  1. Disable shaders and multicore in the in-game Options menu? Sweet, sweet tears of the Drake.
  2. What's your windows user name ? We may change that tho, because for now it'll accept only UTF-8 because we use java string... We working on it, sorry guys Or figure out some way to use the shell:personal command, since My Documents and Documents don't have a relative path outside of the registry, rather than rely on Java's default properties. Apparently this is configurable in the Options menu. What's your windows user name ? We may change that tho, because for now it'll accept only UTF-8 because we use java string... We working on it, sorry guys It just doesn't currently generate a file to place a mod in. The folder has to be created manually?
  3. Rather just have its utility be limited to reducing the rate at which food warms up to the normative temperature, rather than have it act like a refrigerator, at least without the addition of something colder than its current contents.
  4. Yeah, you get a penalty for using two-handed weapons in 1 hand. Edit : Ninja-d by Romain Mega- edit : As we've already talked to Romain on skype, it seems like on russian windows the "mods" folder doesn't appear in C:\Users\Name\Documents\Zomboid. What's even funnier, is that the Zomboid folder is created within C:\Users\Name\Zomboid rather than "Documents" one. But even so, there doesn't seem to be any hints of "mods" folder anywhere around. It still exists within the main directory though. (steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid) Miscommunication. %username%\zomboid rather than My Documents or the Documents library. 'less I'm terribly mistaken.
  5. That . . . they're focusing on one specific aspect of someone's wall of text rather than address the other concerns? ("If you can't get X right, how can the game progress" becomes "The game isn't about X and will never be about X!").
  6. I get the impression you're playing a very old version of the game; one that didn't involve collision or "grabbing" to slow the player down.
  7. Unless I'm terribly mistaken, you should already be seeing a difference in this in the last beta build. That was part of the hit to performance, trying to spread them out a bit.
  8. Meaningful post or meaningful action. Now, everyone quiver in fear.
  9. Downgrading doesn't sound like a option to me. "Build 2.9.9.17 Beta" still works. I was eager to see the teleporting hordes get fixed but that ain't happening for a while now is it? *Sigh* No, it's not happening for a while. Most of the effort is being put into the crippling performance issues re: conversion to 3D. Note, nothing about hordes was mentioned in the origin post of this thread. To expect it to be fixed in this version is . . . a bit confusing and off-topic. If you've mistakenly downloaded this version of the game, thinking it'd work on a 32-bit system, the only thing you can do is change to an earlier beta (not the interim in other words), download version 16, play the Desura build, or circumvent the exe and replace the applicable dll files.
  10. I'll always advocate "less is more" for these things, beyond the "become a zombie" when dead. I don't see a need for indicators when other cues already exist for them, such as sounds and the rather obvious effect of a critical hit after charging for X. I'd even go so far as to say replacing the pointer with a simple white dot would be an improvement, rather than a large morphing circle or the regular mouse pointer. Aiming was in 2.0r 2.5 -- a critical hit, if anything, required aiming and clicking on the head of a zombie.
  11. Sledgehammers should have no trouble destroying walls and staircases in the Desura version. As to stairs ending in a wall? It's a matter of perception due to the isometric nature of the game -- the last step appears to be above the wall, therefore why shouldn't you be able to walk up it? You do it once, realise the mistake, and don't do it again.
  12. Well, we all know only one of us has little enough of a life to win . . . Bu wah ha ha ha . . .
  13. All I know is that after reading this suggestion, I now want to be able to craft a gigantic bag out of a sheet and a pole.
  14. In Options, set shaders to "No" and video memory to "Low."
  15. Hey Jack, mind trying the interim build now that it is out? It defaults to Java x64, rather than x32 as previously.Hope it resulsts in something different. Lowerlander, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid and try running the game directly from there as an administrator.
  16. The sandbox variables for zombie spawning are fixed. Nothing besides that. Does this mean we can finally change the unbalanced horde aggregation in Sandbox until it's fixed in Survival? Haven't played for awhile due to getting frustrated with Zombies magically appearing within a Walled-in section of land with no doors. No, this means you can only set the maximum number of zombies present in the game.
  17. Could you elaborate on what OS (version, 32/64bit) you have? Like I said before, Windows XP SP3... If your system isn't 64-bit, this likely isn't going to work out well. After having signed into Desura's web site (desura.com), go here: http://www.desura.com/games/project-zomboid/keys
  18. To get an error log on Windows, open Command Prompt and paste the following command: cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid"ProjectZomboid32.exe 2>err.txtYou'll find err.txt in the ProjectZomboid directory -- just remember it gets massive in a hurry, depending on the error.
  19. In Options, set shaders to "no" and Video Memory to "Low."
  20. I've never known someone from the States to use curtains and blinds interchangeably. And I don't want to know such a creature!
  21. . . . he said, "Butt-eye-die-grass."
  22. That is not to say that everyone will see awesome performance, however. It's hard to predict.
  23. That will require someone else.
