Serv
Right, so I've got around 100 hrs. on steam with this beautiful game, and that's just it, its beautiful.. it could be AWESOME. There are a few things the devs may what to consider, firstly, COMPOSTING, now this would be an end to the rotten food crisis, the OMG I've got 50 weight in this fridge of rotten food I cant use till I have lvl 3/4 cooking. This to me is counter productive. If we have the ability to make fertiliser from it, it would help players and prolong survivability through farming with a combination of carpentry (Compost Bin lvl 2) , it kind of made sense. Also.. LOCAL Hosting, DO I REALLY NEED TO MAKE MY OWN SERVER SO AS ME AND MY FRIENDS CAN WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE A STAND IN THIS APOCALIPSE? The ability to host my own server will allow me and my friends the chance to start vanilla, with the collective goal of surviving, a unit so to speak, Lastly, Sleeping at night. Now I feel if minecraft can make a sleep at night program so can PROJECT ZOMBOID. All it takes is for 1 peep to sleep then the question is asked to the others "DO U WANT TO SLEEP". the majority of people will. so as to save 10mins of there lives standing around in MP during the night, this would help the player. I will say this, I agree with the hard-core gamers in this game, and I applaud them, however I feel this are simple request that may or may not have been already incorporated. Thank your for taking the time to read this. Serv oO

Serv oO Sleeping in MP is not a a priority right now in the game, but they will get around it soon i guess, maybe when they have the animations and the medical overhaul. The fertilzaer has been suggested before, but right now i guess adding more things to make farming faster is not a good idea, lets wait to see how they balance farming first. And for local hosting i think you can use hamachi so your friend can join you as if it was some kind of lan net.
Zorak
Imo the 2-3 min blackscreen sleeping or nap for MP would be a good thing. You would have to find a safe place from time to time to sleep and 2-3 min of a break each hour is not a bad thing.

nasKo
What exactly do you mean with local hosting? That's already possible.
Viceroy
I think he means hosting a listen server.
Serv
Hey all, thanks for the Welcome Ewok, and yes just an extra button that allows me to create a local game with out having to use Hamachi, I'm not too tech savvy and the sound of opening random ports seems a little risky. I'll check out the Suggestions forum and if I think of anything else I'll be sure to add it there, Thanks.
Jakeoc2
I'm having trouble.I set up the server just fine and I can join it and play no problem but my brother can't.we're behind the same router and I've given him the Server IP (my IPv4 for ipconfig in dos)Heres where I'm at:Set up server exactly as in this guide (except for public=false)Joined serverGive brother the server IP and he can't join.We want to play LAN and I know I'm probably forgetting something glaringly simple/obvious the server also did not show up for him when I made it public=true. We are the same version.the port he used was and IP are the same as the ones I used.IP: 192.168.1.101Port: 16261I'm assuming its something to do with the network. Do you HAVE to use Hamachi? EnigmaGrey
Not enough info . . . do you see him attempting to connect to the server through its console? If you don't, well . . . something's either blocking the connection or the IP address is wrong (it looks right, though). Has been a while since I set up a local server -- will give it a go later, if someone doesn't come up with something soon.

Your brother needs to connect to your router IP www.whatsmyip.org and not your local IP. Also make sure you have port 16261 forwarded to your hosting PC. I had the same issue when playing with my wife!
EnigmaGrey
Mm, that wouldn't be local hosting, though. It'd certainly work, but your wife would be connecting to you outside your LAN.

Tomwa
As far as local hosting, I do it all the time (Well not ALL the time, but frequently) my router's default gateway is: 192.168.1.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 so all the IPs in the house look like 192.168.1.* (Where mine varies because my computer is dynamically configured well everyone's is static). So tests to try:1. Open dos and ping your brother's Private IP (The 192.168.1.* IP for his computer).2. Open dos on your brothers computer and ping your IP (The 192.168.1.101).3. If either of these fail, disable the firewall (Windows firewall is pretty straightforward, others can be more involved) and try again.4. If the firewall isn't the problem you may need to port forward on your router. Also are all of you connected via LAN (e.g. None of you are on a WAN like Wifi)? goldenpsp
omg people need to learn basic networking. If you are on the same LAN and you cannot connect to the other computer it is a simple issue of your computers built in firewall blocking the port 99% of the time. Bullwinkle
Be nice, goldenpsp. Some people who know amazing things might not know things that you consider to be elementary.
uberevan
Composting has already been suggested several times but that is because it is a good idea! Also, I know you're new here so it's okay but try to avoid titles that don't tell you what the post is about.(IE Don't say: Cool new addition, just a suggestion, this should be added, my idea, etc. Say things like Composting Ideas, LAN Connections?, Sleeping on Multiplayer, etc.)
