All fit too well into the  game to be noticed at first.

That's the key. It has to be referential humor that fits within Project Zomboid, rather than stands out above it.

Just a suggestion for more detailed character stats
 
Zombies killed (already added)
Time survived (already added)
 
But it would be nice to know some other simple things like:
 
Number of hours spent asleep
Distance traveled
Meals cooked
Houses cleared
Doors broken
Windows smashed
etc.
 
And for combat it would be awesome to know:
 
Number of bites
Number of scratches
Number of these things avoided (Thick Skinned)
Weapon specific kills, e.g. 3200 Baseball Bat, 500 Pistol, 1000 Shotgun
 
It could be implemented as a new tab in the Character info/skills/health module
