent, child, sibling, friend.

BUT, there should be no guarantee that any given character is Alive at game start. And, if you encounter a zombified version of a friend or relative, your character should be affected by some serious long lasting and penalizing moodles (especially if they kill one of these 'familiar zombies').

Yeah I actually like this idea.

    things such as :

door frame carpentry lvl 2 door carpentry lvl 3? framing a door is more work than putting up a door.

also doors do not use nails

why can i get under the hood of a car but ''need key'' to remove the battery?

why am i using a screwdriver to take off the battery, when a wrench is needed?

I will tell you why sir... You want the truth? It's because the devs are game designers not mechanics. lmao

  8. Okay so this isn't me asking about survivors, just giving additional material for whenever they do release. And I know the devs will adore this idea.

So similar to the Rimworld idea where you can put in custom characters you want to see in game, except you can't really. You can just increase the chances of seeing certain NPCs. Well in this case you will build NPC's imagine kind of a backlog of characters you can play as so you can boot them up and play with them without remodeling them and all that, redoing the traits.
Now here's where it gets interesting. What if we pushed that one step further and say you're playing as Jim Jones, but you have Sally Davidson created as well and you want to see her in the game? Well you would have an option pop up and bam Sally Davidson is now nin your game. But lets take it even one step further again, what if you want her to be related to you or another NPC you put in the game? I feel like once NPC's are ready and fleshed out and all that good stuff to implement this. It would add a whole new dynamic to the game. Another layer if you will.

Side note: I know some of y'all will say this will make the game to easy and to that I say, not necessarily.  I mean you can abuse any feature. But if you want to balance your game, just create a balanced framework.

That will be all. Now time to sit back and be praised for what an amazing idea this is and how I make the all time best suggestions! Or ... You know get told it's a horrible idea and then go eat cake due to sadness. lol

1992.  (Two years before I was born so forgive if this was already a thing back then)

Young 'un I was born in 1992. Back in my day babies popped out with cigars and vodka. And we turned out all right. Well except for that uhh zombie apocalypse thing that happened a year after. A very small an irrelevant thing though. lol

now you technically be at a situation you have the cigarettes and no way to light them, even if you can start a campfire just fine or even have access to a vehicle and/or electicity.

This is realistic dude. As a smoker myself I can attest to this. I've been without a light (had all those things) on multiple occasions. lol

I never really used Desura much myself, it only serving as an alternative for Steam, but what I liked about them was early support for Linux before Steam and GOG had one, no fees and open source client. It seems that Itch.io took all these points now, so that's not bad, but I kinda miss my library there that I collected over time by bying all the bundles, and not all the games got carried over to Steam unfortunately (including some rare Linux ports from LinuxGamePublishing).

That sucks. I know the feeling. I had that issue when I left console for PC. Most of my favorite games I ended up having to sell like Gears and such. But some simply weren't even available on PC So I couldn't even rebuy them.

  12. So I got to looking at the the sandbox set up and noticed there was only urban and uniform. I promote other zombie spawning methods. Such as but not limited to "migration" where zombies spawn then migrate or migrate from edges of map. Or both. Or maybe an option where zombies spawn in particular locations. Basically just more spawner options. I would be excited to see that for sandbox games. Although, the migration spawn system might not work until NPC's are in for obvious reasons. Unless of course there's already a system where the game takes stocked up zombies and puts them in a location that lacks zombie activity.

If you count downloading the demo, then 2011-2012-ish. For actually buying the game, it was Sun, 27 Oct 2013 – RIP Desura :(.

Omg I hated Desura so much. I'm so glad PZ got on Steam. lol I loved that Demo though. PZ was, still is and probably always will be the most unique and intriguing zombie game I've eve had the pleasure to experience. Exactly what I always looked for ever since I was a kid. xD
