I think there's certainly room in PZ for humor, but I'm not sure referencing outside sources is the way to do it. The penultimate struggle of horror games, and survival horror in particular is to never break immersion. By calling humor from other games, movies, etc. you remind the player that they are indeed playing a game, which directly detracts from immersion.
I'm not saying it couldn't be clever or funny , but I don't think this game is the right game for that flavor of humor.

I made these for my own mod posters and decided to share it with others in case they want to make a mod poster similar to mine.

My Mod Poster I made for my Carbonized Swedish Fork Knife Mod. (to show as example)

To make a mod poster, just make out the "notes" to fit your mod, resize as needed and copy/paste them onto the corkboard. The finished corkboard png (650x810) is your mod poster .

I kinda agree with this, it seems that wherever you are zombies just begin to eventually spawn. I could be wrong but the meta game events seem spread around the player, which causes any meta game event to draw zombies into your area.

If you go to the western farm, and stay there minding your own business, farming crops and building walls, then the odds of a large horde arriving should be minimal. It could have course happen. But it should be rare. Right now it seems that wherever you settle, a big horde will arrive on your doorstep in a few days.

The spawning is also a little off. I even had a zombie spawn inside my fence once, I was gardning with my back turned to a blind fence that surrounded a very small and uncluttered area, then suddenly a zombie appeared behind me. Even Ezio Auditore could not have repeated that feat. Great way to keep me on my toes. But not as realistic as I'd hope. If a zombie is inside my walls, I expect the barrier to be broken.

What the hell did you guys do to the music? It's all happy and upbeat.

EDIT: Wait, never mind. I forgot I enabled the example mod. Sorry, my fault

Maybe the one we have in-game is a gas reloading shotgun?
In all seriousness, though, I like this and it should certainly go in I think.

I am 100% in favour of this. Would be annoying to get use to (as you said takes getting use to), but overall I can see the challenge and quality in it.

Banjo got a reaction from syfy in Pump shotguns pump
I suggested this on the old forums but wanted to repeat it here...

Way back when the pistol and reloading mechanism was a mod, not part of the vanilla game, the "hardcore" reloading style was the only one available. Although realistic, it was rather buggy and definitely not user-friendly, and I definitely support making the "style" of reloading an option in PZ's settings rather than forcing one set style (easy, normal, hardcore) on the player.

However, the old mod version of reloading had something that I don't think was included when it was incorporated into the vanilla game version: shotguns had to be "pumped" between shots.

If you hadn't tried it, it sounds dreadful and annoying, right? But I recall that once I got used to it, it was such a visceral, cool-feeling concept of shooting, whacking space to rack the shotgun slide, shoot, repeat. It did take getting used to, but it made the shotgun feel more "real" to me than any shotgun in any other game. It also balanced out the power/capacity of the gun (especially compared to the pistol) nicely, IMO.

What I'd LOVE to see is this added back in. Not forced, because I'm sure loads of new players would utterly hate it, but with added via a menu option (below "Reloading" in the Options menu?) to let the player choose between:

Easy: Shotguns are all semi-auto (as the game is now) Normal/Hardcore: Shotguns must be pumped before each shot (as described above)
Keeping this option separate from the pistol reloading would satisfy players (like me) who wanted one
    but not the other.

Ideally, this would only affect the current shotgun in the game ("pump action"), so at some point in the future, either vanilla or via a mod, a new double-barrel shotgun (never needs to be pumped but only holds two shots) could be added for balance and variety. It would also allow for bolt-action rifles to be added to the game at some point too.

All that is "future stuff" that doesn't need to be worried about now, yes, but getting the basis of a "cock/rack before each shot" gun mechanism into the game at this point would make such future additions more viable as well as making shotguns more realistic (right now, why ever use a pistol instead of a shotgun?).

Loving this latest update (once again i can kill standing zombies), i can see why some people love the new control system but im not a fan, as you end up just standing over a downed zombie waiting to charge an attack and without pushing anything it feels like im just standing there with my nuts in my hand waiting to get bitten.

i also wonder if it will just make the game harder for new players who don't realize you can charge and resort to panicked button bashing instead.

i was amazed people actually used the ctrl key with the old system, that key is a finger killer i always re-set it to spacebar when i can in games and it works great for this

P.S. the new steam beta system is great and i keep finding more fixes/features added every time i play, i cant wait till all the mods catch up with the new system.

If it came down to a choice, I'd much rather have pens and pencils be "drainable" (multi-use) than weapons. Really, I don't see myself using a pen to kill zombies in any situation... a chair or random heavy object would make more sense, IMO. On the other hand, being able to draw more than one doodle with the same pencil makes a lot of sense.

I've never bought songs in mp3. I think it's a waste of money to be honest. When I buy music it needs to be a real item and not some bits... I also prefer vinyl over cd any day. It's just an immersive experience putting the needle on the disc and wait the beginning rustles.

But back on topic! I'd love to have PZ in an old school box (like the sierra ones mentioned) with a nice thick manual with maybe some artwork thrown in. I still have my Wing Commander floppy disk safely in its box sitting on top of my shelf. my preciousssss....

    Description

I am new to coding and this is my first real post, i am unsure if other people have been having this issue but when ever i open the inventory panel all the things that use a Condition bar are always messed up and not aligned with the actual item, this fixes that.

i hope this gets to Lemmy or one of the Devs. because it is an easy fix and they can incorporate this into the new patch, which makes it a lot easier for me because then i don't have to keep on updating the Code

Just wanted to thow in a random "congrats" to the devs for this and the previous release.

I hate Steam with a fair passion, and begrudge ever having to use it... BUT 2.9.9.16 and the latest 2.9.9.17 honestly feels smoother, less buggy and more "complete" than ANY version I've played since Kate & Baldspot took a holiday.

I'll admit to been worried about the fate of the game for a while; I discovered/bought it right in the middle of "the long wait", and updates seemed sparse indeed (especially for a newbie like me with no real idea of the development's turbulent history). But any such worries are gone as of the last few test builds... things feel, play and look effing GREAT!

Sure, there's still bugs, stuff to add and much-polishing before this sucker is "done" but the game is currently fun, playable and feels like a work in progress that's getting better and better.

It's especailly wonderful to see test releases coming so thick and fast (I actually missed versions 12-14, which was a huge surprise); I'd much rather frequent tiny updates than having to wait for big ones, and it seems all the waiting and hard work by the devs towards an engine overhaul to facilitate this was more than worthwhile.

I've personally never seen the appeal of Steam, but if the desired road to that platform - or even me having to use it to play PZ - means this kind of regular awesome updates, I'll shut up, grin and bear it!

Oh, and while it takes a bit of getting used to, the new combat controls are a definite improvement, IMO. Much less clunky and more intuitive for me, at least. I had to map shift to another (side) mouse button to run, but my pinky finger thanks you all the same! Plus, I actualyl feel like I can fight, if I'm not too outnumbered! Amusingly, though, thanks to Steam's "update itself without asking" default, I thought PZ was broken when the update kicked in between reboots and suddenly none of the old controls "worked"!

Again, congrats for all the very hard work over what seem to have been some pretty difficult times at times... it's paid off in spades, folks.
