Is there going to be a basement in the isolated forest house?

If I remember correctly, basements are randomly assigned to buildings. Or maybe I'm thinking the TYPE of basement is randomly asigned. Or both. Its in one of the thursdoid posts.

You can't (at the moment). It will be part of the next major build (b42). However, you won't be able to build a basement, just use those that are present then (afaik?).

Some basements will be static for specific buildings and there will also be some basements that gets generated randomly for various buildings (private homes mainly I guess).

There is a workshop mod on steam that allows you to build basements, it's quite nice.

Would be cool if you could delete 1x1 land blocks with a shovel or something Minecraft style. Just let us delete the ground chunks to make open areas. For digging deeper be able to construct downwards dirt stairs with a shovel. Allow wooden walls to be placed directly against dirt walls and people will be able to create their own basements / underground facilities. Shovels will not allow you to dig through tiles that are not dirt.

I don't think basement assignment is random, but which basement you find is. 

So Building A has a basement -  but it could be  Versoin A \ B \ C \ D \ etc

 

But some buildings have Fixed basement so it will always be Version A.
