Infection?

I remember people saying that in newer builds, it isn't possible to become infected. Is this true?

I get infected all the time , its possible

You can only get infected from bites and scratches, (unless theirs another way I don't know about.) The wiki also states that if you are scratched you have a 25% chance of infection and if you're bitten there's a 96% chance of infection. There is no cure. None.

There was a god mode bug in one of the test versions, it's fixed.

I think this was a forum rumor several versions ago.    It came from someone noting that you don't actually get up and walk around as a zombie after an infection death anymore.    Someone then started a thread saying that infection was off but it was just a misunderstanding.

I believe that in one of the test versions infection was indeed broken.
