trombonaught
Hi guys and gals. Just thought I'd share some of the artificial "end game" scenarios my group has been playing with. We play with the same people repeatedly but found that "dying and not dying" wasn't enough gameplay to hold our interest anymore. Put on PVP (safety if you like), announce win conditions and current leaders at the start of each session, and give these a spin: Objective run: Spawn up at WP in the boat house and get the whole party down into a predetermined location (ideally far away and notable, maybe admin paints a helipad onto a warehouse or the prison). Alternatively you could make it a competition (spawn somewhere else and call it "first to the boathouse" perhaps, as in they escape on the only boat). Survivor Hostile: Last one standing. May want to start as a team but after losing a character, players go hostile until only one original character remains. For context, think "hunger games" but everyone is infected (you can literally set that) and the last survivor gets the "cure." Survivor Lite: First character to survive 10 days wins (tied players may be encouraged to hunt each other). Safehouse: Set a consistent spawn point (mall? warehouse? prison?), set zeds super high, and have regular admin events draw in the horde (maybe have a grace day/week for preparations). Hold out as long as you can, lose when the spawn point is no longer usable. Murderface: first to 1000 zed kills wins. Mastery: first to max a skill wins. Generally for server settings you want zeds high (2-3 max population) and PVP enabled. Also may want to set zeds to fragile for Safehouse or Murderface. Also may want to change those names Edit: For a list of admin commands such as chopper, create horde, create gunshot, etc., see here https://wiki.nitrado.net/en/Commands_in_Project_Zomboid

lucy the axe
Hide and Spiffo: Spawn in one Spiffo, make sure it doesn't respawn elsewhere (can admin do this?) The first person to hold Spiffo in their inventory for 10 days straight wins. Variations: Every time Spiffo changes hands, the new owner is announced to everyone on server. (Maybe teleport the new owner to a random spot on the map everytime Spiffo changes hands?) GPS Spiffo - Shorten the 10 days requirement to 1-3 days, but have the server regularly announce the coordinates of Spiffo every couple of hours. Spy: For 3 players or more. Have two players get a notif (is this possible? Or they spawn with Spiffo in inventory?) to indicate that they're the spies for this round. Spy1 does not know who Spy 2 is, and vice versa. The goal of spies is to kill everyone else EXCEPT the other spy. Game is over if any of the ff happens: Everyone else dies - Spies win. Spy kills another spy, either by trickery or accident - Non-spies win. Both spies are killed by non-spies - Non-spies win. End of Zomboid: There's only one zombie on the map. First to kill it, wins. (Might have to restrict area to a smaller map?)
Footmuffin
make an arena for only blind, weak, pacifist characters. premake accounts for all participants, bring them to the arena, log everybody in on schedule. they have five butterknives. fight to the death. everybody spawns in as bob baldspot, under a premade account, except for two. one is kate. one is bobby collins. kate's leg is broken, and cannot leave the house. collins has a shotgun. the baldspots guard kate and are only only armed with two hammers to share, pillowcases, and enough planks and nails to fully barricade everything. team baldspots spawn at kate and bob's home, and there are normal numbers of zombies. once it's all prearranged, keep it saved for replayability. the collins cannot break down the walls, doors, or windows. the baldspots win by keeping kate alive for a game week. collins has to infiltrate their home, kill kate, and turn on the radio in the bedroom to announce his victory. the bobs can install fair types of traps, nail traps from a mod, and cannot scavenge guns or weapons. doing so constitutes a loss, the kate has to moderate the baldspots out of cheating or doing something scummy. the collins is free to quit if that happens, fair play and all. the rules for that arent really fleshed out, balance as you like if you think it sounds interesting. Maybe start it off with a molotov or two on each floor. Not too intense at the top, but could be intense by the time they reach the lower levels. Strats
Grand Escape: Have the players spawn in the prison, where a majority of players are guards and a few are prisoners; however, some of the guards are sympathetic to the prisoners. The goal of the prisoners is to escape and head north to the Ohio River, where they can "escape."

No matter the game mode you can turn anything into a PVP mess if somebody decides that PZ is a shoot-em up for players.
Livio Persemprio
which is sad... the shooting system in pz is really poor at the moment and the game is heavily focused on raising skills for co-op. turning everything into pvp sounds just like a mess, or at least that is true in my experience
xXxFANCYCAPYBARA36xXx
I guess you can make a fun PVP only gamemode in this cabin area http://map.projectzomboid.com/?#0.5730626085437336,0.19219809152354558,55.206143891243606 One is the slasher / Jason, the others are civilians who need to survive for the night. Wall off the area if theres a way to so its just the cabins and a bit of the surrounding forest and make sure to play with trustworthy people who wont just hide inside the trees to win Slasher gets an axe / kitchen knife for the first half, and then a shotgun with 8 shells for the other half of the night. Civilians get a flashlight, if you wanna add some extra fun in you can hide a pistol somewhere with 4 or so shells for the survivors or killer around the end of the game to spice things up
Livio Persemprio
now this actually sounds fun, should we also add some aiming skill points to the players? the pistol might be of no use without them
xXxFANCYCAPYBARA36xXx
sure, slasher should get max aiming skill points and the civilians about half or a bit more. my friends and i got the idea from it from friday the 13th the game, we used to do this gamemode in a custom left 4 dead 2 server and it was loads of fun. especially when you got a friend with a mic who does an amazing serial killer impression while chasing you through nearly pitch black woods XD
