  1. Hello and welcome to the Forum. Please let me remind you to read the sticky threads and the "how to write a good suggestion thread" before posting and using the search function!
  2. though it wasn't focused entirely on the propane gas i think there would have been enough space to elaborate it in the named thread
  3. Because crowbars aren't actually meant to be used as a blunt-force object =D Believe it or not, they aren't all that hard to bend or break (not that it's particularly easy, but ya, it happens). I actually suggested a while back that each weapon start with a slightly randomized durability since it would be more realistic. The range could be, for instance, +/- 20% of what the normal starting range is now. Thus, for each one you find under, you might also find one over, leading to an over all balance and some more variation. that they aren't meant to be used as blunt forced wearpon may be the reason why they actually would be arkward to wield (like mentioned in one or the other thread) but for the durability i would have to say, you could probably bash in zombie heads for years without a crowbar breaking. They are solid steel rods (if they are cheap) and probably more often made of chrome vanadium or something similar, more durable. They are meant to pry things open so bashing in heads would be more of a kindergarten task to a crowbar. even with a regular steel rod you could probably bash in heads for weeks befor it really starts to wear off...not talking about the amount of skulls it would need to break it in half. if it would even break.
  4. There is. question number 2:doens't this make this topic obsolete? It does... hurrrraaaay \o/
  5. tbh it was probably my fault at post #2 i know....everyone knows....and everyone is going to blame you ^^
  6. sooooo...basically the whole thread went offroad in 6 posts right? ^^
  7. don't give chicken bones to dogs, it's not healthy to them
  8. Errrm.... I hope thats not a no to the post. It WOULD be realistic. I guess.... it's mostly a no for the official Zomboid. And like said, probably would have to be made a mod instead
  9. nobody forces you to remove the body, but in future, if you want to bath in nostalgia you should get proper protection onto yourself
  10. so simple yet so good

ì consider this more of a kind of basic stuff as soon as npcs are in the game.
  12. There is. question number 2: doens't this make this topic obsolete?
  13. According to one of the last monoids, that's something, that is been worked on
  14. Unfortunately i'm only visiting with my mobile right now. Otherwise i could link you to at least 2 threads where this was already discussed.
  15. maybe i just confused the "rolled on every character creation" part. Cause "rolled" implies the factor of randomness to me. i like your ide but you'd have to be able to set the mindset of your character while creation to avoid your character to force you into a playstyle you don't want. i.e. if i'm totally conviced that avoidance and would be my only way to survive. i should be able to set my characters mindset to that so that he won't get depressed from beeing alone but maybe even feel safe while he's alone. And he'd need a relative long time with someone he likes and trust to feel safe around or with him then. though GoldenBullet's post sounds like he would like to put a "finished" sticker on PZ an we're done (no offensive meaning here) he's kind of right that the system is a little complex. On the other hand, we don't really know if the devs don't even plan to make "mental health" a really vital and complex part of the game, wich would mean that your system might fit and every mental state has to have a similar complexity. wich woulnd't be bad since mental health is complex. But then other systems (i.e. the whole medical system) should reach a similar complexity level....wich makes you question if the whole game wouldn't get to complex and to much micromanagment. BUT...your whole system would basically apply as a basis for every mental state depending wich schema is in what exact state...cause if not depressed you have to be in another mental state. small example for my avoidance character: His only friend died, he got robbed several times in the past weeks and, since he beleives in avoidance, he lives isolated. Schemas: Loss: the loss on it's own would in that case be enough for a (mild) depression since it took so long to build trust. Abuse: The constant abuse of robbery add in to the loss Isolation: On it's own wouldn't lead to depression since his mindset of avoidance would play against it but would maybe give a constant malus on mental health Insanity! of course this needs to be fleshed out more. you'd have to have w whole new window in character creation, similar to the traits, dealing only with mindset and mental status
  16. Pretty much of this thread is basically a compilation of comfirmed no. I can imagine, having fun with the main idea. Because it's pretty much like jagged alliance with zombies in realtime ^^. But nukes, cure, starting during the outbreak and evacuation are all confirmed no.
  17. You've read the whole thread, did you? Cause if you did you would have recognized that we're mostly talking about self made makeshift ghillie suits
  18. Cause if the Rathlord would develop a game, it would never get finished...to much knowledge for one poor little game propably something like "Receiver"...but with 100% bullet physics....and thermodynamics...and quantum science...and time travel wich would be mathematical fully adequate...and stuff.....don't you forget about the stuff!!!
  19. I guess here you'll find more thoughts about the hearing penalty. i don't really like this idea anymore since it was discussed fully in that thread
  20. i guess what most people mean is, "the character autonomously going to the bathroom and drink a bottle of bleach" is to much "control taken out of the player's hand". Mental health should be something to worry about as soon as it's implemented, thats right. But the consequences shouldn't be, that you character does something automatically. The way i described would be more elegant and, by the way, pretty realistic. You can get so depressed that you have to be force fed in a hospital.
  21. I shot small caliber, so the basics of shooting and aiming aren't unknown to me (don't ask me for the size, it's been 14 years ago...whatever is considered small caliber in germany ^^) 5 seconds are pretty long if you have zombies are coming for you ^^
  22. Even though i like the idea. Does anyone really know how far the Devs want to push the Iso-Evolution? As far as i have read most parts of the Game still stay 2D (don't know why) Don't know if this applies to doors though.
  23. that's because they are meant to conceal you, not to look super fly and putting a human into a bush just looks silly...that's how nature works ^^
  24. For an inexperienced shooter, taking an extra second or two to try and steady your aim will certainly increase your accuracy. No one can just whip their piece out and shoot a zed in the face without first taking a second or two to line up the shot and try to steady their grip. Only the absolute best of marksmen can pull out quick shots like that and that's because of the skill acquired from sending thousands of bullets worth of training. So I should think that this "charging period" would need three phases. The first phase is taking the stance, the second phase is lining up the shot, and the third phase is steadying their grip. Say around five seconds for all of that together for an average shooter. More for someone inexperienced and less for someone with a good deal of skill. Any amount of time after that would probably just be a waste. If you need to pull off a quick shot to try and hit an active threat like a human shooting at you, you might be able to score a crippling hit just be aiming and flinging several shots at them in rapid succession, but you'd be less likely to score a killing blow and more likely just buy yourself enough time to hightail it. though five seconds sound a little long (no i never shot a gun) the whole "phase thing" sounds pretty realistic. (maybe there would be a "Harcore" setting for Handling right next to the Reloading option). What about following shots? i mean you are already in the right stance, so wouldn't phase one fall away in this case? and like said, 5 seconds sounds a little long for an "average person". As i read 5 seconds i instantly thought about "people that never saw a gun...not even in movies" ^^ leveling the right skills should make you able to take the "quick shots" and shoot more accurate while moving i think just my 2 cents
