NormalBates
So I decided to create a distraction to help me thin out the zombies with my shotgun (and 200 shells). Seems like I distracted a bit too much?

NormalBates
Unfortunately it isn't, I was completely stuck, couldn't move forwards or backwards. And it ended up in this:
ZonaryQuasar
Congratulations, you learned to leave your car when you turn the sirens on! (btw, you can use a molotov in this situation to kill them all, but you have to stay there because they don't burn offscreen)

Yeah, this is fine. It's on you. Noise is the main lure for the zombies and you underestimated the Zed count of the town. That's the sort of distraction you can maybe use in a rural farmland, but not in a town where you haven't secured an escape route prior to the event. Also: 7 hours ago, NormalBates said: thin out the zombies with my shotgun (and 200 shells). So you started a housefire and decided to pour gasoline on it? Gunfire in a town will get you mobbed if you aren't in a group or very lucky. I use guns very sparingly, if at all, because you'll always draw out more Zeds than you take down.
