New Dawn is the longest running role play server here for Project Zomboid. 
We aim to bring an atmosphere of quality role play and push heavily for in depth character creation as well as heavy immersion in the server. 
With the admins, players of Project Zomboid, and our development team we have created tons of features that you will be taken care of as a player on our server.

Server Lore

As an addition to our server, we've got a server lore to enhance the role play experience.
Ever want to know what it would feel like to experience the apocalypse before and after it started?

Here's a run down of how it works.

We will start this lore in Cloverport, Kentucky; 2010. Players will live their lives as normal people do, there is no apocalypse when we start.
The story line will slowly guide us in the outbreak stages eventually.
This means players can apply for any occupation the real world has too. This ranges from teachers, carpenters, veterinarians, call center employees and others.

Applications are open!

At this time we have opened up our application process for the new lore and admins will be prepping them and getting people to the point of a new standard of approval on the server.
The applications have gotten tougher. We are also changing the whole group application system a bit, there is now a separate application form for this.
There will be no purely evil people accepted. More on that is on the New Dawn website.

I would be down for some PZ themed hoodies to support the game more.

I put in my application on Saturday, got accepted late that evening (around 5 hours later) and have been on the server since. It's great for heavy roleplaying, something I am still getting used to myself, it's pretty intense at times. The teamspeak always has some people on it ready for a chat towards the afternoon. 

I would love for more Europeans to apply to this server, as I am pretty much alone my morning, but it gives me a chance to just fuck about and run around I suppose.
(in case you're worried about ping; it's about 100 for me unless there's 30 people on, it can spike to about 130, but it's doable)

It may seem a bit much at first (application is quite long), but it will definitely be worth it, I can already tell. The pre-stage is exciting already and I am curious to see what Z-day is going to bring.

Thanks for the review: many of the aspects you've touched on (such as an empty world), are planned to be developed or are actively being developed at this time. As you know, Project Zomboid is a work in progress.
Dying is part of the fun, though.

Allot of people made me change my mind, really appreciate the support.
 
Anyway, (re)starting the server this afternoon. We got some basic stuff now and we can build on that until the DEVs release their own magic, "soonish"

Have you tried pressing P?
Press P when you're in the server and see if it goes on... (green axes in the corner turn red)
Or click on them... works as well.
 

It's client side. People can choose if they have it on or not when it's enabled on the server.

Red = PvP is on
Green = PvP is off

I want to thank you for the work you have put in this server, for trying to make it different, for trying your best to put new maps and things with it. Unfortunately, the game wouldn't allow you to do the things you wanted at this point all the time.
I have gained in you a friend and I am thankful that you trusted me as an admin and played the part with great joy.

It's a shame that people will always find the need to fuck things up and ruin a perfectly good game and/or server by doing the things they do. It might sound paranoid, but the amount of zombies (dead or alive) and specific carpentry items me & Alice just found is just unrealistic to be legitimate.

Yes... unfortunately I do... which is why we stopped doing it for a while due to instability of the builds... but I couldn't resist anymore. I missed our compound and a place for people to come together without worries.

Farming, rain, fire and blood tiles are back ! (again... woops) Fixed the "put in bowl" option not working for pot of soup. Fixed the orange fishing tackle not working. Fixed some crash in MP due to user name. Changed the SVNRevision number (so client connecting with an older version won't crash your server). [NEW]
Mash has changed the farming tile, they're now even more awesome ! for Mash !

In the meantime... I have made a visitor area on the admin base.

If you are in need of a safe place, or just want to randomly stop by, look no further. We have our very own visitor apartments/cabins with luxurious kitchen. Sleeping arrangements and a private garden are also included in the apartments. Are you more of a community person? Not to worry! We also have a communal garden and courtyard to meet up with friends.

If you want to drop by, you are more than welcome. Please keep in mind however, that your PvP must be turned OFF within the walls of the compound. If you fail to do this, destroy the admin base or steal from other players or us, you will be punished. And trust me, Nero would be more than happy to punish you. He is very creative. This also applies if you walk in with your PvP on.


(Seriously though guys... don't destroy anything... There is a line to the whole pvp experience and destroying other people's base is just lame. I have worked very hard on this base)
