  1. Looking at a light source can ruin your night vision IRL though so I think it should do the same in PZ.
  2. Controlled substances or no, I think they devs have stated that they want there to be consequences for extended drug use before all is said and done. Dependence, tolerance, and addiction may be things we will see in the future attached to items like alcohol, cigarettes, anti-depressants, sleeping pills, painkillers, and beta blockers.
  3. Er, my bad. I meant to say .380, not .308.
  4. Maybe it's something they added to simulate NPCs wandering about and doing what they do before actually adding NPCs? I dunno. Seems like an awful lot of coding to do for a placeholder.
  5. One time I opened up a tiny, tiny little closet. One tile large. And suddenly FOUR zombies lunged out of the door at me. I bolted out of that house like it was on fire. I easily dealt with all four of them once they followed me out into the open but damn that was scary in that little hallway.
  6. Have NPCs been implemented in build 23 or something?
  7. On the other side of the coin one time I was at a fishing pier in Fernandina Beach with a bunch of my relatives and my cousin has a concealed carry permit. Carries a lil' .308 pistol. I made the mistake of asking my redneck cousin one night whilst night fishing on the pier "How loud is that thing?" to which he responded with "I'll show ya!" and pulled out his gun and fired it right next to me into the water. The bang was enough to noticeably impair my hearing for several minutes. That was a rather small caliber round and it was fired in the open. Can't get much more open than a pier over the ocean.
  8. There's one problem. Bruce Lee is too cool to wear a shirt. Should have taken off that vest, bro.
  9. More like "Why not flee the planet". Apocalypse after all wouldnt it be simpler to just add booze and liquor in the game and flee reality with alchool .? The game already has Whiskey in it.
  10. I wouldn't mind seeing a suppressor for the pistol as a rarity in the game but it would need to be very rare and it would need to have durability. I also wouldn't like to see this in the game without the addition of sub-sonic ammo. From what I understand subsonic ammo is actually a little more common than you might think because many people market it as "low recoil" ammo. At any rate, of TIS wants to take the time to add ammunition types to the game then fine, but something tells me they've got bigger fish to fry and this probably won't make their to-do list.
  11. Just died on my longest lived character since the updates that changed the graphics. Back when the graphics were different and it was a completely different map, the game was much easier and I had characters that had survived long enough to loot the town clean and run out of food since there was no farming system back then. But since the update that gave us a new map and made everything harder I have been having trouble surviving. Today I died on a character that survived 1 month, 8 days, 1 hour before receiving an unfortunate scratch that infected him with the zombie plague.
  12. Taken from this old post http://theindiestone.com/forums/index.php/topic/2592-butter-knife-a-bit-op/?hl=knife Hah. I actually started that old thread a long time ago if you look. But I never saw Lemmy's response. Good enough for me then. Please disregard my suggestion.
  13. I realize this is probably very low on the priority list, but it bugs me so I am going to make a suggestion about it. You know that under-the-chin stab you can do with kitchen knives and butter knives? Well I don't like it. Mostly because we're going with Romero style zombies, right? So can someone explain to me how I just managed to destroy that zombie's brain by going in under the chin? The only way I see to get to a zombie's brain without having to stab directly through the skull would be through the eye socket. So could we maybe make that stab look like it's going in the eye socket instead of the chin? I know it's purely cosmetic and TIS has much bigger fish to fry first but it's something I would really like to see eventually.
  14. Hell, I'm worried I'm gonna die even before I step out the front door.
  15. So I've been playing around with kitchen knives lately, and I have to say that I love the way they operate. The only problem with the kitchen knife is how low its durability is. Like five zombies and the thing is broken. So I would like to suggest a new type of knife that has the same stats and function as the kitchen knife, but with higher durability. You could call it a Military Knife, a Survival Knife, or a Hunting Knife. Any of those nomenclatures will do. I myself have a knife of this type IRL that I bought at the local army/navy surplus store and let me just say that the thing is definately sturdier than a kitchen knife. Obviously it would need to be a bit of a rare find. Just an idea for those of us that like our knives.
  16. Don't dis my golf clubs, boy. They've gotten me out of a tight spot more than once.
  17. Yeah, I'm doing the same. Only problem is every once in a while a horde will wander by and decide that the door just doesn't need to be there anymore and bust it down, even if it's standing wide open. So it's a flawed indicator.
  18. Hello everyone. I've read through the common suggestions list and performed a quick search and found nothing related to my suggestion, so here I go. First thing I would like to get out of the way is eggs. Currently they can only be used as a soup ingredient or eaten raw at the risk of getting sick from eating raw food. Here is the situation I find myself in: I have three eggs, a working stove, a frying pan, and countless pots of water stashed about my house. Why is my only option for these eggs to eat them raw and make myself sick or just let them go bad? Why can I not boil them, or fry them, or scramble them, since I have all the things required to do any or all of the three? I think we should be able to cook eggs by themselves. Now onto the suggestion that I would like to see even more than eggs. I would like to be able to mark houses that I have already looted with something simple like an X painted on the front of the house. Ideally I would like a can of spraypaint for this purpose, but the current paintbursh and can of paint system could work for it too. I just want to be able to mark buildings that I have already been through instead of having to try and rely on my memory on what has and has not been looted.
