    Zeek turned whitelisting back off.

    So, there you go.

It doesn't really, snow a lot in Kentucky to warrant the effort of putting in blizzards. Maybe light snowfall but this isn't the North or something.

Simply put, it would be pretty neat to see more visual weather effects/ambience other than just rain and thunder. I think these would be great and I have complied a list below of the effects.

    Snow/Blizzard

Description: Basically what rain is, except it's white dots of snow falling to the ground. If the weather is more harsh, then a blizzard will occur which will have greater effects on the player.

Effects on Player: Same effects already put in when it snows, if a blizzard, the player will feels these effects even more.

Visual Effects: White dots of snow, if blizzard, more dense pieces of snow falling.

    Fog

Description: Fog is pretty much what might occur after a thunderstorm/rain, or randomly during the seasons/months.

Effects on Player: Reduced sight (Not as bad as night time, but perhaps 15-30% of that) and the chance of slight panic/anxious if your outside for too long.

Visual Effects: Transparent grey visual with a slow, creepy animation.

    Ambience

Description: Basically just more ambience to bring the place to life. Perhaps some trees could drop leaves and those said leaves could be seen blowing throughout the city. Some items such as Newspapers, Papers, various garbage, etc. should also blow in the wind. Would be nice to see some of the tall grass have an animation even if it's subtle of some weather occurring.

Let's hear some wind blowing if its thunder storming or if it's a bad storm, let's see more visuals of the wind blowing water on the roads (if it isn't too much, if so, its fine.)

Effects on Player: A more immersive experience.

    Visual Effects: Self-explanitory.

I believe little touches like this can really give a heartbeat to a beautiful game such as Project Zomboid.

    Tell me whatcha think!

I think it would be a nice addition to the game.

Just probably a low priority for developers - and possibly fog (and leaves from trees) would require some game engine tweaking.

PS. Maybe blizzards and thunderstorms should have some slim chance to damage constructions and player planted crops?

Hey all, thanks for the warm fuzzy first day as an Admin for Zeek's (or is it Zeke's? I can never be sure).
Unfortunately, I hit a bit of a technical snag but we're trying to work it out (could be a real bug), so check it out in the Server -> help wiki if you have any insights, that'd be great

Anywho, it was awesome to meet you all and I can't wait to get back in there and help out this wonderful server some more.  For anyone wondering I operate on the EST clock but I'm a bit of a Zomboidaholic despite my RL responsibilities (and yes Suede, a European based admin is something that Zac and Rich feel is important too).

I am pretty approachable and essentially I exist solely to alleviate some of the pressure and strain on Rich and Zac (I can do anything they can do better ), so if you have any questions, spiffos and/or various admin stuff that can be handled by anyone, by all means get at me if you can so we can all focus a little better on coming up with cool events for everyone.  Teamwork and Friendship!

Feel free to add me on steam community.com/id/ZombieHobbes or here on the ISF.  Cheers.

I love this idea and I'm surprised that no one has suggested this before. I mean, Zombie Cops have become quite common since RE3.

Which makes me think.... why aren't there Nightsticks in this game? They could do for a nice weapon, and maybe even a starter one for the Security Guard and Police Officer Jobs.

Also, I thought of two other jobs for zombies:

Chef/Burger Flipper: They'd carry kitchen utensils, matches or maybe even food. And they would wear and apron of some kind; maybe those uniforms employees from cheap dinners use. As for unique drops, maybe non-perishable food or luxury food. Those might not seem so unique, but over a year after the end, once power has failed and everything has spoiled, finding some beef jerky or a pickle could save your belly.

Janitor: They'd carry Mops or Brooms, as well as cleaning supplies like Bleach or a Bucket. They'd probably wear a blue uniform or jumpsuit for sorts. Not sure of what would do for their unique drops, maybe they could drop those thick rubber gloves most janitor use, but not sure of what bonus they could give you...

Yep, if you see a police officer, you will gain access or the probability of police officer related apparel + a chance of a police officer related item.

The game would become pretty impossible and unfun if moving backwards and looking around quickly were punished.
It's one thing to trip while your character is wasted. It's another to trip just because you back away from zombies (to fight or otherwise) or look around.

So is everyone else. The problem is, what you described there had nothing to do with anyone's judgement and everything to do with the RNG.

I don't think such a system will ever see the light of day. Even if it would be implemented as an option for server owners (to only let people with a Steam Account on it), Steam Family Sharing makes this too easy to bypass.
Never heard of something like this. Most likely for a good reason.

Maybe find a listing somewhere of common proxy IP ranges and just mass ban all of them pre-emptively. That's about the best you can do other than ban over and over, unfortunately.

Without the resources of a AAA publisher-backed game company, it's almost impossible to build an impenetrable "open" server. It's not that TIS doesn't want to prevent this kind of thing, it's that the manpower to do it would probably be pretty improbable given their timeframe and funding.

That being said, if they can incorporate Steam-account-based servers, and you could ban Steam accounts specifically, it would be a much better option. It's something we're looking into, but I can't comment on whether it's coming for sure or not.

There are ways to bypass the lua check (I won´t post them, because I´m a noob at it myself and don´t want to publish stuff that can be used to do this sort of crap).
If I remember correctly then a softreset should do the trick. Haven´t used it in a while, so I don´t know if this guide is still accurate.

If he is using a proxy that has only IPs from the same range (you can tell by the first 2-3 ip-blocks) then you can ban the IP-range. Although I doubt that his proxy uses only one IP-range.

We wanted to show you a new visual of the first planet, "Crystal", with some game elements.

The most observant among you will notice that the look of the emitters has been changed and that an element is missing ! We'll let you figure out which one

Actually, I'm still hesitating about making a lite version along with a paid one, or adding an in-app purchase to unlock the game for good. Personally I prefer the latter.
But whatever I'll choose, people who like the game will only have to pay once.

    Hi everyone,

I want to introduce you my first serious project, which is also my first serious video game, and my first game made with the framework LibGDX ! But whatever... ladies & gentlemen here's Shine !

General InformationsName : Shine Plateforms : Android & iOS Short description : Shine is a free puzzle game based on light and colors which is going to triturate your meninges ! A one-of-a-kind puzzle game that will take you for an unforgettable travel in space ! Progress : Alpha Estimated Time of Arrival : Q1 2015 But before going further, let me introduce myself.

    About me
    Who are you ?

My name is Mickael and I'm 23 years old. I passed my Higher National Diploma last year, and I just passed my last exam this year, in June. I discovered programming in August of 2011, just before starting my HND.

    Why a video game ?

Everything has started when I discovered libGDX. I played a bit with the framework itself, with Box2D, then with OpenGL, shaders etc. Gradually I started using tools related to video games, althought I was not attracted by this kind of programming at first.

Eventually, all this gave me the will to make a video game for mobile phones, a domain I was familiar with cause I had already published 2 Android applications at this time.

    Game's core concepts

In parallel with my studies, I thus tried to find an idea for a video game with an innovative concept. Because I wanted to be able to finish it, I wanted something that I could do without much difficulties with my current knowledge. So forget about 3D

So the idea was born of a 2D puzzle game containing 2 basic element types :Emitters : Elements that send light (represented by a ray going in one of the 4 directions) Receivers : Elements that need light for the level to be completed Each one of these elements has its own color. It means that a red emitter will send a red ray. Similarly, a blue receiver will need to receive a blue ray for the level to be completed.

Each level is displayed as a grid, with several elements dispatched on it. You can move emitters, but you can't turn them. Receivers can't be moved nor turned. All the elements needed to resolve the level are on the grid. You can't add any element by yourself.

But because images are way better than words, here's a nice infographic made by our awesome graphic designer that sums everything up

The game will contain 10 worlds, each one of them containing 30 levels with a growing difficulty. This means that, at the end, there'll be 300 levels, which is not bad

Throughout your progression in the game, new game concepts and new elements will be introduced to help you cope against the growing difficulty, so that you won't get bored

    The universe

Given the fact that the game is partially based on the operation of some "natural" phenomena (light propagation, color mixing...), I wanted graphic and sound environnements that would enhance these elements. As you would have probably guessed, I thought about something in space, like an interstellar travel.

Each of the 10 worlds would then be a planet. These planets could be made only of the natural elements that are familiar to us (crystals, volcanoes...) or mixed with some fictitious elements. Something very sci-fi actually

So here's what the 1st world will probably look like (no elements) !

Where it gets interesting for the player is that it means different graphics, sounds and musics for each world, in addition to the new elements. Thus an almost completely new experience each time !

I'm not looking to tell a story through this travel. The only goal being to offer a unique and rousing experience. Like if it could be a way to espace from the daily life, which is sometimes a bit monotonous.

    The team

We are currently 3 to work on the game on our free time :Flawyte : Developer Chak : Graphic Designer Benjamin : Sound Designer Progress

You can like us on Facebook if you want to be regularly informed about the progress.

The mechanics part is now done, and a few people occasionally play the game to spot bugs and give us feedback. I "only" have to reproduce what the graphics designer has drawed (elements, environnements...) in the game once we're almost sure it won't changed further. We haven't planned to take addional testers for the moment, but if you're interested in being part of the adventure feel free to get in touch

Apart from all the progress of the game itself, we will definitely need translators once closer to the release date. So if you speak a foreign language (other than french), feel free to send me a message ! Every person that will have been involved in the game's making will be thanked in the game's credits

Let me know if you have remarks, suggestions, questions or whatever else !

    Updates12/22/2014 : Planet 1 'Crystal' with some elements 01/03/2015 : Title music (30 sec) 01/12/2015 : iOS version 03/21/2015 : Planet/Level selection v14.12.15

Do you have "DoLuaChecksum" set to true? That´s the only "protection" I know of.

Reboot = Hard reset, so you would loose everything on the map.
Is this guy/girl using a proxy or always IP from the same range? If it´s the same range everytime you could ban the whole range with iptables/firewall.
