  1. Welcome! I've not put any thought into vehicles, as they aren't something I would use myself in game, but I do like some of your points. The shooting from a vehicle would be ok, as long as aiming penalties are introduced when moving at high speeds. I also like the idea of a wide variety of vehicles, with different loot in the trunks, so you find first aid kits in ambulances etc. Also I like your NPC related traits, would be nice to have variety and just be a member of a community rather than a leader. Hopefully with the neutral survivors we get traders who set up in random buildings for a few in game days, then move on.

    Tent Rework

    Yeah, I would like if the tent was very flimsy, and would havefer no protection. Maybe something like a few hits and it collapses, just giving you enough time to wake up as a hand reaches out for your foot! But I do agree on your point of no protection Wratts. I wasn't sure if it would be possible to make it a building, unless maybe a crafting option which requires the player to use the tent kit, and place it, similar to how you place crates etc. Then it could be a three walled structure you place. I only thought of it being a structure as it could support up to two people standing in it, similar to a two man tent in real life (obviously not standing upright, but you get my drift.) As I said it may not be possible, but hopefully we can find a way to implement it by discussing it.

  4. Of course, I prefer to team up, but it just seems like a really easy way to be trolled. If they made it so when you built the structure, the tree was claimed, say like a safehouse, that would be neat, as long as the zombies could break it down with enough effort, so it wouldn't be too OP.
  5. I can see it now, someone spends all that time crafting a perfect tree house, just for someone to chop it down with an axe. TIMBER!!!!!!
  6. Just a thought that's been kicking around for a while. Is there any way to change the tent kit? At the moment you can only sleep in it on single player, and in multiplayer it servers no purpose. I'm not sure how hard it could be to change, but is there a way to make the tent a one or two block wide shelter when you set it up? Like a very very small room with weak walls and weak zip door. This would at least enable you to use it for cover from the rain on multiplayer, and would not provide too much protection from zombies as to be overpowered. Would also be able to update it to involve the fatigue system and you could rest in there too. Obviously it's not a high priority, but just thought I'd mention it.
  7. I destroy the stairs in a premade building as that's what I would do IRL (not like this situation would ever happen0, but if a server has rules against it, I won't bother. I'd rather stick to their rules and keep playing.

  9. I hear this is a great server for RP, most servers don't seem to stick to that rule so I will apply on the forums now, hope to see you all in game soon!
  10. It's not a problem, servers are tricky things, I wouldn't know where to begin! xD Edit : Tried to rejoin server, but it's now making me restart my character, anyone else having this problem? Managed to find my crash recovery files, character is back
  11. I think the bleach option is fine, wanna die? Do it that way. However, I do like the idea of dependency if you get addicted to painkillers, anti'ds etc. I take antidepressants, and while I wouldn't say I'm addicted, I can feel slightly ill if I don't take them, so obviously in higher doses this would happen. Also, sorry to bring up the elephant in the room, but will NPCs be able to kill themselves? Would be annoying to return with a bag full of much needed food to find your colony has topped themselves!
  12. I picked park ranger for the one point of carpentry, and with skill books, I have no problems levelling carpentry. Maybe I got lucky with a bug, but it takes a while and is manageable. On a side note, if carpentry is a problem, make a character with all carp traits, fast learner etc. Then grind and build your base, shouldn't take long at all as you can potentially start at level 4. Then when base is built kill yourself and make your main character and use the same base. I delete my save if I Die, but this may help those with limited time options.
  13. I usually grow three crops, Cabbage, Potatoes, and Broccoli. These can't be overwatered so you can just let the rain keep topping the water up. The cabbages grow first, followed by potatoes then broccoli. Replanting when harvesting means you will have a source of fresh food very frequently. Tomatoes are also a good outdoor crop. Indoor farming requires more effort, as you aim to keep the water levels at the right amount to keep the crop healthy, as overwatering can kill your crop. I use a spare room in the house, or craft a shelter for indoor farming. Tainted water is fine for your crops, it is just rain after all. As mentioned try to space out crops to stop disease spreading between crops. I find lamps on pillars helpful for nighttime farming, and you can always preserve what food is left by jarring it up. An empty jar, a lid, some sugar, vinegar and water is what you need to store 5 of one crop (3 cabbages, so try to preserve other crops first). Then cook the jar of crops in a campfire/oven to seal the jar and preserve the food. Not sure how long it lasts, as on MP our group is big, so we haven't left the food long enough to go off! Sorry for the mammoth post!
  14. I haven't chose fast learner yet, but I think it should be left as is. Not everyone has a lot of spare time for gaming, and this trait would help those with a limited timespan. I don't take it as I enjoy the grind at times, and I can pick traits for the skills I do want to level. Each person plays their game different, so I dont mind.
  15. Our base is coming on sweet, when its done I'll upload screenshots. (not until we leave the base, wouldn't want to give our position away!)
  16. I'd assume it's fine, as rain is fine, so collected rain should be no different. Would be nice to add bleach or something to people's water barrels to sabotage their farming efforts. Kill off the crops they so desperatly need.
  17. Hey bud quick question, what are the infection settings at the moment? It seems that the infection rate is 100% even from a scratch. Just checking as a few people have picked the Doctor Profession and they cant get a chance to use their skills!
  18. Loving this build, the new traits and professions have made for interesting conversations! Will dig in properly tomorrow. Quick question, has the drop rate for jars and lids increased? Seems to be hard to find them, but not impossible, which is good.

  20. Not used the mod for a while, but has anyone tried Bedford Falls areas for jars or lids? Just thought there may be a building there with a good amount of them if someone had it installed.
  21. I have long wanted a rest function on a pitched tent for shelter from the rain, would make long trips more manageable. Now we have a foraging and a trapping skill, maybe we could craft a rudimentary shelter out of foraged items. That and a campfire should keep you warm.
