Hello everyone. A little bit of a short Mondoid this week. In fact the last one ever. But don’t worry, we’re still keeping up with the weekly updates.
It’s the end of an era. This Mondoid is just an announcement to say that from this point the traditional Mondoid blog will be moving to Thursday – henceforth to be known as ‘Thursdoid’.
There are several reasons for this. We know some people look forward to Mondoids to combat the back to work/school Monday blues, but as our team has grown quite dramatically over the past year, it has become more and more clear how inconvenient Monday updates are, how much harder it is to coordinate the week’s work after a weekend, and how they are ultimately of detriment to the game, player-base and developers. From the game’s side, it means we’ve had an entire weekend just prior to the most important day of the week, where it may have been more difficult to get hold of people, or work has been at its lightest. From the developers side, many of the contractors we’ve taken into the fold have families, and its a bit crappy of us to impose our historic looming Mondoid pressure onto them.
We feel that moving to Thursdays will be better for everyone, as we’ll have had several working days of preparation and week day communication to make sure the Thursdoids are on point, versions have had sufficient time in the incubators during the week, and yet we’ll still have Friday to fix up any problems that crop up before the weekend starts (that’s not to say the workaholic elements within will not continue to poke at the game during the weekend as we always have). It’s also closer to the weekend, so when versions emerge, players have less time to wait to have dedicated time to enjoy them.
Also we ran out of Monday puns a long time ago.
We had hoped to sweeten this final Mondoid with a public release of build 38, but in the last hours discovered a few issues we really need to address. As such we will warm up for a full release as soon as we can this week, and we’ll see you on Thursday!

I need some barns, stables and chicken coops.
I do not know if you could help me with the construction of these for a rural area of the map Eerie Country would be much appreciated.

@Legoland99 Great that good that the program has worked perfect I hope your buildings would be better to have them furnished since it would help me a lot with the work to dedicate myself to the details of the streets, by the way that style of buildings is what serves me for the map as it is a big city there are many buildings that I need.

you have those textures in the same tilezed you just have to configure the walls so that the room looks like a metal frame and you place the tent texture, that texture is the basis of the game. then publish more reports of the "Institute for the control of epidemics in the State Eerie." giving more information on control points and their facilities.

for the moment I do not want to touch much the subject of custom textures, but maybe add bags for cadavers, in any case I'll try to make my post-apocalyptic environment more atmospheric with the tiles base of the game.

If you mean multi-story parking lots there's some tiles that look like roads and are shaped like roofs/glass roofs that if you can program it or someone it will basically become a ramp.  I tried and made one but rn it's impossible to climb on it via car. Maybe if you use the staircase codes you could make those like a ramp for the car to go to different levels of the parking lot.

Also it's nice to see some trash in there, infected clothes, belongings, things they've touched etc. I would love to see some body bags if someone could make them, ones that could fit the bed or on the ground. So you would be able to see them in a morgue or on those moving beds or on the ground. Below the fences I'd suggest using a dirt tile, to make it look freshly dug up and installed. Otherwise an amazing work as always.

hehe thank you, if that I plan to add some green areas but mostly are buildings I still have enough way to go I plan to make parking lots of different levels in different models to be able to place next to residential and office buildings.

Institute for the control of epidemics in the State Eerie.
All emergency checkpoints are ordered to purge all infected waste or cadavers that are processed at their facilities. The aim is to avoid the disposal of toxic waste that further disseminates infection among citizens.

If you don't want to have too many bugs I'd suggest you add parking lots and parks in a fair share, otherwise you might get lag spikes with the cars coming soon. Right now I have about 30 buildings like those that I showed, after I make 3x3 of each model but use different textures on the outside and inside, they will be 90 in total. I plan to use most of them on the Union City map, but as I said I'll give you some, once I finish making rooms at least. I've only got about 10-13 more buildings before I have 40-50 in total, then I'll multiply them by 3 and get 150 in total, all for the downtown area XD Good luck on the map making tho, I saw some great things so far !

Cool stuff and all but when might there be some updates on animations? I know it's a "no no" to ask but it's been a pretty long while since any progress towards release has been shown.

I only have a small request from someone insignificant with all the work they are doing. Military vehicles in build 39, with that is enough for me and would be vital for the zomboid environment.
thanks for wanting to improve the feeling of driving and the way the vehicles appear, is a good contribution.

I use the metal frames, and put the texture of tents to give that effect of armed installation, and also use the roof of the trailers for the store where the soldiers are.

A good suggestion for Project Zomboid which I would recommend and wish the developers would implement is a tool where you can import your own tiles and rearrange them, edit them, and save. For example, say you have a car tile and want it in the game. The tool will split it where it needs to so that it appears in game as it should and you can add all the options like if it is solid and whatnot. Because objects that take up multiple tiles aren't easy to make by hand and knowing how and where to split is just hard for non-developers like myself. I have huge tile ideas that I want to implement but it is not feasible.

The flexibility the game will have if you can take a drawing or a tile and have a program analyze and split it and then have it made into a sheet or tilesets would be amazing. More people would create amazing things. Take for example walls, doors, steeples, architectural designs. Little details that make the environment believable will immerse the player more in the world. That was what I wanted with Chernaurus, but ultimately, its too complex for me. A tool that allows you to import textures, an ISO image or drawing  of an object and then have it arranged and split would be kind of neat. You might be thinking, "isn't there a tool that does that already?" Yeah the tool allows to import those tile sheets that you may make but it can't split multiple tile objects correctly. You can have a car that takes multiple areas of a sheet but as soon as you start to split the tile each side, N,E,W,S and the like it doesn't know how to manage that. You literally need to hand draw them already in halves. I commend the developers with their game and their unique style, but non-developers like me don't have the ability to create or mastery that type of artistry. This is what ultimately made me suspend the project. I still very much love the game. If someday the developers make a tool like that I would love to start making my own tiles that will fit the apocalyptic setting I wanted to create with chernaurus. Have a great day everyone.

    Build Vehicle 19:

    [New]
New method to spawn vehicles, that should look a little more like real life: Lot of experimental zones have been created (mainly in Riverside) including junk yard, special trailer park spawning, etc. Special cars (postal, mccoy...) should spawn in correct place, some can still spawn in the world randomly. New burnt vehicles textures. Some vehicle specifics are now set per car (and not a constant or per zone), can be influenced by the zone vehicle spawned on: Engine loudness Engine quality (junk yard have crappy quality for example) Initial gas Locked doors Balanced cars properties (speed, mass, acceleration, gas tank..) to correspond more with real life and make them more different. Gas consummed now depend on your engine speed, quality and your mass while in movement. Car keys can now spawn in nearby desk. Added new vehicle sandbox options: Car spawn rate: how much cars you want? Initial Gas: initial gas included in new spawned cars. Locked Frequency: frequency the cars will be closed (doesn't influence the chance of having the key spawning around). Gas consumption: (default 1.0) lower or increase the gas consumed by your car.
    [Bug Fix]
Fixed burnt car textures not showing. Added back "vehiclesDisable" in server-settings UI. Fixed bug with map loading infinitely due to a player in a stopped car. Fixed vehicles sometimes disappear when exiting and reloading a save

Here's a quick building that I did, unfinished on the inside, will add some rooms and such later on. Doing a lot more of these for a commercial/medium density area. Hope ya like it (made for Union City, upcoming custom map).
