  1. So if your starving and foraging trying to get some berries or looking for bait to put on a fishing rod, what would posses you to stop pick up some rocks, a few sticks and a log??

I was thinking maybe we should be able to "blacklist" different categories of items for when we forage, maybe by splitting it into 4 groups Kindling, Rocks, Food, Bait.

Kindling could be twigs, sticks, and logs

Food are berries, mushrooms, and flora

    Bait are bugs

    Stones are hopefully obvious.

maybe a Misc. for anything added later on not included in those groups

How I thought it could work is if you blacklist a group and you go foraging, then if you would've normally picked up an item from that group it gets re-rolled and if the new item is from a group you haven't blacklisted you get it and if its not then you don't get anything.

I feel this could represent us actively looking for specific materials and not stopping to pickup anything remotely useful.

I like the concept of a balanced diet, but I feel the current system is overly complicated. To me, pz should be about an average joe, with beneficial, specialized knowledge gained through occupations. Average joes don't really count carbs, rather we know we need meats and veggies (with exceptions of course). So i think simple red and green meters symbolizing (loosely) meat and veggies, with a "sweet spot" in the middle. Then certain foods can fill up a particular meter or a little of both while actions drain them, and going above or below the sweet spot leading to weight changes. It would simplify a lot and lead to , "oh i need more veggies." instead of "wtf is a lipid?"

I agree that the average joe prolly wouldn't count carbs, but that where the nutritionist trait comes in to separate people who want to play as someone who does and who doesn't. Ill be honest I've never gotten to the point I've been worried about the new system, It does appear complex at first look but its surprisingly nonimpactful on my gameplay if i mostly ignore it beyond the first month or so while I try to get my weight up from the "very underweight" tallent. I might get more from the system if i do calculate carbs/lipids/calories but I certainly don't feel penalized if i don't.

  3. For twigs and branches I would love to see a "add fuel" option for more than one at a time(x5,x10,all), would help make twigs more usable. maybe we can hope for more uses for stones in the future and compost bins for rotten food. I don't agree with a general "destroy/burn" button though, like others have said you could pack zeds full of trash and move them somewhere, or just make a "trash area" somewhere a little ways from your base and build a few crates to pack stuff into

  5. i would imagine perfume would help hid you rather than attract zombies, they're looking for people and perfume would mask your sweat and blood smell that(i think) they would be attracted too.

That aside the profession doesn't sound terrible might be a cool stealth/support hybrid

I mean I guess you could squeeze one bottle into another, but you'd lose some of it in the process.

well your also going to lose some of it just through normal use, we can prolly assume the -____ left is how much left until a normal person would be done with it or consider it empty, not necessarily  when all the ketchup is completely gone.

so being able to save the overall carried weight when moving and making stuff (cooking/preparing food items) helps with the process which is why I'm suggesting it.

this, its less important for ketchup and mayo but I don't want to be penalized 10 units of weight for looting two gas cans that are ----____ full when really we should be able to reduce that my merging them(which isn't nearly as messy as ketchup to do either)

Well, I think you should walk faster than zombies. The sheer amount of distance I can cover in an ingame hour by RUNNING is a bit much. I think sprinting should be less about maintaining such a high speed and more short bursts of increased speed based on sprinting.

you actually do lose speed if you constantly run without any stops, though it might be less apparent at higher levels

Uh.... Perhaps if one had a tool to do so such as: http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/image/wasserstrom/344200?defaultImage=noimage_wasserstrom&wid=227&hei=227&fmt=jpg

Otherwise this would take a long time (even with the tool it takes a long time) to do. This may be okay for salt/pepper because of how they pour though.

not necessarily, if you were aiming to get 100% every last bit maybe, but give me a spoon and a jar of mayo and I can certainly get most of it out and into another container. Moreover though i cant think of any reason that we should have to carry 6 bottles of ketchup if you can fit it all into only 2 bottles

(would be even more epic with concrete foundations).

I like most of what you said but I would shy away from use of concrete for hope of adding in masonry in the future

    my thoughts on the furnace

A stone furnace might not be the smartest thing to build but it is the most obvious/simple one , a neat idea though might be having different furnaces you could build if you take a metalworker talent or profession. Also having multiple approaches to the furnace could in a way facilitate cross class interaction. stone furnace could be forage/metalworking, a more makeshift variant could be pure metalworking(or carpentry/metalworking), or if they implement a "metalworking building" then you get electrical/metalworking (post power-out)

  10. I usually go with firefighter as my profession for the 1+ to strength, fitness and sprinting but no extra points.

    for good traits

Strong - With the +1 from profession this maxes your strength out, 20 carry weight and you hit hard

Athletic - Again with the +1 from profession this maxes your fitness allowing you to run/chop trees/forage/fight longer without tiring

Fast Learner - Really needed since this build lacks innate bonuses to most skills

Organized - Lets you carry 2 4 log bundles in the large hiking backpack, and helps general scavenging.

Runner - Helps you level your sprinting skill and faster gathering early on

Lucky - Always take it, better loot spawns might save you more time than anything else, I've searched all of west point killed hundreds of zeds and I just wanted a sledgehammer.......... but no

    for negative traits

High thirst - While the water is on this isn't an issue just carry 2-3 water bottles and refill as needed, though you may want to build near water until your able to make a rain collector if it goes out really early.

Slow healer - Like you said just be careful building.

Thin-skinned - With your speed and strength you should be able to avoid being hit in the open, just be careful exploring inside.

Claustrophobic - Really annoying early on as you will constantly hear you heart racing while your searching houses, I like this since i like to make my own bases in-between towns and not considered inside.

Conspicuous - I'd rather not loot until most zeds are dead and I typically setup my main base outside town

Prone to illness - Cook your food, don't get soaked 4 points easy

Homophobic - only a slight panic when doing on yourself, as for the inability to preform it on others is debatable, in SP its easy points.

Weak stomach - Cook your food, don't eat rotten stuff, yadda yadda free points

Clumsy - same reason as Conspicuous

Slow reader - Time lapse in SP

no innate bonuses to anything except sprinting, but with max fitness you can level skills pretty fast, just make sure you get books to help out. Max strength lets you fight easy and loot a lot, I typically use a knife early so that I can use a extra bag in my secondary slot.

Context menu not showing after press "RShift" + "S"

I've deleted all "SYN..." files into "...Zomboid\Lua" and still happens.

    function: SYNSetting.lua -- file: SYNSetting.lua line # 227

I'm having the same issue, pressed "RShift" + "S" and got no option for settings in the right click menu

great mod though really have been enjoying it.
